Hi, everyone!

Hope your day is going well. I hope hiker doesn't have ice.

Manna .. your location sounds perfect!

AK .. It's nice that it's warmed up there. I think we will get yucky weather on Wednesday.

Hi TuTu! Thanks for getting us going this week!

After making brunch for me and Mom I headed to the gym. Walked 2 laps before, after, and in between the 20 minutes on the elliptical and 10 minutes on the rowing. I'm so proud of myself!

Then headed to the grocery store and bought some green leaf lettuce, zucchini, apples and white bean/edamame hummus.

Going to try and eat more fruits, veggies and protein cutting down on carbs and sugar.

Might even have to dust off the Buns of Steel workout CDs again. Have lots of heavy duty yard jobs coming up and need to be in better shape so I don't end up at the ER. LOL!

Hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Kudos, to you, AK, for getting back into exercise.

Get some help on the those heavy duty yard jobs. And I don't mean just look at youtube. [Big Grin] Get your nephew to help.

The ice storm will start tomorrow morning and I need to put out some ice melt tonight. Last night's snow never materialized but I am glad I soaped the shovels anyway (like ski wax to get the snow to slide off).

I did a load of laundry.

Watched the service at the National Cathedral today--a bit of a change from zooming my own church.

Called mom.

Went to recycling again.

Entered my data into Project Feeder Watch.

Have a great week! [Cool]

The pond froze over long enough that the children could go skating this afternoon. They dug out the bag of skates and found enough to wear, though not exactly the best fit. We shall need to watch for more skates.

Started snowing after they came back in. Its not accumulating very fast, but it is white out there.

Took a nap this afternoon. Will try calling my SIL to gab awhile tonight.

Made Shepherd's pie for supper tonight.

AK--Happy Birthday!! [Smile]

Manna--I used to ice skate every weekend as a kid, but at the rink. In college in MN we would play broomball which is like hockey. Played on ice but no skates and you use a broom to move the ball to the net. Crazy fun.

Today I did my knee exercises.

I made some cranberry sauce to go with the chicken breast that is now in the oven. Will steam so broccoli and toss a salad for dinner as well.

Worked an hour on my Bible study.

Called my mom and my brother.

Coroner's office called me and they finally have closed my dad's case and decided it was accidental as he fell and broke his femur. So, tomorrow I call the funeral home and will either have them mail me the final death certificates or arrange to drive the 70 miles to pick them up.

Storm is moving slower than we thought and we did not get any snow/freezing rain, yet. Coming this evening and we are under a warning until noon tomorrow.

I loafed around today! Baked 36 loaves of bread.

Was on a conference call with some friends tonight.

Light snow yesterday. Light rain today. More rain overnight with rising temps. Supposed to get up to 50 degrees tomorrow by lunch time and sunshine in the afternoon!

Did one load of towels this morning. The rest will wait till tomorrow.

Where'd my post go from yesterday?! Guess it's floating around in cyberspace.

Thank you Hiker! I know you're relieved about your Dad's case being resolved. Your dinner sounds delicious!

Manna you're funny! We need more laughter! My friend...that's a lot of bread! How do you manage not to eat into your profits? [Big Grin]

I went to the gym this morning and managed 20 minutes on the elliptical and 10 minutes on the rower. Walked 2 laps before, after and in between switching machines. I'm sore today!

Had a great BDay! Watched the live action version of Mulan, which me and Mom enjoyed. Mom treated me and Josh with take out Italian. We've never tried this place and they were great. I chose veal marsala, fettuccine with bolognese sauce and a Caesar salad. Mom had seafood on angel hair pasta and Josh had chicken parmesan.

We had individual creme brulee which I picked up earlier.

I must be getting old because all the excitement wore me out! Time to read and hit the hay!

Ak--Birthday dinner sounds wonderful.

We had a bit of snow/ice last night and this morning but not nearly the amount that was forecasted.

So I cleared the drive and sidewalk of snow and put down more ice melt.

I did my balance exercises.

Worked on Bible study.

Cleaning lady came for her once a month cleaning. So, I went downstairs with my mask on while she cleaned upstairs with her mask on and then we switched places. I am always a bit leery about having her here due to covid, but using my vacuum on my stairs is too much for my shoulder and frankly she cleans the bathroom much better than I do.

I wrote a letter to a friend while she was cleaning. Heading down to the mailbox by the street to stick it in. Mail running late today.

Hiker I think that's OK with you both wearing masks. Sounds like you had quite the workout today! Hope your shoulder is alright.

Went to the gym after lunch and did my 20 minutes on the elliptical and 10 rowing. I varied my rowing today with 5 minutes overhand and 5 minutes underhand. I enjoy rowing but it kinda bothers my bad shoulder a bit. Also walked my 2 laps before, after and inbetween machines. I did drag out my old workout DVDs but that's as far as I got.

Polished off my leftovers from yesterday and am snug in bed at 8:30 and ready to read.

See you all tomorrow!

AK--Rowing bothers my shoulder. I loved my rowing machine that I bought used for $10. It lasted for years, but when it broke I did not buy another one.

I went grocery shopping this morning. In and out in 20 ninutes.

Did my knee exercises.

Called my mom and then talked a long time with my buddy from Florida.

Spent time on the internet searching for a specific lightbulb that fits the lights in my ceiling fans. I can't find them at any local stores. Not willing to order lightbulbs to be shipped as they will just break or the filament will break. I don't like the LED lights for reading areas.

Off to read.

Hiker .. Did you try Home Depot, or do you have one? I had to find special ones too, but located them at HD.

I wouldn't like rowing either. Nope. More power to you, AK!!

Manna .. That's a lot of bread! Quit loafing around!! lol

Let's see .. We got another snow last night. Woke up to a beautiful world. I'm in SW Missouri and this is the third snow we've had. Each time it's been short and sweet and gone by the next day.

This winter is so much more normal than the past 8-10 years.

I was supposed to get my haircut early this morning but didn't venture out. I think I could have made it, but I got it rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon.

I've been tempted to call my housekeeper. She has not been here since Dec. 2019!! Sheesh!! There is one tub I need her to clean for me.

I've only been able to "stab" at it. My "new" shower is just fine because I wipe it down each time.

It's nice that the housekeeper lives in our neighborhood, so it's easy for both of us. If she only came to clean that bathroom, we wouldn't have much exposure to each other.

I've been happily doing embroidery, little birds and even some crochet. The crochet stirs up my carpal tunnel, so I'm doing it only a few minutes at a time.

I want to make a hot pad for a friend. I've managed to make one, so of course, I had to go for two! LOL

See ya later, gang.

Ha! Loafing around is fun! I'm going to do some more of it tomorrow! Won't do as many, it has slowed down a little this week. Which is typical for the winter. Measured out all the flour & salt for tomorrow.

Did some desk work and got 3 envelopes in the mail today.

Need to call the bank tomorrow as there's a deposit that doesn't match to what mine was... I like the one they put in!

Last evening I helped with the last coat of paint in the bathroom. Today hubby sanded & mudded the outside wall of the bathroom. Still have the shelves to finish on the outside wall on the other side of the door.

Today the goats were escaping their pasture too many times. They ended up penned in the barn. Tomorrow someone needs to set up a camera and catch where they escape. Sonny said they don't try escaping while he's watching.

Daughter is baking cookies tonight - she was hungry for chocolate cookies with white chocolate chips in them. So we all get to enjoy some cookies!

Ugh...dizzy today so didn't go to the gym. I did two loads of laundry and worked on my puzzle. Feel some better this evening. I think my histamine must be up.

Hiker my shoulder has been hurting. Think I might have to try 30 minutes on the elliptical and skip the rowing. [Roll Eyes]

TuTu I've been cutting our hair since Covid reared it's ugly head. I didn't do to good of a job this time on my own hair. I might buy a gadget from Amazon that looks like a comb but has different size guides so you can cut your hair evenly. Hope it'll help me.

Manna those cookies sound so good! Sure hope you can find where the goats are getting out.

See you all tomorrow!

Manna--I get a kick out of hearing about your goats and I salivate at the cookies!

AK--Hope you are feeling better.

I had Bible study via Zoom this morning.

Went to get my hair cut.

Did my balance exercises.

Talked to mom.

I actually started on my income taxes. Won't finish for awhile, though, and not expecting a refund. Rats!

Time to read and then fix dinner.

Today was loafing day again! I baked less to sell today as it is slow at this time. I baked 3 pans of bread and 1 of rolls for us this time!

One daughter mixed up a batch of soft pretzel dough, she just made sticks instead of pretzel shapes.

The other daughter was painting the vanity for the bathroom. She did manage to get it finished.

Hubby helped the boys work at the last of the dry walling on the outside wall of the bathroom. Then they were checking into what is needed to put a pull down ladder stairs into the attic and if they can lay flooring up there for storage.

Hubby was on the phone an hour helping my brother with a computer learning session.

I gabbed with my SIL for awhile.

We had about an inch of snow over night, and it got cold. Wasn't out of the 20's today. Had flurries off & on today. Tomorrow sunshine, but still in the 20's.

Our weather is crazy down here! On my birthday, the 25th it was in the 70's. Tonight it's getting down to 30. I think we have a lot of rain heading our way.

Still a bit dizzy so skipped the gym. Took Mom for her first Pfizer Covid vaccine today. She's doing fine and is already scheduled for her second dose in February.

Josh picked me up later so that I could pick up my Mom's car that was in the shop getting a new headliner.

I picked up some Mexican fast food for dinner and we all visited for awhile.

Hiker I need to find something else to read. I finished my downloaded book from the library on time for a change. Might look into thrillers. For years I was addicted to self-help books and have to stay away from those! LOL!

Manna I want some fresh bread with butter! I've been eating my liverwurst spread on rice cakes and I try and tell myself that I like it...sigh...

I'm beat so will finish up watching the news and then call it a night. See everyone tomorrow!

There are some gluten free bread mixes that make one loaf. I have used some that were good. I think one was Bob's Red Mill.

Stayed up too late last night, so slept in a bit.

Did my knee exercises.

Went to library.

Went to pick up supplements from a chiropractor and he wasn't wearing a mask. Grr.

I did take a short walk. Wore my mask, because it was cold and breezy although sunny.

Talked to mom and read a bit.

Am picking up Chinese takeout for dinner and then watching Illini vs. Iowa basketball.

Manna I bought all kind of ingredients to make my own bread and bought a couple of gluten free cookbooks. I have yet to give it a try. I'm just lazy!

Hiker did you stay up late reading? I do that when a book is really good.

Still a bit dizzy today. Took Mom to pay a couple of bills and then we went to the commissary to pick up groceries. She sat at one of the many benches they have in there and I went up and down the aisles and got the groceries. When we got home she was exhausted.

My plan is to clean the house tomorrow, hopefully.

See everyone tomorrow!

Ak... Sorry you are still dizzy .. check your diet. I'll message you later. Your weather sounds like Texas weather! I'm sure it's similar. Even MO is like that.

It's been running 40's and 50's for highs here.

Hiker .. Maybe you could call your chiro next time and ask him to wear a mask because you will be there soon (?)

Thursday I DID manage to get my haircut. Then I went to two grocery stores for items I needed. My last stop was the pharmacy. They didn't have the prescription I wanted so I left.

I was hot while inside the store, so I took my light jacket off. (It was 41 outside.) When I went back in to get some zyrtec I felt faint while trying to use my debit card.

If I feel faint, it's usually brief and no big issue. It continued and the lady suggested I sit down. (yes, I'm headed there!)

She said my face was flushed. I kinda knew since I was so hot. Later she took my BP and it was high (Mine is never high). When she took it again later, it was even higher.

So, at the urging of several people, I called my husband and he took me to the ER. Certainly not the place I've ever enjoyed and definitely NOT NOW!

The BP got higher and higher while there, but now we think part of it was that the cuff slid down my arm too far.

When the Dr came back in 5 hours later, he fixed it and ran it .. It was back down to about 155/80. My heart rate was 110-123 while there. UGH. It made my chest feel so tight and I was short of air.

At my request, they gave me benadryl about 2 hours after I got there. I got to thinking it could be from the mast cells getting riled up.

It DID help some.

NO HEART ATTACK .. so they sent me home, Praise God!

Yesterday, I tried to rest as much as I could. I get antsy, so yes, I cooked breakfast and supper.

I felt better by the evening.

Today I will continue to chill.

Prayers for my safety from COVID, please! My husband too!!

I will be getting a 7 day heart monitor on Monday.

Tutu-I mentioned the mask to the chiropractor but his response was political and he will never wear one. I only go there to buy supplements so I am in and out. My chiropractor who adjusts me wears a mask.

Hope you feel better today and that the heart bp crisis was just a one time anomaly.

AK-hope the dizziness subsides and your mon regains energy.

Back later.

Crazy weather day here with rain and freezing rain and then snow coming tonight.

Went to vision center this morning to get my glasses adjusted. Needed the frames tighter and one lens was coming out of frame. The parking lot there was icy. Ugh. But I was in and out quickly.

Did my balance exercises.

Did two loads of laundry.

Baked salmon and sweet potato and steamed snow peas for lunch.

Watched some Illini volleyball this afternoon and chatted with my BFF.

Probably read and watch some TV tonight. Why deviate from my normal evening? [Big Grin]
