Here we go with another week of posting our activities to encourage one another to be as active as possible.

If you're doing PT exercises, cooking, walking, gardening, laundry, weight training, running, kayaking, etc. please post it here.

Shopped some more yesterday and picked up some slippers, new jeans and a pair of pants for Josh.

Having neck problems again that's giving me a whopper of a headache.

Still doing my at home PT for my SI joints and shoulder.

Made a broccoli salad already for dinner tonight. Heating up precooked pork loin slices, sauteing some carrots and boiling some red potatoes for Mom and Josh. I'm still fasting so will have some organic chicken broth.

Hiker that Life Alert sounds like a real good idea. We have a bracelet device that came with our alarm system.

TuTu that was a long time to go without water! We had to have our water pressure valve replaced not to long ago too. Oh, and way to go on that awesome bargain at Khol's!

See you guys tomorrow!

Thanks, AK!! I hope your neck stops being such a PAIN!!! (and hope you can eat again soon)

Might be a good idea to find your safest foods and then you can eat those when you start having trouble.

We had a nice service .. I think about 35 people came. Four were visitors.

Next week I will be doing the sermon while Pastor is gone. This could get interesting. I'm going to talk about the Rapture. Gotta keep researching! It will be mostly an informative talk, not a real sermon.

Came home and fixed steak, black-eyed peas and cheese sticks.

I'm really looking forward to a cool front that should arrive here on Thursday. I hope we don't get another late heat wave like last year.

C'mon FALL!

AK--Everyone is shopping for clothes. Not me!

Tutu--you sure picked a tough topic to talk on at church. I am sure you will be great!

We had torrents of rain this morning and chances of rain all week. We really need the rain, but I am hoping to get to my parents Th or Fri and visit outside. So, don't want rain then.

I went to church via zoom.

Ate leftovers for lunch. I grilled salmon, asparagus and sweet potato yesterday--enough for two meals.

I did a load of darks today. Now that the rain has stopped would love to visit outside with a friend, but way too windy.

I sorted through some clothes. Some jeans and pants are too tight due to my weight gain. [shake]

A few pairs of jeans that fit are too long. Finally decided that since I don't have a sewing machine and I didn't want to baste them that I would spend some money and take them to a tailor or sewing shop on Tuesday. The total cost for hemming 4 pairs of pants would be less than buying one new pair. Never got around to it last year.

I need to get this done as I will need my jeans later this week. Only in the upper 60's today due to the rain and wind. My days of wearing my comfortable shorts are about over for the year.

Talked to mom who refused to do the free balance assessment last week at the retirement center. Said she and dad would fail it. That was the point, so they could get some help. Sigh. She is still not on board with a life alert system, but said she would ask Dad.

Off to call my brother so we can strategize on how to get my parents to get some more help. He is as frustrated as I am trying to deal with the financial stuff that mom can't or won't give him.

Happy Labor Day!

Actually I’m having pretty much of a regular day here.

I did my knee exercises.

I went for a walk and then my knee started complaining too much so I cut it short.

Took my recycling over to the large bins at the grocery store.

Grilled some lamb patties and then took a little nap.

I’ve been sitting out on the back porch reading. It’s a nice cool day here although a bit humid. We’re expecting storms later.

Guess I will drag the garbage cans down to the curb along with the landscape waste.

Saturday we planted saffron bulbs and two peach trees.

Beautiful weather - no need for the air conditioner. Brought all the wash in again except for the load with tea towels & dishcloths. I took a nap and didn't get them out early enough to finish drying.

Want to transplant some of the baby trees that are outgrowing their starter pots into something bigger.

Hubby was feeling rather toxic so did a foot detox after lunch instead of before bed like usual.

Hiker .. Sorry to hear about the knee.... grrrr!!!

Manna .. the weather sounds nice!

I didn't feel well today, so I vegged out most of the day. Feel better now.

I went to pick up food this evening. It's so hard to deal with dishes when you are under a boil order. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!! LOL

I think we will be lucky to get the OK on the water before Friday. The holiday has really messed us up.

I'm trying to research for my talk on the Rapture, but my printer is rebelling!! I went on You Tube to try to fix it but it didn't work.

So for now, I will send the stuff to hubby's printer. (duh) He doesn't print that much stuff at home and I totally forgot that he had a printer too. Man, I'm getting OLD!! [Wink]

Our cool front won't be very cool, so that's disappointing. In Texas, they are VERY unhappy because it's been really hot and they were also hoping for a cool front.

I'm having one of those online home parties next week so I need to get an invitation list together ASAP.

Hope everyone has a great evening!!

I had trouble sleeping because I drank 3 small cups of coffee with Josh last night. So in bed around 3:30 and woke up around 7:00. Ugh!

Made some carrot, apple and red cabbage juice and chugged a couple of small glasses.

Vaccumed, cleaned the windows and interior, and also washed me and Mom's car this morning. Also ran a couple errands. Later spent a couple hours saturating the lawn with water.

So I'm beat but chilling to some 70's tunes. [Cool]

TuTu I'm very impressed with you doing the sermon and all! Go TuTu! Your Sunday dinner sounds so good, especially the black-eyed peas!

Manna how do you guys do your foot detox? Just thinking of those peach trees and saffron is making my mouth water!

Hiker my friend's mother said 'why is she shopping for clothes? she can't go anywhere!'. So true! I'm fasting again so am losing my Covid weight and need smaller clothes. Sure hope you can make some headway with your folks!

Off to chillax gang!

[Cool]

AK, two ways to do foot detoxes... one is Epsom salt soaks and the other is an ionic foot detox.

Made Mom a late breakfast of eggs, bacon, grits and toast. I had a fresh carrot/apple/cabbage juice.

Waiting for Mom's 2:30 phone appointment with her GP and afterwards we have an appointment at the bank at 3:30.

Other than that I plan of just relaxing.

Manna I can't afford the Ionic foot bath so using Epsom salt is right up my alley!

See you guys tomorrow!

AK-I just have to say that carrot cabbage apple juice sounds disgusting. [Big Grin]

I spent a lot of time on the phone today. I talked to medical general about life alert buttons.

Then I talked with the administrator at the doctors practice where I go. They will not let me switch back to my old GP. I went to one appointment with a new one and didn’t like her. But I guess 16 years with my old GP counts for nothing.

I am unsure what I am going to do with that situation. The other GP in that medical practice that I wouldn’t mind seeing is not accepting new patients.

I did my balance exercises.

Took four pairs of pants to be hemmed and will pick them up on Friday. Worked on my Bible study.

More rain coming tonight. We got almost 2 inches last night. Cooling down.

My blue asters finally have buds on them. Hope they bloom soon.

I went grocery shopping this morning.

I did my knee exercises.

Worked on Bible study.

Went for my re-exam of my eyes. I had them examined in July and got new lenses. Then got a new left lens in August and still had blurry vision. This time she said they had made the prescription for my distance vision too strong, but everything changed a bit on my prescription.

Hoping third time is the charm and in two weeks I get the third set of lenses for the summer.

Meanwhile I think I will wear last year's glasses rather than the too strong ones. Crazy!

I haven't seen any hummingbirds for a few days, but my friends in town have. Not sure where mine disappeared to.

Off to think about dinner and then relax.

Did my YouTube at home PT for my SI joints and shoulder.

Was up early around 6:30 and got ready for the day. Was on the phone trying to make appointments for my Mom and believe it or not that took all morning!

Around noon took Mom and gassed up my car, picked up an RX, returned some faulty KN95 masks at the PX and shopped for a few groceries at the commissary.

Hiker I read your post yesterday and had to agree with you about the juice. Gave me tummy problems and it was pretty awful so I poured it down the drain. Yay! Can't believe you can't go back to your old GP! That just doesn't seem right! Hope there is a way somehow to change back. Also what is up with your glasses? Might have to find another place to get your glasses!

Well...I'm off to veg and have a cup of peppermint tea.

I did my balance exercises.

Met with Bible study group via Zoom. Intro to Daniel today.

Drove the hour to my parent's retirement center and sat outside with my mom and dad. Dad is in bad shape--very thin and didn't say a word the whole time. Part of it is that he is deaf, but part is problems from a stroke.

Mom has been resisting visits for fear of Covid. Now she is excited about having me come again. Wish we could visit inside as it was chilly and windy today, but I will take what I can get.

Stopped by the post office on the way home to mail stuff for mom to my brother.

Filled my hummingbird feeder. Haven't seen any hummers for a few days. Where did they go? My friends still have them at their feeders.

Guess I will have leftover spaghetti sauce with rice pasta tonight, zuchinni and a salad.

No exercise due to a long busy day. Up at 7:00 and out the door around 8:15 and home around 5:00.

Me and Mom had to go to Ft. Benning to renew my ID which took all morning! From there took Mom to get a urine test at her GP's office. 3rd stop was the bank which took about an hour and finally to CVS to make prints of some photos.

Whew! I'm beat!

Hiker, yay! So happy that you finally saw your folks! Sure hope your Dad is going to be OK. BTW, can I come by for that delicious dinner? [Big Grin]

Well off to watch some news.

I'm so glad you saw your parents, hiker! It's been such a long time. I'm sorry your dad wasn't talking. That's so sad. I'm glad your mom was excited about your coming back again!

AK .. Sounds like a busy day for sure!!

I did some OCC shopping at both of our Walgreens stores. They had all their summer toys and shoes on sale for 90% off. I spent about $50 and have a full trunk. LOL.

One of our OCC team members at church mailed me a $100 gift card from Target. She wants me to go buy whatever we need. She is also the one who donated 50 soccer balls.

I'm not that excited about shopping during COVID but I'm careful and think I will do OK. It's the disinfectants that are so rough right now.

Well...I need to shut down and do some reading about the Rapture.

Gotta take good notes.

See ya tomorrow!!

Today I turned 58. I received a lot of nice cards and phone calls.

But otherwise it is a regular type day.

Did my knee exercises.

Made a meatloaf.

Ran errands—picked pants up from tailor. Dropped a package at UPS, stopped at library.

Went for an walk.

Waiting for Jim to come mow.

Just relaxing tonight.

Yes.....happy birthday Hiker! Did you pick up a special dinner?

TuTu 90% off sounds like my kind of sale! Went to Marshalls and picked up a pair of denim shorts, a v-neck white t-shirt and 2 pairs of slippers.

Had to take Mom for a hearing aid checkup and cleaning and 3 different places to pay bills. Squeezed in a bit of shopping afterwards.

No exercise today. Decided to veg after coming home.

See everyone later!

AK--I just had leftovers last night, but I did open the tiny bottle of champagne that my BFF gave me.

Has been raining on and off all day.

I did my balance exercises and a load of laundry.

Cooked a healthy lunch.

Am reading this afternoon.

Happy Birthday, Hiker!

Folded all the clean wash from yesterday.... 11 loads worth.

Refilled my bulk containers of raw sugar, oatmeal, corn starch and pop corn.

Babysat my brother's puppy while they went to the beach Fri & Sat. Forgot how energetic puppies are!

Attended a VIP sneak peek of a friend's coffee shop this morning. They made pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, brownies, panini or English muffin breakfast sandwiches, SOS on ciabatta bread, avocado toast, eggs, bacon and I'm sure I'm forgetting some items.

Everything looked delicious! I picked up 2 pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, one for Josh and one for my Mom for tomorrow.

Still doing liquid fasting so I had 2 awesome lattes.

No PT today but spent a few hours cleaning my Mom's room from ceiling to baseboards and everything in between. Vacuumed her room and mine and finished up around 7:00 this evening.

Want her to have a clean healing place to recover after her treatment this month.

MannaMe that's a ton of laundry! I like buying things from my local health food store. They have all kinds of grains, beans, herbs, seasonings, etc in bulk containers which you bag up yourself. It saves me quite a bit of money!

Hiker that champagne sounds so good! I received a thank you bottle of homemade pineapple wine today at the sneak peek. I might try some but pineapples are on my do not eat list along with wine but I might try just a wee bit.

Well....Off to read myself to sleep!
