We are heading into June already.

Tell us about your movement this week. Are you gardening, walking, cleaning, doing laundry? Almost anything counts as we encourage each other to exercise.

Have a great week! [hi]

Beautiful out today. Sunny and lower 70’s.

I am sitting out on my porch ready to read.

I attended church via Zoom.

I did a load of laundry and vacuumed the car.

I watered my flowers. Called and yakked with my mom. Haven’t seen her in 3 months due to retirement center lock down. Sure miss seeing my parents.

Enjoy your afternoon and evening. 😀

Moving and shaking? I mopped two floors yesterday! That is not something I normally do. I leave it to my housekeeper, but she hasn't been here in 2 months or so.

I've done a good job of keeping up with everything except the tub. I will "sweep" it out tomorrow and wash the shower mat.

I picked up groceries today at Walmart. I'm beginning to really like this pick up service. I may continue to do this and then if I HAVE to drop in for something I can get in and out quickly. So far I have not had to do that.

One drawback is that I have several things which need to be returned. Today I got a pack of Swiffer refills (UNscented) but they STINK to high heaven!!

Right now it's on the balcony airing out. I don't know if it got contaminated or if it's incorrectly packaged. So nasty!!

Anyway, I didn't get a whole lot done today.

We did go to church.

Hiker .. I hope you get to see your parents soon! I would call the retirement place and tell them they need to start working on a solution!!

Tutu—I think I would rather have my parents safely isolated a bit longer. When they do open every kid or grandchild of a resident will descend upon the retirement home and that scares me.

Their county has 3x the number of cases of Covid-19 than my county. And in my county 77% of the deaths are nursing home related.

Thanks Hiker for getting us started this week! Can't believe it's June 1 tomorrow.

We dropped off Josh's car in ATL yesterday so 3 hours up then 3 hours back. Josh bought dinner last night so we ordered and picked it up.

Today I made brunch for me and Mom. We had scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, grits and toast.

Since it's Sunday Josh usually comes for dinner so I made a big salad, corn on the cob, baked potatoes and I grilled tenderloin steaks over wood charcoal. It was delicious! My steak could have been more rare but it was just so tender! I'm a beginner at grilling and I'm enjoying the learning process.

Hiker it must be very hard not to see your folks. I bet they miss you like crazy!

TuTu I'm ashamed to admit that my housekeeping is going downhill. I really need to dust, vacuum and mop the kitchen and bath. I have absolutely no excuse! Hoping you'll inspire me to get busy!

OK gang....gotta get some shut eye for my busy day tomorrow. Lawn weed and feed guy coming at 7:00 and workers coming to replace some fascia boards. Also will try to cut the front yard with the reel mower.

[hi]

Hiker .. I guess maybe their building is not conducive to any creative ideas. So sad.

AK .. you do so many active things, and my cleaning is about my only activity these days. I can't walk long distances, but I need to find a way to walk short distances safely.

I've cleaned the tub this morning as best I can. I have a broom that works "halfway." I also washed the shower mat.

Not sure what else is on the agenda today. I need to find a few good things to do!!

We're going to hit 90 degrees on Friday. UGH!!

Tutu—we will hit 90 tomorrow with high humidity. Ugh.

I did my knee exercises.

My knee really bothers me walking on cement and walking down stairs and my shoulders are feeling very painful again. Sent a message to the great physical therapist I had but she is out with some kind of injury.

Her assistant replied this afternoon and said stop exercises for several weeks except for stretching and walk to tolerance. I don’t mind stopping the shoulder resistance exercises for awhile as that really helped when my shoulders flared up in January.

I hate to lose the progress on my leg exercises, though. The exercises don’t seem to hurt but the walking does. What a conundrum. Probably need to go see orthopedist again.
Filled the bird feeders. Took down my hummingbird feeder and cleaned it.

Finished reading the good novel.

Need to drag trash to curb and take recycling to bins.

I couldn't sleep last night, probably worried about all the things to do today.

So rolled out of bed around 5:30 and drank a couple cups of coffee and paid some bills. Lawn fertilizer guy came out around 8:15.

Around 12:00 we had a guy come out and replace the fascia boards on the back and one side of the house.

I went ahead and did my 3 DVDs, facial exercises and pelvic routine while that was going on. Afterwards I checked a local pawn shop that had a sale advertised looking for gardening tools. No luck!

Cut the grass with the reel mower, attached my fence cover to the chain link fence and hog panels and cleaned up a bunch of paint chips left by the fascia board guy.

I'm beat!

TuTu don't laugh...my Mom won't let me scrub the tub. Drives me nuts. We use a spray on cleaner instead. The tub has a nonslip area on the bottom and her reasoning is that scrubbing will remove it. It could really use a good scrubbing!

Hiker my shoulder is bothering me lately and I think it might be caused by my arm workout with 3 lb weights and my deep massaging. I'm getting more strength and flexibility with the workout and hope it'll calm down soon.

Well gang...I'm going to try and get some sleep.

I spent most of the day dealing with my car and the mechanic.
I took my car in for an oil change and I knew I needed new tires. After three hours they came out to tell me they had two of the tires on but the machine had broken.

They gave me a loaner car and sent me home and when I got home I realized that my house keys were on my car keychain and I had to have a friend bring me my spare set.

Then Honda sent me a nice young lady with my car to my house and I paid the bill. However after she left I noticed they charge me for tire rotation, so I had to call and they said they would credit my account. I really just want the $20 back but since I paid by check they won’t just give me $20.

I did my balance exercises this afternoon. I am very cranky today because my shoulders are killing me and my knee is killing me.

So I’m going to sit in my air-conditioned home and read. I probably should water the flowers but it’s supposed to rain tomorrow so I’ll wait until then to see.

Motivated today so did my usual 3 workout DVDs, facial exercises and pelvic routine. I'm starting to sound like a broken record!

Made brunch for me and Mom and have been chilling today.

Josh is borrowing my car until his is fixed and I miss my little hatchback! I need some landscaping timber and don't know if I can squeeze them into my Mom's Honda Civic.

Hiker that's so frustrating that they only had 2 of your tires! Do you have all 4 tires on there now? Hope you don't have to make a second trip!

Off to waste some time playing a computer game!

Ugh, Hiker .. What a bad day! I've had days like that!!! I locked my keys in the trunk one time and couldn't get into the car or the house. It was a bigger mess than you would think!!

I hope Wednesday is a better day for you!!

AK .. What Mama doesn't know, Mama doesn't complain about. Use baking soda. LOL. I use baking soda and Dr Bronner's unscented soap. Works fine.

Hubby and I went in for blood work at our GP's. I was very happy he agreed to get his done. They had everyone wait outside after calling in. We also had an appointment for the blood work.

Our doctor's office has their own lab there. Also had to wear a mask.

Later, I went to pick up a med and then went to a small grocery store for fresh meat. I don't want to go to Walmart grocery yet. I've been picking up food there, but not willing to go in.

Need to do Bible study tonight. We are really enjoying the book of Acts.

Pray for our country, everyone. It's getting really bad. This is the longest year of my life.

I went grocery shopping this morning. In and out in less than 30 minutes.

Did my knee exercises.

Worked on Bible study for tomorrow’s group.

Gabbed with my friend who lives in Minneapolis.. She left the city for a couple of days as she and her son live close to the looting,

Watching storm clouds move in. I love to watch them build but may not like the result.

Am ready to start a new novel tonight after I cook my pork chops.

News Flash:

Our town had 13.29 inches of rain in May. It was almost that much in April too.

Yes, it's GREEN here!

Had a couple thunderstorms today with some wind. Brought some branches down from the huge old maple trees in the yard.

One storm was going on as the boys were doing chores. There was some hail which broke a window in the barn. Scared the goats and sent them running around in the pen.

Several of the potted plants outside tipped over.

Had to run some boxes to the butcher this afternoon so they could stack the meat in to freeze it. It will fit neatly into my chest freezer in banana boxes. I will need to clean out and organize my freezers to get all the meat in.

Went to the store to get zippers for our dresses. I had forgotten to get them when I bought the fabric. They had some fabric on sale for $3.99 a yard and a piece came along home with me. Now I have another dress to sew. :-)

Sticky and steamy here but the rain passed us by.

I had Bible study via Zoom this morning,

Watered my flowers outside.

Did my balance exercises.

Went to library parking lot to get 2 more books on hold.

Manna—ice cream gets into my shopping bag and fabric gets into yours. What is wrong with this picture? [Big Grin]

Way overdid it yesterday. Did all my regular exercises then started tackling the erosion issue.

Picked up four 4x4 six foot posts, five 40 lb. bags of river rock, 10 bags of topsoil and started phase one of my erosion solution.

Yesterday I built some berms along the low spot beside the fence.

Today no exercise but went and bought 8 pots of white creeping phlox to plant into the berm. Also picked up 5 more bags of topsoil.

So guess what I'm doing tomorrow? LOL!

TuTu we're feeling stressed down here too. So far peaceful protests but arson was committed at the local Civil War museum.

Hiker I've been gaining a bit of weight too. Hard to believe with all the work in the yard. Thank God I've been working out for about a month. Those bags of river rock and topsoil about killed me!

Manna I don't envy cleaning more than one freezer. We have a small chest type freezer and I have to chip the ice off near the top. Another job my dear Mom has added to my honey do list.

Time to relax! See everyone tomorrow!

Up about 7:30 and worked out to my 3 DVDs, did my facial exercises and the old pelvic routine. Pelvic area a little on the weak side from lifting five 40 lb. bags of river rock yesterday.

Afterwards took Mom to run a couple of errands and also picked up 3 bags of compost manure.

Planted my 8 pots of creeping phlox using the manure and more topsoil. Pray that between the phlox and the 4x4 posts and gravel the erosion will stop.

Hoped to get my Mom's hibiscus in the ground but it started to rain.

Now I'm going to veg!

See everyone tomorrow!

AK—We will just call you Wonder Woman.

I did my knee exercises this morning.

Spent a lot of time researching prolotherapy, PRP, and stem cell injections for my knee. Not covered by insurance and I would have to travel several hours for the treatment.

I talked at length with several people about it. One gal said she had 50 injections in her knee at one session and it really helped. Not sure I could handle that. Friend just had a stem cell injection but won’t know for months if it worked.

I did a load of laundry and put the clean sheets back on the bed.

Off to read now.

Got the freezers cleaned out today. My daughter did most of it. I helped decide what goes back in and which mystery items get pitched. Amazing what all can get lost in the bottom of a chest freezer.

Raining again today. The masks out on the line are getting rinsed again for the 3rd time?

My hip is complaining after the bending in the freezer exercise. Hope it calms down overnight.

Will need to blanch & freeze the extra asparagus tomorrow. Should cut the tea and dry some for winter. Picked some strawberries from our patch. They are rather small.

Strawberries—yummy!

I watered my flowers. We really need the rain but I suspect that when it finally comes it will be a deluge.

Cut back my peonies that’s are done blooming and weeded a little bit.

Did a load of laundry.

Went to grill the salmon for lunch and when I unwrapped the brown butcher paper I found I had defrosted hamburgers instead of fish. Oh well. The burger was tasty. [Big Grin]

Sat outside this afternoon and read but started to get a heat headache so am back in the AC.

Good breeze going today - lots of sunshine - feels quite warm. The boys just checked the thermometer - it says 103 degrees!! No wonder they feel so hot!

That thermometer is in the direct sunlight so its not telling the truth in the afternoon. The temp is 87 with a Real Feel of 90. I think we feel so warm because the temperature has gone from cool to warm so fast.

Did the washing today. It dries really fast and the shirts don't need to be ironed with the way they flapped in the wind.

Got some raspberries out of the freezer to make jelly. Blendered them and now letting them drip through the strainer to get all the seeds out.

Need to decide what to cook for Sunday dinner. Think I'll get chicken out to thaw. Should I add saffron or bbq or herbs? We have red potatoes. Oh! I should go cut some of our lettuce in the garden for a salad.

All sounds wonderful!!

I went to Walgreen's for a script this morning and downtown to mail a card. Then I stopped at Kohl's to send something back to Amazon.

They gave me a 25% off coupon, so HEY!! I found a few capris which I needed and 3 new tops. One of them I can wear to church. I'm going to wait until next Sunday to wear it though because it's closer to our anniversary.

By the way, their dressing rooms are closed and so is the return dept. You have 6 months to return things you buy now.

I bought a new small vacuum cleaner on Amazon and it came with a filter that is labeled 'FEBREZE.' I will NOT open it from its package. NO WAY.

I have to wait until Monday to call the company about it. Many many companies are including scented %$#$ in their appliances. It's maddening.

If they cannot send me one with absolutely NO FRAGRANCE I will send the vacuum back.

Have a great day tomorrow!!

Weekends are usually formal exercise free days. Yay! So I made brunch for me and Mom of gluten free waffles, scrambled eggs and bacon.

We decided to go to the indoor flea market and Josh met us there. All 3 of us were wearing masks and gloves.

I scored big time! Found some Pioneer speakers ($30) to go with my used awesome Sony turntable and new receiver. Also bought a Craftsman electric weed trimmer for $20!

Hiker I decided not to cook so we did Mexican take out again. Your hamburgers sound much better! Keep us in the loop about your knee. I'm curious about what treatment you decide on and the results. My bad shoulder is a bit better and I'm hoping it's from working out my biceps and triceps. Haven't had muscles in that arm for about 20 years!

Manna I took out some chicken also for tomorrow. I might just bake it in cream of mushroom soup. I'm hoping to get my turntable up and running tomorrow so won't cook up a storm like I usually do on Sundays.

TuTu can't believe the filter has Febreeze in it! Josh started coughing today from someone's overwhelming cologne at the flea market, even with a mask on! I smelled it too but didn't react as badly. The Febreeze filter would be a deal breaker for me too.

Egads! It's almost 2:30 a.m.! Night everyone!
