Can you believe we flip the calendar this week to September? Time flies when you are exercising! [woohoo]

So, welcome to the exercise thread where we encourage each other to get out and move.

Are you walking, cleaning, gardening, doing laundry? Anything counts or just tell us about your day!

Have a great week!

Praying for those in the path of Hurricane Ida.

Watched church on YouTube. Really good sermon.

Watered newly planted grass seed. Don't think it is going to grow.

Did a load of laundry.

Talked to my brother.

My poor mom has cellulitis by her little toe. Podiatrist kept saying it was a corn but it got worse, so she went to Urgent Care. They prescribed doxy.

So, I spent an hour on the phone today trying to explain to her to take doxy with food, but not with dairy. My mother lives on dairy and was not processing that she would need to eat something besides cereal with milk for breakfast and couldn't have ice cream right after dinner. Seems like her mental abilities are really declining.

Plan on driving over there one day this week to do financial stuff once my brother gets it all set up so, I can check on her foot then. So hard to get into her primary doctor and I don't trust Urgent Care.

Sudden storm blew up this afternoon so I may not have to water grass seed tonight.

Probably going to watch a Hallmark chick flick this evening.

Hiker .. I know that's hard about trying to get through to someone who can't understand. I tried to convince my father in law that you couldn't put raw meat on the same plate with something cooked.

I had to give up trying to explain it as I could see he wasn't going to budge on his position. I think he said both were "good" so they should be OK like that.

I hope things work out when you go to see her.

Our pastor had a great sermon today. Enjoyed it. It rained after church! YAY! We haven't had any for awhile. Even the streets are slick now because it's been so long since it rained. (oil)

I need to do some work for OCC this afternoon. We are mailing out postcards to advertise the Project Leaders Workshop in Sept. Tomorrow we will pick up shoeboxes for two churches here.

Probably about 8 boxes!! Some very generous person donates them each year for our area. We are grateful!

Oh hey... I graduated on Friday! Now I only go twice a week but I really want to go 3 times. Pooh!

I gained a pound or two but I lost 2 inches in my waist!!

Tutu-congrats on graduating. Why can’t you go 3 times a week? Think of weight gain as muscle gain! Muscle weighs more than fat.

Thanks Hiker for getting us going this week. I hope your Mom doesn't have cellulitis. I'm glad you're going this week and can check her foot.

TuTu congrats on graduating! I really need to start exercising! I just can't seem to get motivated.

Cooked a simple dinner of a large ham slice, boiled potato medley, sauteed green beans and a small broccoli slaw salad. Finished with small bowls of Rocky Road ice cream.

Binge watched more of the Chinese historical drama with Mom. Boy are we hooked! She's enjoying it so much! We have both turned into couch potatoes!

Sure hope I can get some yard work done tomorrow. It's still raining off and on here.

Off to play Candy Crush and read. Night all!

hiker .. I DO KNOW I have more muscle, so I'm sort of OK with it. I think eventually the tide will turn and I'll lose some.

I can go three times a week only if I go at 7 am. It's because they have too many people that need to be monitored. It's time consuming and harder if too many are there.

So I can go on Tues and Thurs.

Eventually, I'll be able to exercise for longer periods of time. My hip/back pain is improving. I just have to be careful.

Thanks for the congrats!

Watered outside plants today. Need to do one more sprinkle over grass seed.

Did my knee exercises and my back exercises.

Went for a walk. I haven’t been for a walk in ages so it was a short one.

Talked to my mom. Asked about her infection on her foot. She said she didn’t look at it this morning. Sigh. Still waiting on bank do get some financial stuff done in her town before I drive over there. So much construction I would like to combine trips into one unless I need to take her back to the doctor.

I did squeeze in a short nap this afternoon.

I am going to grill lamb patties for dinner. Salad and broccoli, too.

Need to take recycling and garbage down to curb soon.

Well I went gang busters in the yard today. Picked up trash, sticks and limbs, pulled some weeds, cleared a bit of brush along one side of the fence, trimmed the bushes, repotted 2 plants, cleaned out 4 rectangular pots, swept the carport.

Also went to the hardware store and picked up 5 bags of river rock and finished up the concrete block steps to the shed. I filled the holes with the rock so they're more sturdy and look better too.

Had to make lunch for me and Mom between chores. Picked up Mexican takeout for myself and my Mom's BFF brought some chicken and Japanese pancakes for my Mom to eat for dinner. Thank God I didn't have to cook dinner.

I'm wiped out and vegging watching Dr. Strange.

Hiker your dinner sounds so much better than what I had. I sure hope your Mom doesn't have cellulitis. Please keep us in the loop.

TuTu 7:00 a.m. is so early! I think I might go to the gym early too because I can't seem to find the time to go later in the day. I've lost so much muscle and really need to work out.

See you all tomorrow!

Picked up 900 shoeboxes today!! 500 for my friend's church and 400 for ours.

She usually comes to our party and helps us because her large church is "lame" when it comes to really getting involved.

They could easily pack 1,500 boxes, but the leadership is not behind it. She gets so frustrated.

So my body may not enjoy exercise and PT tomorrow!!

It was kinda cool today to see on our nearby city's news about OUR cardiac rehab unit helping CV patients recover.

They interviewed one of the nurses that helped me.

See you guys tomorrow!

Baking day.

Picked tomatoes this evening. Biggest picking so far! I still have half a row to pick tomorrow morning. It was too dark to finish after my phone call.

Did one load of towels - washed, dried, folded & put away.

Sewed a few sleeves in the little girls dresses I'm working on.

Gabbed on the phone with my brother, my sis-in-law, and a friend today.

I woke up this morning with the worst vertigo I have had since Lyme came into my life 18 years ago.

Tried the Epley maneuver on myself as I have often self treated successfully. Was hanging on to the bed for dear life as I spun and spun. Might have helped some but seeing audiologist tomorrow so she can cause me more anxiety. [Eek!]

Watered the grass seed twice.

Drove over to my mom's town and did some banking. Her old bedspread was torn right in the middle, so I gave her one of mine. The spread I gave her was always too big for my full bed but fit her queen nicely.

Looked at her toe and it really looks red. Gave her the number of a podiatrist. Hope she can get in soon. I would like to take her but I really probably shouldn't be making these trips until the vertigo is fixed although I did fine driving.

On the way out of town I saw a guy beating up his girlfriend so pulled over and called police. Sat there until police came. Unbelievable. She was screaming and yelling and he wouldn't let her go. Scary.

AK .. how ya doing after all of that work?

Manna ..tomatoes .. I haven't eaten one in years, but I do love them!

hiker .. That is terrible about the man beating his wife. May not have been his wife, which is even scarier.

We've lived under two different apartments where a man would beat his wife. One of the guys had a police scanner, so I never called.

(I know that sounds terrible of me, but I was afraid of him myself!)

The other one I think others would call, because the police would show up from time to time. Big jerk!!

We love where we live now! My Bible study leader lives above us.

Today was my first day "untethered" at cardiac rehab. Whoop! Seems to be a good group of people there. I'll be happy when masks can come off.

I did 10 min on the NuStep... 8 min was on level 2. I had to give it up and go back to level one for the last two minutes. It was only my second time to use the second level.

I did 4 min on the arm cranks and 5 min on the ergometer bike. The bike is getting easier now! That's the one I used to do for 30 min.

I ran errands after that and then rested some before heading out to the pharmacy for hubby's prescription and then to PT.

She released me today from PT! I was supposed to go one more time but she won't be there that day and we decided I could graduate. I'll miss her!!

Tomorrow I'm going to the eye doctor because I'm having some visual disturbances. Hopefully nothing big but it has happened about 3-4 times now.

I have Bible study too, but I will miss the first hour. I hope I can get there before they finish.

See ya! [hi]

Tomato day..... Filled my 20 quart kettle full of V8 juice. Canned 17 quarts and 6 pints. The lids are sealing now! The pings are such a rewarding sound.

Also have almost all the laundry washed and dried. Didn't get any of it folded yet. Washed my bedding, still need to put it back on the bed.

Rainy day today. Flood watch from tonight until tomorrow evening due to Ida.

I'm tired tonight.

You all have been busy! I washed my clothes and apron I wore yesterday. Made gluten free pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs for brunch and ran to the grocery store for a couple of things. Other than that I've been trying to recover from yesterday. Arms, legs and back are sore today and I'm moving pretty slow.

Mom made dinner of rice, stir-fried tofu and diakon radish. So grateful that I didn't have to cook dinner again.

Hiker what a horrible thing to see! Glad you called 911 on the guy! Sure hope the audiologist treatment will help!

TuTu scary to deal with such violent neighbors! You are doing such an awesome job at the gym!

Manna you deserve a rest after canning all those tomatoes! I love homegrown tomatoes. The ones at the store are always so disappointing.

See everyone tomorrow!

[hi]

We sat out on the porch quite a bit today because it was cooler with the breezy weather. Enjoyed watching the hummers at the feeders.

Went to audiologist early this morning. She was unable to induce vertigo. So, I am happy about that, but unsure if the vertigo is truly gone or if in that instance I had none. She said she didn't want to try again because if I fixed it with my maneuvers yesterday she could cause more problems.

But I feel very off balance and tired and she said I might feel that way for awhile. I will sleep in my recliner again tonight. She said not to lay on my back or left side for a full week and if after I lay on my back vertigo happens to call and come back.

In others words I was very lazy today.

I did water the grass seed and fill the bird feeders.

Other than that I read and took a nap. Also talked to mom.

Starting to think about what I will have for dinner. Then heading to library.

Manna--those tomatoes sound good. I am beginning to regret turning my vegetable garden into a blueberry/strawberry patch. Hope your patch of land does not flood.

AK--That is a lot of yardwork! No wonder you are sore.

Tutu--That's 2 graduations in a week! Way to go!

First of the month so took Mom to pay one of her bills at Ft. Benning. While there we visited my Dad's grave and put in new faux flowers in the flower urn. Gassed up my car then we shopped a bit at the PX.

We ate lunch out and stopped at the bank then I took Mom home.

I went back out to pay another one of her bills and shopped at a thrift store and Marshalls. Scored big time at the thrift store and bought a couple of light weight jackets and a few tops. At Marshalls I bought some undies and a bigger size pair of jeans. Also found Thayer witch hazel facial toner for my Mom.

Came home around 8:00 and ate leftovers for dinner.

I need to study again for my continuing ed credits to renew my insurance license. I've been procrastinating something fierce and just can't get motivated. I've ordered my classes online a couple months ago!

Off to play some tablet games then I'm hitting the hay. Night all!

Felt a bit better today although still have a headache and stomach ache and am a bit off balance. I am being very careful not to get into positions that might cause vertigo.

Had Bible study this morning. Studied first two chapters of Isaiah. This study will take almost a year to do.

I did go grocery shopping. Had some good coupons !

Filled the car with gas.

Talked to mom.

Watered the grass seed. It isn't growing and I may need to reseed at some point if nothing germinates. Also watered the perennials.

AK .. YOU CAN DO IT!! get going on the insurance stuff. You will feel better once it's done.

hiker .. I hope the next week or so goes well so you can have that out of the way.

Went to exercise today and did well. I actually forgot to do the arm cranks, but maybe that was best. I may have strained a muscle in my arm when we got those OCC boxes.

I think it will be fine by next week. I'm so encouraged by how my hip feels. Life is good!!

Went to the grocery store too.

I just realized I didn't post yesterday.

I was having visual disturbances on Tuesday, so I called the eye doctor. They got me in yesterday and checked my eyes carefully.

Diagnosed with ocular migraines. So weird. Years of migraines in my past, but no real headache with these. I had a sort of bone pain in my face is about all.

So she suggested getting an ultrasound of my carotid artery just to make sure the optic nerve is OK. Mainly because I told her that the first two times I had this it was right after getting up and I wondered if pressure was being put on my neck and optic nerve. She said the carotid can affect that.

So ..... called my cardiologist and they called me back. I missed the call but have to call them again tomorrow.

Took Mom to a thrift store for a bit of fun and exercise. She bought a small scented candle and a great hammer for me. I scored and bought a board game called Last Word and a metal, modern desk top sculpture that I intend to put somewhere in the yard.

Later today I treated the yard for ants and cleared out the grass around the moonflower that I'm trying to grow.

Oh, speaking of growing, I've got Japanese cucumbers and goya that are coming up! My little Mom was so excited! I'm growing them specifically for her.

Hiker I sure hope you feel better soon! You had a busy day today too. Wow, that's a long Bible study! I guess we'll both be studying.

TuTu thanks for the encouragement! Ugh, I don't know why I'm not motivated. Speaking of bone pain, I had a really weird thing happen a couple nights ago. The whole right side of my teeth, lower and uppers hurt like crazy for awhile. Felt like I had a real bad toothache in all those teeth. I'm worried that it was nerve related since I had paralysis of my right eye and have nerve damage and tinnitus of my right ear.

I'm so wiped out today so am headed for bed. Night all!

Ak--Go! Go! Go! Rah! Rah! Rah! Study! Study! Study! Hope your teeth feel better. Do you grind them in your sleep?

Tutu--It's always somethings with our health, isn't it? Thank God for insurance.

I watered the grass seed.

Was able to do my back exercises. Still holding off on the balance exercises for another day or so.

I haven't walked much this summer but went for a 25 minute walk this afternoon and my legs could really tell that I am out of shape! But now that I can't lay down to do my knee exercises maybe this will give me incentive to walk more.

Went to the eye clinic to get my glasses adjusted. Two weeks ago they put in silicone nosepieces which grip really well. But I needed them loosened a bit.

Mom's toe is still infected. She went back to doctor and is now on her second antibiotic and small dose of steroid. [shake]

Hoping we get some rain tonight or tomorrow but not like they got in the northeast. Manna--are you all okay?

A silly squirrel was digging in my petunia pot and ate some of my impatiens. Lol

Yes, we're okay. Its just been busy lately.

Had a nice cool day - lovely sunshine, little breezes. Needed jackets this morning and the boys said their room was cold this morning! The one said he didn't have enough blankets on his bed.

Did the laundry & hung it all out except the towels.

Weeded & mulched the newest flowerbed. Planted some more rhubarb seeds since quite a few of the original seedlings died. I think they were too close to where my son sprayed some weeds. Took cuttings from my geranium plants in hopes of having more for next year.

Had one of the boys tiller the saffron bed. It was finally dry enough after all the rain. It was too dark to plant tonight after we got it raked and the edges straight. So planting saffron is on my agenda for tomorrow.

Hubby worked at the lawn mower engine today. Has it taken apart and washed it clean.

Sonny is taking apart a little chainsaw and cleaning it. Hoping it will work to take along on the 4wheeler to be able to clear brush /saplings from the trails through the woods.

Checked on the 2 yellow jacket nests on the hill - still very active. We didn't get enough sevin dust dumped in the doorways of their nests. Will need to try again.

Ugh...hit something on my laptop and deleted my post!

Busy day of making brunch and doing laundry. Ran a couple of errands then home to dust, wipe down furniture, vacuum and mop the kitchen and bathroom.

Picked up dinner so at least I didn't have to cook.

Hiker thank you for the encouragement! Way to go on the walk!

Manna way to go on all the gardening! Sure hope you get those yellow jackets!

This is the abbreviated version of my earlier post and hope I can manage to post this one! [lol]

See you all tomorrow!

Did a load of laundry this morning.

Walked about 25 minutes.

Went to the library.

Talked to mom 4 times. She kept having questions about how to take the steroid and new antibiotic. And she forgot to get bandaids at the pharmacy today even though I had her write it down last night. She is to keep the infected area clean and dry and covered. Turned out she was using Vaseline over the cut. No wonder her whole toe is inflamed. [loco]

Took a nap in my recliner.

Talked to my BFF for over an hour.

Been misting today but no steady rain which we really need.

Off to cook rice noodles for my spaghetti sauce. Then watching Illini football game on TV tonight.

Laid out all the saffron bulbs before I started planting them. Had 238 bulbs to plant. Worked at it until it got too warm. Finished planting them this evening. There is a little more room at the end of the bed so I think I'll buy a few more bulbs to fill it up.

Weeded my asparagus patch.

Decided where to move the grape arbor. Oldest son dug two of the holes for the posts. Need to dig two more. We'll use cattle panels for the 'roof' for the vines to grow on.

Picked the late corn - enough for corn on the cob for supper and 8 extra ears for the fridge.

I had dug a few potatoes but didn't have anything to put them in to bring them in to the house. After supper and it was getting dark, I got a bucket to go bring the potatoes in. As I went down the walk I had a fright!

There was a snake! Laying partly on the walk. I stopped short with a gasp! He moved off into the yard, headed towards the road. I told hubby & sonny and they came with flashlights. Somebody got the ground shovel & hubby killed it. They are still trying to decide if its a copperhead or a rat snake. I hope its a rat snake!

The boys mowed more of the field today.

Made a snack for me and Mom then I headed out to pick up a few groceries.

Home and prepped romaine lettuce, banana peppers, zucchini, brocolli and cherry tomatoes for a salad I'm making tomorrow.

My brother and his family are coming for a pizza and salad dinner. I bought ice cream for dessert.

At 4:00 this afternoon I went to a local music store for an open mic event they hold the first Saturday of the month. Throughly enjoyed the original and familiar old songs. Each performer played an instrument.

Home by 6:30 and had leftovers for dinner.

Manna I'd be scared too if I saw a snake! I miss living in the country but sure don't miss the snakes!

Hiker I should be watching football tonight since Georgia is playing Clemson. I think I'm just going to hit the hay instead. My housework is catching up with me.

See everyone tomorrow!
