Can you believe it's AUGUST!??

It's so hard to keep up with which month it is. I had a young person say that to me yesterday, so it made me feel better about wondering some days!!

We had a nice service this morning. More came to church today since the Pastor was back. He took a week off last week.

Came home and then I went to pick up some food at a nearby restaurant.

Not sure what will get done today .. but I DID wash sheets yesterday!

Have a good day!!

Tutu--Thanks for starting us off for the week.

Yesterday my friend came over and we sat in the garage for a chat and watched our cars get washed in the pouring rain. Unfortunately I didn't realize the rear window of my car was open. [bonk]

So, I spent a lot of time last night using the wet vac, towels and hairdryer to dry it out. Put it in the garage and left the doors open with fans running all night.

Today I put it in the sunny drive and put in baking soda for several hours. Vacuumed that up and put car back in the garage with doors open and fan running again. Supposed to rain more tonight. Probably will put baking soda in it again tomorrow.

I watched church via Zoom.

Called my mom and chatted.

Did a load of laundry.

Have a great week! [Cool]

Thanks TuTu for starting us out for another week! Don't you just love to pick up take out? I'm getting kind of spoiled. I just roll up in shorts and a mask, no makeup, etc. [Big Grin]

Hiker oh no! Hope your car dries out OK. Bet you enjoyed having company!

Up at 7:00 and worked out to my 3 DVDs, facial exercises and some of my pelvic routine.

We have a subcontractor coming out to install an attic pull down trap door. Also our bug guy is coming out today. Afterwards me and Mom are going to run some errands.

Well, that's it for now.

I trimmed the 4 spirea bushes in the back of the house. So far shoulder is not super sore so maybe PRP injection starting to work. 🙏

Did my knee exercises.

Went for a walk.

Tying to quell the ant invasion. Can’t figure out where they are coming from but they are marching across carpet into kitchen. Put down some diatomaceous earth and a couple of ant traps.

Sorting out medical bills. They are paid but trying to match bills with insurance papers.

Off to work on Bible study.

I like to put diatomaceous earth in an old spice shaker bottle and then 'powder my ants' when they come in the kitchen. The powder kind of disorients them and they sometimes go wandering off. But once enough of it gets back into their nest, they stop coming back.

Did laundry today. Its all back in except the load of shirts I forgot about. Its all clouded up and we have a flash flood warning. Not that we get much flash flooding here at our place.

Trying to keep an eye on the weather and will bring the shirts in & hang them on hangers to dry. My living room gets decorated with shirts until they are dry.

Sorted out some of the empty jars we stored for canning. Threw out some of the odd jars we'd saved. We have too many .

Hiker .. is your car OK now? Hope that injection is indeed working!!

AK..You are so faithful with your exercises!! Keep up the good work!

Manna .. Hope you don't get too much rain! We were under a watch on Saturday, but never got that much rain.

I did a bit of shopping at the grocery store. The chemicals in the stores are horrendous. Be careful, everyone! Don't stay in there very long!!

Hiker .. I'm off to get ready for our Bible study at church tomorrow. Ours is only once a month. The study at our condos will start at the end of August. I think we will be studying the book of James.

It was really nice out today. I think the high was about 82. Nice day again tomorrow.

I did my balance exercises.

Spent time cleaning raccoon poop off my top deck. Nasty. [Eek!] Not sure why I had a raccoon up there as no food and my chimney is capped. Hope raccoon has not found a way into the attic. Putting out ammonia in a dish and on rags on deck tonight to see if that helps.

Called empty church lot next door to suggest they move all their branches and brush that is near my yard as we are seeing skunks and ground hogs etc. My neighbor thinks the church house has raccoon in it. It is for sale and so I know they don't care. Sadly they didn't care about their neighbors when the church was open there.

Went to get my glasses adjusted. Big hassle. First they said my appointment is tomorrow. I don't know if they messed up or I messed up but I convinced them to fit me in.

As I suspected my prescription was off. I tried to tell them that last Friday but they would not listen. [cussing] The optician was very good and tried different lenses with same power as new lenses but a different curvature.

He figured out the old curvature in my left eye had not changed. So, MD said no need to recheck with another appointment and they will make new lenses. Go back in 2 weeks to get them. Sigh.

Had a kind but firm talk with my neighbor who has a precocious 4 year old girl and a 2 year old boy. They seem to think my yard, garage, and porch is their playground. I don't want anyone hurt. Last evening they were jumping off my porch and banging on the metal railing with a pipe. Had to use my teacher voice and the girl just said, "Oh you saw us?" They do not know how to discipline their kids.

I am done complaining now. [Big Grin] Going to totally chill out this evening.

Slow morning but once caffeinated made a brunch of bacon, scrambled eggs, toast and grits.

Managed to exercise on a full tummy so did the usual routine.

Afterwards went to the local hardware store and made a Home Depot run.

Lugged four 45 pound bags of river rock, one bag of pea gravel, 3 t-posts, a roll of vinyl carpet runner and 2 different grass seed containers.

My rain barrel, landscaping fabric and staples are being delivered tomorrow so I need all the other stuff to complete a couple more yard projects.

Hiker glad your shoulder and knee are feeling better. I sure hope you can get rid of that raccoon! Also what's up with your neighbor?!

Manna I tried diatamaceous earth for fleas on my nephew's dog and around his house and property. It didn't work on fleas. Wish it did because it's cheap and nontoxic.

TuTu I envy your cooler weather. This week we're supposed to have temps in the high 90's! I have lots of yard projects so think I might have to break out the water hose and wet myself down to keep cool!

See you guys tomorrow!

Wow AK, you are really getting some exercise lugging those bags of rocks around!

Have a chiropractor appointment today. Something is out of alignment because I'm feeling dizzy depending on how fast I move or how I move my head.

Not doing much today.

Manna-hope they dizziness goes away. If it doesn’t, see an audiologist. You might have bppv. That can be fixed pretty easily.

AK—we will just call you Wonder Woman.

I went grocery shopping this morning. Then I did my knee exercises and then I watered my outside plants.

My shoulder is hurting again and my knee never stopped hurting but the PRP shot in the shoulder is really not supposed to take effect for at least a month and it’s only been two weeks. Or it may not work at all. Trying to think positive about it.

I braved the DMV to renew my driver’s license and came out alive. It wasn’t as bad as I expected except that it was really hot inside. Because I showed up with my walking stick they were very nice and let me come right in and not have to stand in a long line outside. I felt kind of felt bad about that but not bad enough to go stand in line outside.

I entered the summer reading program at the library and won a $10 gift certificate to a Garden shop. I never win anything when I do these reading programs so that was an added bonus for the day.

Now I am off to find the flyswatter to get rid of this pesky fly that’s been bugging me all day. Have a great evening everybody!

Received 2 of my orders and waiting on my rain barrel. Finished the seat covers for the chairs on the front porch. My Mom did the chair back covers. They look so much better than just the light brown vinyl that's on them.

Afterwards I did all my usual workouts. I'm trying to stay in shape for all the landscaping I have to do. Hopefully by being in better shape I won't get injured.

Keeping my fingers crossed.....

Manna I get bad headaches from an old neck injury and one thing that helps me is if I tuck in my chin and try not to have a forward head. Looks weird but it sure helps. Hope you feel better!

Hiker you make me laugh! Wonder Woman my eye! I do things then it takes me forever to recover. Happy to hear that you survived the DMV! Oh and we bought one of those electric fly zappers that looks like a tennis racket. It works great!

Back to watching Bonanza with my Mom.....

The chiropractic adjustment took care of the weird dizzy, off balance stuff. My lower back and hip were in surprisingly good shape.

Had beautiful weather. Not humid for the first time in awhile! No air conditioner needed at all today. Washed a couple loads of laundry.

Didn't do much else besides gab on the phone with my sis-in-law and my cousin.

Didn't sleep well so up by 5:30 and started working in the yard by 6:30.

Dug my trench on one side of the shed, lined it with 12 year landscaping fabric and used a rubber mallet to tack it down with 6 inch galvanized staples.

Used my 4 bags of river rock and realized it wasn't enough for an almost 11 foot trench. Ran to Ace and picked up 5 more 45 lb. bags of river rock and one more bag of pea gravel.

After filling the trench raked a bit and mixed topsoil and composted manure and spread it around bare spots. Spread grass seed and watered and am calling it a day!

Thought I could exercise but am wiped out so doing 2 loads of laundry instead.

Manna happy to hear the chiropractic visit fixed you right up!

Time to veg and wait on my laundry and rain barrel delivery.

See everyone tomorrow!

AK—that is a lot of rocks! My shoulders ache just thinking about moving it.

I went to dentist this morning for a cleaning. My beloved hygienist left to work for another dentist so I had what is called a roving hygienist. She moves from office to office to fill in as needed. My teeth were fine, thank God.

Stopped at library on way home. 7 books came in all at once. Better start reading. Have 2 weeks although I can renew some for 2 more weeks if needed.

Did my balance exercises. Then went for a short walk.

My Bible study is this evening via zoom. So, I am going to go finish my homework for it now.

See you tomorrow. 😃

AK .. That's OUCHY!! Friday is a day of rest for you! I hope the trench works!

hiker .. Good job on the dentist! Hope the Bible study went well.

Manna .. Glad the chiro helped out! I need to go see mine. I have not seen him since December!!!

MAYBE I saw him in January, but I don't think I did. My neck is not happy about it.

I did a quick stop at the grocery store after getting my haircut. Washed clothes, watered plants .. that's about it.

I also did my online training for OCC. Because I'm a Church Relations Year-Round Volunteer, I have to do training so I know what the HECK I'm talking about! LOL

Regarding Bible studies, we had our monthly study at church on Tuesday. We just space ourselves 6-10 ft apart in the fellowship hall. Works great!

Our study is called "Not Forsaken" by Louie Giglio. It's very good and we've learned a lot about God our Father.

It focuses on how our relationship with our earthly fathers affects our relationship with our heavenly Father.

Mostly recovered from yesterday thanks to pain pills and muscle relaxers. Muscles are still sore and stiff. Guess I'm getting old!

After another run to Home Depot and Ace Hardware came home and worked out to my 3 DVDs. Also did my facial exercises and pelvic routine. Have to stay in shape for the rest of my landscaping chores.

My rain barrel still hasn't arrived. I ordered it from Walmart and it was supposed to be here Wednesday. Sigh.....

Hiker nice to hear how diligent you are with your exercises! I downloaded a self-help book from the library and only read it one evening. I might have to look for something more interesting. LOL!

TuTu I wish I could rest today but I picked up 5 bags of topsoil and 5 bags of compost/manure that I have to unload when it gets cooler. Sigh... I need to break out my clippers and try to cut my hair again. Last time wasn't too bad so hoping I'm getting the hang of it. Interesting bible study you have going on there.

Hope everyone has a wonderful evening!

I stuck close to home today. No appointments and no errands.

I watered my outside flowers.

Did my knee exercises.

Went for a short walk.

Made a meatloaf and froze half.

Took a short nap.

AK—I bet Home Depot knows you by name or by your credit card number by now! [Big Grin]

I stayed home all day. I cooked chicken this morning and then completed the King Ranch Chicken for supper. It was good!

I need to go water my flowers. I went on the balcony this morning and watered a few. Need to do more.

I need to get a life.

Sitting here just drinking a cup of joe. No exercise today but my Mom wants me to run to Lowe's and make her payment and pick up a light weight vacuum for her from Bed Bath and Beyond.

I finally called Walmart to find out what the holdup is in regards to my rain barrel. They told me it was out of stock and wouldn't be available until October! I guess they would have made me wait until then! I'm so mad! That was the first and last time I order from them.

[cussing]

Hiker that meatloaf sounds delicious! I think I'm going to stay out of Home Depot for awhile and shop online for a rain barrel.

TuTu your chicken dish sounds delicious too! Cooking and watering plants counts as exercise!

Off to shop online for a rain barrel!

Cleaned my deck of raccoon poop again. Not sure why they are using my deck as their bathroom.

My neighbor brought over 2 traps. We set them on the cement patio below because if we trap a raccoon it would tear up the wood deck trying to get out.

Baited the trap with marshmallows. Was going to use tuna but am trying to avoid trapping s skunk.

Did my balance exercises.

Did a load of laundry.

Grilled salmon for lunch.

The rest of the day I am going to be lazy.

Glad to know that cooking and watering plants counts as exercise! It is definitely something that is hard to do if we are ill!!

Hiker.. Tell those raccoons to take a HIKE! Maybe you can call an animal expert to find out what to do.

Expect a lot of noise if you trap one. WOW.

Went to church today and worked on OCC while hubby was getting ready for Sunday service. Got a pretty good start on inventory.

We drove through town and it looks busier than what we have been hearing. That is good news.

Going to bed soon .. get up early on Sundays.

NITE!
