Fatality rate of Covid19 is in fact, 8 to 15 times LOWER than they predicted before the shut down.

Why is the media not talking about that?

And this CDC info is based on data received before April 29, 2020, so not current. I don’t know current rates.

But this article shows how difficult it is to tell fatality rates.

https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-01738-2

Sadly, there’s so much that still needs to be learned about this disease. And one of the things they are learning is some people are going to have lifelong effects while others have very mild cases and others die.

The problem is with the credibility of the agencies reporting the cases.

During the Great Influenza of 1918 -1921, most countries purposely reported lower infection rates, as the outbreak was incurring during World War 1 and countries did not want to appear weak.

Spain was not involved in the war and was reporting consistantly high virus numbers going up every 2 days. The name The Spanish Flu Epidemic and the Great Influenza are the same pandemic.

Here's more about how reported numbers are usually much lower than reality;

How many cases of Lyme disease are never diagnosed or reported?
No one knows.
How many cases of COVID19 were never diagnosed or reported?
No one knows.

Arguing about statistics doesn't help that we are all in danger of getting this often fatal disease.

I am very concerned about gullible people who believe whatever they see or read from alarmists who promote unprovable conspiracy theories. Ignorance is never protection against pandemics or any disease.

Your political affiliation, or your wealth, or your community status, or your beliefs are no protection against a disease that is afflicting people all over the planet.

People are being infected, are suffering and dying from an tiny
virus that nobody could possibly control.

In most parts of the country, it is now possible to get tested easily.
So do it.

Wear a mask to protect other people. (Anyone who doesn't wear a mask doesn't care about anyone else.) To protect yourself stay six feet away from others, and wash your hands often for 20 seconds.

Simple ways to do what you can to remain healthy and alive.

Ann, there are so many things out there about this.

I wear a n95 mask every time i go to the grocery.

I am insulted by people who do not. Big mouth open germs flying out . I run for the other side of the isle .

They are selfish not wearing a mask.

I wear a mask where I can. Mostly when we go out, it's to a restaurant or to church.

I will continue to a wear a mask. Better than nothing.

The article Brussels listed is from April 1. I know that some articles will say that wearing a face mask is controversial in terms of effectiveness.

This article below shows how they are testing facemask in two different ways.

It did help protect 140 people exposed to a hair stylist who had COVID. Not one of the salon's customers ended up with COVID.

It only makes since that any kind of mask can help some.

The states here that have opened up and where people are not wearing masks are seeing increases in cases, especially among the younger generation.

Nobody knows if you will develop immunity.

Nobody knows what the long-term effects will be if you have the virus, mild or severe.

Nobody knows if the vaccine will be effective long-term or short.

Nobody knows if the virus will mutate and hit again, avoiding the known treatments and any vaccine.

Nobody knows if another different virus will attack the world again.

Nobody knows what the odds are - no matter the CDC numbers.

So why not do what you know will help protect you and everyone around you ??? Seems like a no-brainer to me!

We all know that the death rates are much lower than initially thought.

We all know that any flu kills, not only SarsCov2.

And the flu kills all ages: why no one used masks before?

I DID use masks while I was in Japan / South Korea, but also for OTHER reasons: they have the yellow dust from Mongolia, and THAT is VERY poisonous in itself.

This became a paranoia, because hospitals do not treat.

Like lyme: if you don't treat, you may die, or at least, suffer a lot.

It makes a big difference to get treatments - such as vitamins, zinc, chloroquine etc - or to be left without treatments.

And plus, to be put on ventilators when the problem is somewhere else.

9 out or 10 people put on vents died in NY, and that is fine: people just talk about wearing masks and washing hands while they should be ALSO talking about wrong treatments that kill.

What is killing MORE is lack of treatments. You can see that all countries that used chloroquine massively have very low mortality rates (look at South Korea, Israel, India, Greece...)

Here is an article in French about Greece.
https://inchloroquinwetrust.com/actualites/dr-konstantinos-nikitidis-fb83-e1248-1.html?fbclid=IwAR0p-utGFlWmRNp0xoODFy0c-FJd3X2qCiS_6kUfZ-3WJIDqG4ekOHnCssI

If there were treatments (which there are, zinc alone + chloroquine could be the answer, or liposomal Vit C in high doses another...), no one would be embarking on this craze.

If you are buying this, why haven't you protected yourself and your family EVERY year ,in the flu season?

The flu kills about 0.1% of the infected population. This Covid19 kills about 0.2- 0.4% (the more we test, the less the percentage as many are assymptomatic).

Right for the mask: but it should have been used in the past, and always, when the flu comes. Then it would make sense.

Lymetoo: there's a German researcher who said: No one has ever been infected in a hair saloon in Germany. Prof Streeck, who analyzed 500 homes in the WORST town in Germany. The MORE people in a household, the less people get contaminated, he said.

What makes the contamination seems to be the amount of viruses circulating in a closed space, and for that, you need a lot of infected people in one place (like in a hospital or in an asylum).

https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality

The above link shows some mortality rates for a few countries and they are pretty high.

In the USA, an average flu season does not kill over 120,000 (and still rising)

I agree that masks would be a good idea during flu season, too.

If you look at the 1918 flu pandemic, people wore masks. Also a study was done comparing St. Louis to Philadelphia. Philadelphia opened up much faster than St. Louis and had much higher dearth rate during that pandemic.

I certainly agree that the United States has had a pathetic response to this virus from our national government but others may disagree with me.

Where I live we were never told that we had to stay inside. They just shut down businesses where a lot of people would congregate such as restaurants, bars, and going to church ior to work places that had a lot of people inside. But we were free to go outside and walk or exercise in some way.

But I will continue to wear a mask when I go out to grocery shop or go to a doctor’s appointment etc. Why do you think surgeons and hospital personnel wear masks in surgery or around cancer patients prior to this pandemic? It’s to keep infection away from the patients. So it only makes sense to wear a mask now.

My godson just got COVID-19 at the beach. They weren’t wearing masks and one guy he was with was infected and passed it on.

I think scientists and doctors are learning more and more about COVID-19 as they go along. At first they didn’t know that ventilators might not be the first choice for severely ill patients and they didn’t know to lay patients prone instead of supine. We all have a lot to learn about this. Casting blame right now is not going to do any of us any good.

I pray for an end to this pandemic. I pray that you all stay safe.
