Welcome to the exercise thread! We like to post our activities to encourage one another to be as active as we can.

So if you're out there kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, walking, golfing or even baking, cleaning house, working on the car, etc. please post it here!

Here we go gang with another week!

AK—Thanks for starting us off this week.

I went to church via zoom.

I did a load of laundry.

Filled one of the bird feeders.

I went to drop off my recycling and then went to the ATM. On the way back I dropped off a book at the library dropbox. The problem was I dropped off the book I was currently reading on accident and it had my favorite bookmark in it that my dad always used.

I called the library when they opened and they kindly rescued the bookmark for me, so I went back to get it and checked out a couple of more books while I was there. It’s the first time I’ve been inside the library in over a year.

I called mom and she was in tears. She went down to dinner at noon today which is the time that I made the reservation for. They told her she came at the wrong time and because she came at the wrong time she would have to eat by herself. That is so cruel.

I emailed the administrators at the retirement center and included the confirmation that I received when I made the reservation. I am furious and I will be following up tomorrow with a phone call. Even if an elderly person came down there at the wrong time they should not make them eat alone.

Am loafing the rest of the day! Have a good week! [Cool]

Wow, hiker! That is terrible!! I hope your mom is OK.
Give 'em heck!!

Our friends came yesterday for hubby's show. It was fun even though we had to sit in the back. HAHA ..not used to that!

Went to church today .. came home and crashed for 3 hours. Whew!

hold on .. I'll be back.

I'm back, but don't have much else to say .. LOL.

I'm going to the nursery in the morning and then hope to get an appointment in the city with my acupuncturist.

We have friends coming from S.Texas tomorrow too. They are on their way back to MN.

I need to find time to do my Bible study for Wed. I think I had better start on that tonight!

Happy evening to everyone!

Tutu--Find any fun flowers at the nursery? Sounds like a busy day today. Enjoy your friends.

I slept in this morning and then went to Kroger to use my coupons. And the gluten free oatmeal was on sale so I bought 3 big bags.

Did my knee exercises.

Spent a long time on the phone with the administrator of dining services at mom's retirement center. Think we have everything all worked out.

Worked on Bible study for an hour. Then finished up a mystery by Anne Perry.

Very windy this afternoon. Hoping my garbage can does not blow away tonight after I take it down to the curb.

Mom and I drove the hour and fifteen minutes to my allergist's office today. My appointment didn't go well but I did get a lot of information in regards to the anaphylaxis episode I had. I'll be starting a new medicine tomorrow and need to carry my AuviQ pen at all times even in the house.

We got home really late but I watered all the seeds and the raised garden bed. Also before we left for my appointment I did 2 loads of laundry.

Hiker I can't believe what happened to your poor Mom! There is no reason for them to upset her so much that she cries! I hope everything gets straightened out.

TuTu your social calendar sounds full! I hope you have a great time with your friends!

I'm kind of down in the dumps and tired so it's off to bed I go and get lost in some reading.

AK—Hope your new med works!

Did my balance exercises today.

Went for a haircut. Stylist cut it way too short and she even admitted she went a little crazy. It will grow out and I won’t need to go back for quite a while, so I will just consider it a money saving haircut in the long run. [Big Grin]

It is in the mid80’s today but the wind has helped keep it cooler. Watered some of my perennials that are under the eaves and am counting on tomorrow’s rain to water the rest.

Filled the safflower feeder. “Eats like a bird is a misnomer!”

Have a good evening!

Today was sunny and quite warm. Opened windows, set houseplants outside, set things out of the greenhouse.

I raked the ground smooth under my wash line, planted the grass, scattered the straw and then watered it down.

The neighbor came and tilled the garden area this morning. Can't wait to get seeds in the ground tomorrow!

Hubby and a couple of the children built a row maker, to drag across the garden making rows to plant the seeds in. It makes 2 rows.

Did a couple loads of wash, used the dryer again.

Yes, I found some very interesting flowers at the nursery! I arrived just as one of my best friends was leaving. We had decided to go separately since we would probably have too many plants to take home. LOL.

I'd like to go back again this week, but I have a lot to do.

Went to eat lunch with our friends from Texas. Hubby had a bad morning because he can't see. He also can't find the glasses that he uses for shows. He is ready to quit.

It's really quite sad because he is so talented.

Our friends came over after lunch and we talked until about 6 pm. She brought me a plant from Texas and it was in a very special pot.

It has a label with my maiden name on it. It's an aluminum company. Very nice of her to babysit a plant all the way from Texas!

I gave her some things I've been making and she liked them a lot. We've been friends since I was TWO. Our dads were in WWII together.

So tomorrow I have to return the CPAP they loaned me and pick up a different one. (weird) .. Then my sleep study is Wednesday night.

AK .. Feel free to call me if you'd like to tell me about your Dr's appointment. I'm worried about you!

Manna .. the weather sounds nice there. It was warm and sunny here too. Too warm for me, but way better than summertime!

TuTu glad you're having fun visiting with friends. I'm gonna take you up on that phone call.

See everyone tomorrow!

Tutu--Hope the new "sleeping contraption" works for you and you can sleep at your study tonight.

I went grocery shopping this morning and stocked up on a lot of expensive supplies like paper towels, tp, Dove soap etc. Groceries prices are rising here.

Did my knee exercises.

Worked on Bible study.

Talked to mom. Then chatted with a good friend here in town and then with my friend in Florida. So lots of yakking exercise.

Raining hard now. Not expecting severe weather, but we really need the rain, so hope it keeps up.

Pork chops tonight for dinner and then probably sitting on the couch reading James Patterson's newest novel.

Planted garden today. Lettuce, radishes, beets, spinach, carrots, salsify, parsnips, peas and beans. I didn't have any potatoes to plant or I would have put a row or two in.

Working on writing up the descriptions for my Etsy store things.

Gabbed with my brother a little. He spent more time gabbing with hubby and getting computer issues fixed. That is out of my expertise!

Sonny worked at fixing the lawn mower. Needed a new belt. He used the rototiller until it's belt tore... what is it with belts needing replacement right when you want to use them?

The chickens were scratching up the straw under my wash line. I hope they weren't eating the grass seeds!! I chased them away with the water hose!

Its cloudy, but hasn't started raining yet. The spring peepers are peeping. Its warm enough that the windows are still open this evening.

My new med is a toughie! Had trouble sleeping and felt kinda drunk. As the day wore on I felt better but I just took it again. I can see why you take it in the evening.

I went shopping for a Mother's day gift for my Mom and found a great buy on a Michael Kors wallet. Also found a cheaper one for myself.

Around 7:00 p.m. I went outside and took down the tarp and hog panels that I put on the fence extenders last year. The neighbor's trees, shrubs, weeds, etc. were growing on the fence so I started sawing and pruning as much as I could before it got to dark.

Also watered flowers, grass seeds and the little garden.

I'm getting up super early to put some more grass seed out and get that watered in and then work on pruning and sawing things off of the fence.

At least that's my plan.... [Big Grin]

TuTu that'll work for me too!

Hiker I noticed the groceries at my fav store are going up too. I went to Target to get some soup and organic blue corn tortilla chips because they were so much cheaper there. I think I'm going to see what else they have grocery wise and compare prices.

Manna your garden sounds wonderful! My Mom was telling me to get some more veggies in the little raised garden. Some of my seeds didn't come up so I have plenty of room. If I have the energy tomorrow I might try to squeeze that in.

Well...I think I better move to the bedroom before the new med kicks in. Night all!

[hi]

Manna-can’t wait to hear about your garden harvest later!

AK-hope that new med works out.

Today was an “odds and ends” sort of day.

I started with Bible study group via Zoom this morning.

Then I made and froze a meatloaf.

After lunch I did my balance exercises and then got out my few pieces of patio furniture. Put two chairs and a small table on the upper deck and 2 chairs and a small table on the lower patio..

It rained this morning but is sunny and delightful this afternoon.

Mixed up my hummingbird nectar and hung that feeder. Noticed my neighbor was doing the same thing.

Called mom as usual.

Started working on next week’s Bible study. We just finished Ezra and are moving into Nehemiah.

Gosh darn it! Lost my post!

I was out in the yard for 5 hours! I've been bad and had to medicate because I'm so sore.

Sawing/pruning is done and limbs are at the curb.

Hiker I put our hummingbird feeders out last week. Haven't seen any hummers yet!

The plan for tomorrow is to spray along the fence line with brush killer and put the tarp back up.

Hoping this will post!

Went with my son shopping this morning. Got a couple packs of seed at one store, lima beans, cabbage, bunching onions and mixed colors of peppers. Tomorrow I'll plant them.

Started my baking after lunch, so it was 8:45 till the last loaves came out of the oven. Waiting for the last ones to cool so I can slice and bag them.

Rainy all day. Though not raining all the time. Just a nice gentle rain. The kind that sounds so cozy when I can sit and sew while it pitter patters on the roof. If its raining, there is no need to feel like I should be outside 'doing something'.

I'm tired tonight. See you all tomorrow. Take care eberybody!

Hey, everyone!

I did the sleep study last night. I still had trouble sleeping. Had to take the Ambien 2/3 pill, then later when I woke up I took the other 1/3, plus benadryl and tylenol.

I don't have to do that at home, thank goodness!! I forgot that I had my own sheets in the car. I think part of the problem is that I react to whatever they washed their sheets in.

Can't really smell it, but the chemicals are there. I LOVE my Norwex laundry detergent all the more.

So .. I'm pretty sure I passed the test and I may get my new machine late next week.

I was home before 6:30 a.m. I took a shower so I could wash the gunk out of my hair. I was ready to crash at 9 a.m.

Boom! The contractors arrived next door. When they work on the condo next door, it's just across the wall. UGH!!

I was so tired, I managed to sleep off and on until 10:30. I got up and fixed breakfast and about 1 pm I was so tired I decided to take another nap.

BOOM... the guys came back from lunch!!! This time I didn't get much sleep but it didn't keep me from trying.

At 4 I went out to get some fried chicken for hubby and then went out with my Bible study friends plus a few from the condos at 5:30.

We had a great time! Laughed until our sides hurt.

Came home before 8 pm .. fell asleep off and on from 9-10. (Did I mention how tired a sleep study can make you!??)

So .. it's now 11:00 and I may go to bed soon. We will see!!

I think our rain is finished for awhile. Not sure. We had plenty!! (Plus tornadoes Wednesday morning... the storm came up really fast)

See ya tomorrow!

AK .. text me tomorrow sometime.

Tutu--I had one sleep study and couldn't sleep at all. Came home at 6 AM and fell right asleep.

Got a chiropractic adjustment this morning.

Went to my favorite nursey and couldn't even if find a parking spot. Small local one. I always skip Walmart, Home Depot and buy my plants at local stores. May wait until Monday or Tuesday or after Mother's Day.

Filled the car with gas.

I did divide some of my coreopsis and moved it and will fill in the blank spots with something else later in my front perennial bed.

My oxyeye daisies have not only taken over my huge flower bed out back, but they are not springing up in various places in my lawn. Sigh. I will just tell Bret to run them over in the grass with the mower. When I bought them I thought they were Shasta daisies and would not spread. [bonk]

I oiled a few pieces of my teak furniture. I have a lot more to go but I’ve done enough for that bad shoulder today.

I planted seeds from a yellow pepper and a red pepper we bought from the grocery store. Today I saw the peppers are up!

My sweet potato slips we ordered came today. They are setting water in hopes they will look more lively till morning.

Did most of the laundry today. Still have a couple loads for tomorrow.

Worked at rearranging my sewing room. Emptied a few more boxes. Organized things under my cutting table. Found a spot for the quilt frames so they are out of the way.

For supper we had ham & bean soup and blueberry cobbler.

Got my super strong weed and brush killer sprayed along the fence line and a few other places that had weeds.

Took me longer than I thought to put the tarp back up without the hog panels to support them. Looks OK and will have to do for now.

My Mom wanted to go out today so after yard work we went to our favorite local indoor flea market. I bought a neat white pot for plants and some small files to sharpen my pruners, etc.

Found a lot of scented candles for Mom and some discounted snacks.

On the way home we stopped to pick up Mexican fast food and ran into Josh.

He went and picked up his dog Ada and joined us for dinner. We had a great time.

Manna your seed choices sound wonderful and delicious! I love the sound of rain, it's so soothing!

TuTu glad the sleep study is finished! Can't believe everytime you tried to take a nap the construction started up! Glad you had a good time out with friends.

Hiker I like to get my plants from a local nursery. They offer great advice about plants that the big box stores don't offer. Also they have the most neatest unusual plants. The next 2 days I plan on doing as little as possible to give my shoulder a break too.

Well...I'm starting to nod off so am heading for bed. See everyone tomorrow!

Kept busy most of the day.

Did a load of laundry.

Oiled a few more pieces of teak furniture.

My neighbor came over to help me nail loose boards in my pergola. Some of them I couldn’t reach.

Tried on all my pants, jeans, and shorts and bagged up a quite a few to donate to the thrift shop. Wish I could say they were too big but sadly it is the opposite.

Plan on watching the Kentucky Derby. As a science teacher I will root for Helium who is a long shot with a Midnight Bourbon coming in second. [Big Grin]

Found a cool website where you can order organic fresh produce (and gluten free baked goods) locally. They deliver to your door. Placed an order to see if I like it.

AK .. Sounds like a great time for all of you!! You tolerate scented candles OK?

Hiker .. I liked your choices of Derby horses. I like to watch the Derby, but didn't know it was even on today.

Went to church this morning to set up communion, then to the furniture store (with hubby) to buy a recliner for him.

Then stopped at Michael's for some of those decorative flat marbles for an arrangement at church.

Then off to the city for a MCAS meeting. It was our first one in a year. Only three of us showed up, but we enjoyed each other's company.

After that, we stopped for some BBQ. I just got home (6 pm) I need a NAP!!

Not sure what I will do this evening .. provided I'm able to stay awake!!!

I need to plant some of the things I bought last week. I did plant a few of them.

Have a great day tomorrow!!

Manna .. I want some blueberry cobbler!!!

Got home around 10:00 p.m. from Josh's. We went this afternoon to the same thrift shop me and Mom were at yesterday.

I found a small square table and chairs yesterday and mentioned it to Josh so we went today and he bought it.

He took me out for dinner at the Chinese buffet. I might be needing bigger clothes too Hiker if I keep that up!

Candles haven't been a problem yet Tutu. You've been super busy!

I'm with Tutu in regards to the blueberry cobbler Manna! You've had a busy day too!

Oh, I almost forgot, I finally vacuumed this morning. Our house needs a good cleaning but I don't have the energy to clean house and do all the work in the yard.

See you all tomorrow!
