Welcome to the exercise thread! We like to post our activities to encourage one another to be as active as we can.

So if you're out gardening, walking, sewing, knitting, kayaking, hiking, weight training, etc. we'd like to hear about it.

Here we go with another week gang!

[woohoo]

Made brunch for me and Mom. Had some premade toaster breakfast pastry and an apple/grape yogurt salad that I threw together.

Made a lovely salad to go with our pizza dinner tonight. I'm actually not cooking Sunday dinner and looking forward to having more visiting time with Josh.

Oh, my new Amazon Fire tablet arrived today so I'm dinking around with it. It's about 10 inches long and much bigger than my old one. I think I'll shop around online for a cover and add it to my wish list. I'll have to wait until the first of the month to buy one and I hope and pray that I don't drop it before then. LOL!

See you all tomorrow!

[hi]

Did a load of laundry this morning.

Drove over to mom's. Spent the afternoon looking for her safety deposit box key. Found the little red envelope it fits into but no key. So, I can't get one banking task done tomorrow. My brother has a key but he is 800 miles away. Sigh.

Cleaned out some more files. Mom was not happy that I was shredding checks to accounts she no longer has. Double sigh.

We are going to relax tonight with snacks--shrimp cocktail, cheese, fruit, nuts and chocolate.

AK--Lock that new pad up until you get a good cover. Could be dangerous! [Big Grin]

Not much exercise today!

Two church services, then to lunch. Came home for a two hour nap.

TV watching, Bible study, watching it rain.

Went to the bank for mom. Sorted through some more of her “stuff” and got rid of more papers. Found more hats and gloves that belonged to dad and next trip I will get them to charity.

Drove the hour back to my house.

Did my knee exercises.

Gassed up the car, went to the library, and stopped to buy supplements at my chiropractor. Just beat the rain. We have had about 12 inches since Thursday. Too bad we can’t move it to the parched Western states.

Had a little sunshine, but sky looks ominous again.

I am having shepherd’s pie for dinner. I don’t have that very often. Will go well with a tossed salad.

Need to drag garbage can to curb after rain and wind subside.

Hiker that's sad about your Mom and those checks. Your dinner at your Mom's sounded delicious! Funny about your dinner tonight being Shepherd's Pie because I was just looking at recipes for that yesterday.

TuTu I didn't do too much either today. I'm still not sleeping well and think my histamine must be up. [Roll Eyes]

Today I just made brunch for me and Mom. Fixed her call caption phone for the hearing impaired with the help of their tech department. When I checked the mail got depressed because I owe more GA state taxes. Calling my tax guy in the morning and will try to figure out why I owe even more than what I already paid.

[confused]

Baking day.... 13 white, 6 wheat, 3 cinnamon swirl, 3 cinnamon raisin, 3 italian, and 2 dinner rolls.

Fed & watered and moved the keet & chick cages.

Watered the potted plants and the flats of plants we haven't gotten planted yet.

AK--Remember the old saying by Ben Franklin, "The Only Two Certainties In Life Are Death And Taxes." Sorry you owe more and hope you get an answer as to why.

Very humid today, but no rain--yet! It is predicted for tonight, tomorrow, and Thursday.

I went for a walk early this morning.

Did my balance exercises.

Went back outside and cut the mums down halfway to the ground. Hope they rise up again and bloom in the fall. Was tired off pulling off buds every other day, so am trying this method.

Deheaded some of my coreopsis but have a lot more to do. May wait until they are almost done blooming and then get the electric hedge trimmer out and just do it all at once. I used my grass trimmer for the dianthus a few weeks ago and it is blooming again.

Anyway, didn't last too long in the 78% humidity high 80's temp.

Called mom and then took a short nap.

Off to read another James Patterson book. This one is co-authored with Bill Clinton. They are not great literature but I enjoy reading them, anyway.

First thing today I straightened out my GA tax situation. My CPA said it was GA's fault and GA said my CPA made the error. Anyways, I went ahead and paid the extra amount. It was under $100 so I'm relieved it's not more and I don't owe for 2020. That year was the correct amount that I paid.

So after all that drama I went out and ran errands. Gassed up my car, bought a few groceries, went to a store that carries cookies and soap that my Mom likes and I picked up some netting at the fabric store to gussie up one of my straw hats. I lucked out and found remnants and all together it was about $5.00!

Watered the plants in the carport and on the front porch.

Hiker I enjoy fiction books too, especially on vacay!

Manna...whew...you are a baking machine! I bet your house smells like heaven!

Well, off to work on my hat and maybe a t-shirt for this weekend.

Today I did washing. Hung several loads out on the lines. The rest went in the dryer.

A new friend was over on Saturday and brought a bunch of flower plants that she dug out. We planted those today. Also the last few tomato plants.

Hubby weeded around the Maple tree in the yard making a new flowerbed area.

Sonny went over to a neighbor to run the weed eater for him. Took a shower as soon as he got home in case there was any poison ivy in the weeds.

Manna--Sounds like you have moved to a great area where you are able to make good friends. That's super.

Went grocery shopping this morning.

It has rained most of the day, so did not go for a walk. Although, lawn mowing guy is here now during a rain break.

Did my knee exercises.

Talked to my BFF for a long time on the phone.

Am grilling pork chops for dinner.

Our yard guy came today too! He comes every 3 weeks and our yard was so overgrown with all the rain we've been getting. It looks great now!

Ran just a couple of errands and watched a movie on Amazon with Mom. Other than that just chilling. Finished off the last of the pizza and salad, finally!

Watching a show on UFO's so will get back at it!

Got some cardboard put down in the garden under the sweet potato vines, the watermelons and the summer squash. Also put a few pieces under the tomatoes. It started raining so we quit for tonight.

Finally, a day without rain here! [Smile]

Went to Bible study this morning.

Did my balance exercises.

Went for a walk in the sunshine. Soaking in that vitamin D!

Went to chiropractor. Now relaxing to let manipulation hold.

Happy July everyone!

Busy day today. Took Mom for an echocardiogram. Went to breakfast afterwards and then made one of her payments.

Then it was off to Fort Benning for some water, made another payment and did some grocery shopping at the commissary.

Both of us only slept about 30 minutes last night so we're both wiped out.

Going to download another book to read and am hoping I'll be able to get some rest.

See everyone tomorrow!

NO lovely day here, though I don't mind watching heavy rains. My friend about 5 miles from me registered 7 inches of rain.

I have no idea how much we got here, but it was a LOT. Our creek was wild and I saw waterfalls on the bluffs that I have never seen before.

Just glad it didn't go on and on. Maybe we will dry out soon.

Went to cardiac rehab and Bible study on Wednesday and then met up with friends at another friend's new show. It featured music by the Bee Gees and it was entertaining as well as informative. We had fun.

Today I had PT on my shoulder. Things are improving and I'm really noticing improvement in what I'm able to do at cardiac rehab as well.

Well .. looks like I haven't posted since Sunday. [Eek!]

Tuesday I saw the doctor at the sleep clinic. Their computer/internet was down so they said they would call me when they could access everything.

Based on what I told them, they increased the pressure on my CPAP. Pretty amazing that they can do it remotely. It's Wifi capable.

I never got the info from my sleep study other than it was positive. Oh well.

I agree on the sleep, Manna. I can't function without 7-8 hours myself.

Hope you are sleeping, AK!!

Hiker .. glad the rains stopped over there!

Tutu--So glad that your PT is helping your shoulder and you can do more at cardiac rehab!
[Smile]
Manna--28 loaves? Wow. No wonder you are tired.

We officially got 12 inches of rain in less than 3 days. Boy, did the weeds grow! And the mosquitoes are here just in time for Independence day.

I did my knee exercises.

Then went out to tackle some of the weeds in the strawberry patch and picked some strawberries while I was there.

Trimmed some bushes and ran the hedge trimmer over the coreopsis to deadhead them. They will bloom again.

Filled the bird feeders and made new hummingbird nectar. I am holding out hope that a hummingbird will visit this summer. Only have seen one.

I have a few ants coming back into the kitchen. I think their nests absorbed too much water and they are trying to escape to a drier place. Just wish it wasn't my kitchen. Put out some diatomaceous earth, a Terro trap, bay leaves, whole cloves, and cotton balls soaked in peppermint oil. I will win this battle!

Worked a little bit on Bible study. Really wanted to take a nap, but decided I wouldn't sleep well tonight as it is too late in the afternoon.

Lovely day out with temps in the upper 70's. I can open the windows again tonight, although my allergies really paid the price for doing that last night. Nice not to run AC and get the place aired out.

Have a good evening! [Cool]

Did laundry and hung it out to dry. Had a nice breeze and a lovely comfortable day.

After lunch I did take a little nap, then went out to pull weeds.

Weeded a little in the garden at the oyster plants, dug out some of the meadow tea near the garden to plant in my tea bed. Weeded around the terraced strawberry beds and pathways. Started weeding in the tea bed until it was time to prepare supper.

My turn to cook, meat loaf with sweet & sour sauce, baked sweet potatoes and frenched green beans. I was planning watermelon for dessert, but the children went shopping on the way home from work and bought a pack of mint chocolate chip klondikes!

Had a little shower before supper, so Sonny & I quick brought the dry wash in again.

Think I'll do a little sewing this evening as its not so nice to be weeding on a hill when the grass is wet. I prefer not to slide downhill!

I did get some blessed sleep last night. Had a little help from Natural Vitality's Calm powdered supplement. It has Magnesium, GABA, L-Theanine and Melatonin.

Today I worked on my outfit that I'm wearing tomorrow. They're having an outdoor 4th of July concert downtown so I'm going to be gussied up in red, white and blue! Going solo. Did mention it to Josh but his dog goes crazy because of the fireworks so he can't go.

The karate dojo that I visit for coffee, etc. prepared a dinner so Josh and I stopped by and got some Japanese takeout and we ate dinner with Mom. I had the chicken cutlet with curry and steamed rice. It was delicious!

Manna I was trying to make some puffy sleeves for my t-shirt with red tulle tonight. Needless to say that didn't work out. Wish I would have bought some fabric to make a cute patriotic dress for tomorrow. Enjoy your sewing!

Hiker it's scary how we do same thing sometimes. I made hummingbird nectar too and washed out the 3 plastic flower feeders and refilled them. We had 2 hummers but we haven't seen them for a couple of days now. Sure hope they come back.

TuTu I used to love the BeeGees! I went through a serious disco phase when I was younger and still enjoy dancing to some of those songs.

After 1:00 a.m. already! Time to hit the hay and read for a bit. Night all!

[sleepy]

Been a quiet day here.

I did a load of laundry.

Zipped to the bank and then to Dollar General to buy a card.

Cleaned out a kitchen cabinet that got invaded by ants. It was not a food cabinet--holds my cleaning stuff and other miscellaneous junk. Gave up and sprayed Raid in it. Still have ants roaming the countertop.

Put diatomaceous earth around the foundation of the house.

Dug up some yucca that keeps coming back by my new hydrangea. Yucca was yanked out several years ago, but they are hard to get rid of.

Going to sit on the back porch for awhile.

AK--take a pic of you and your 4th of July outfit. Concert sounds fun!

Manna-- what are you sewing these days?

My latest sewing project is taking ladies dresses and cutting them down to little girls dresses. Sizes 3 - 8. Planning to sell them. Currently the size 8's are the ones I'm working on.

Today I finished weeding the tea bed. Dug up some of the meadow tea and replanted it in the tea bed. Then had one of the boys carry mulch over and dump it in the bed while I spread it around. Finished up by laying upside down plant trays and empty milk crates on top to keep the chickens from scratching it all up.

Finished filling up the second row of sweet potato plants and laid cardboard down partway up the row. Need to get more big pieces of cardboard.

Did 3 loads of laundry and hung them out, including one load of bedding.

Hubby & Sonny fixed the 4wheeler again. Had it running again this evening.

One of the boys moved the goats fence to include the area that is supposed to be for the chickens later. The goats will eat all the brushy stuff and the chickens will eat the grass and little things.

A fox got another chicken yesterday. GRRR! At least its the old hens and not much loss. But there aren't many left of the 12 we brought along.

It sure has cooled off. Closed windows last night and had a light quilt on my bed!

We had nice weather today but I took a 2 hour nap and missed a lot of it. LOL.

I did go to the store for a few things early in the day.

Fixed pork chops for supper.

AK and Hiker .. do you normally get many hummers in the summer?

As for ants .. I had not seen one in a month and after you mentioned the rains and more ants, I saw one this morning. This was after all the rain we had yesterday.

I know in TX, they have trouble with ants in the HVAC outdoor units. I wonder if that is where they are? The unit is right outside my kitchen window.

I've been working on winter hats with my loom. It's really fun. My friend LOVES hats and she's trying to claim all of them. LOL.

I don't even wear them very much in the winter, but I think I will start. I love these!!

Hoping to have some left for the shoeboxes! HA!!

See you guys later!!

PS to manna .. you work so hard!

OH .. and ... I did 8 minutes on the NuStep yesterday! Whoop!!

Even more fun than that is that one of my good friends from church just changed her cardiac rehab time to coincide with mine! So we are going to have some fun!
