Here with go with another week of exercise! [woohoo]

Are you raking leaves, out walking, going to the gym, cleaning your house for the holidays?

All these and more count as we encourage each other to get up and move.

Have a great week! [hi]

I watched the National Cathedral Church Service this morning. Love their music.

Did a load of laundry.

Exercised my lips with a call to mom and then to my BFF.

Wrote out a few cards to mail.

Started a new novel last night about some elderly in a retirement center that solve mysteries. Lots of humor! Will read more of it tonight.

Off to figure out dinner. Salad, green beans and meatloaf probably.

Egads the BDay party took a lot out of me! I finally slept in today and feel sort of normal.

I was under the table Thursday night taping the too long mylar tablecloth to the underside of the table around 11:00 p.m. when my Mom came out and asked if I fell.

I said no Mom I'm fine go back to bed. Guys, she didn't notice a thing! I finished at 2:00 a.m. the was up by 8:00 to decorate outside.

Ran to McD's for BDay breakfast so missed my Mom seeing all the decorations.

She cried when I came home and was so very happy.

Her friend came a bit to early so pretended to just drop off a dish of bean sprouts.

Josh came next with the food whom she was expecting.

My brother and his family snuck in and then all jumped into the living room shouting surprise!

Good thing my Mom has a strong heart!

All the food was delicious! The party was a smashing success! Cake was perfect and my little Mom had the best birthday ever!

Worth every bit of the late night and extra work. Thank God for Josh who helped me by ordering the cake and food and picking up our dinner. I picked up the cake and ice cream, etc.

I am so very blessed!

Thank you Hiker for starting us off again this week.

Sounds wonderful, AK!! Wish we could have all been there!

hiker .. Your book sounds fun!

We had a great morning at church. We keep getting new local visitors, which is great!

Tried to eat out but the wait was going to be an HOUR. So tell me again why no one is working? How much money are these people collecting from the government?

We are going to deliver our shoeboxes today at noon. So I need to hop in the shower before too long. Had to get up since my back was killing me. Sure wanted to sleep longer.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

AK--Sounds like your mom's party was a total success. Kudos!

Tutu--What did you do to your back?

Did my knee exercises.

Ran to chiro to get some detox supplements. Stopped by library and then gassed up the car.

Worked on my Bible study.

Talked to mom and my brother.

Just took the garbage down to the curb and dumped my recycling in my neighbor's big bin.

Hi everyone! Mom and I went to the grocery store and bought a ham, eggs and red potatoes for Thanksgiving.

I'm making ham and potato salad. Josh is making mac and cheese. We're eating at my brother's this year and I'm glad I don't have to cook to much.

TuTu hope your back gets better! I hate dealing with pain. It can really wear you down.

Hiker I bet you're getting excited about seeing your brother soon.

Time to relax!

Baking day. Baked a few extra loaves for my cousin.

Had snow showers this weekend. Again today saw a few snowflakes. Not sure I'm ready quite yet.

This month is busy with visitors every weekend. So if I'm not writing you'll know why.

Sounds like your mom's party was a real success, AK!

I really don't know what is up with my back. I can only sleep 6-7 hours when it's bad. I have no idea what is causing it. Once I'm up, it's "OK."

Today my muscles are killing me. It didn't help that I moved shoeboxes.

I guess the weather is part of the problem. Tomorrow should be even more fun.

Manna .. have fun with your visitors!!

Manna--I am definitely not ready for the snow. Today was pretty warm but it goes downhill from here, I am sure. lol

I am not a fan of the time change as the sun now sits around 4:30 PM. Have had some vivid sunsets lately, though.

Did my back and balance exercises.

Filled the safflower feeder--again!

Worked on Bible study and listened to morning prayer at National Cathedral as usual.

Finished writing most of my Christmas cards but still need return address and stamps. Won't mail for several weeks. I cut my list way down this year, but know if someone sends me a card and I haven't sent them one I will feel guilty.

Sat in the recliner and before you know it I was napping.

Time to go plan dinner.

I ran some errands today and dead headed some flowers and watered them. It's still in the 70's down here.

Manna you sure are going to be busy with guests! Sounds like fun though!

Hiker you're way ahead of me with the Christmas cards!

TuTu I've been struggling with extra shoulder and back pain lately. I need to go to the gym and sit in the sauna to see if that'll help. Hope you feel better soon!

Night all!

AK--Mac and cheese sounds really good right now as does potato salad and ham. [Big Grin]

Manna--Enjoy your guests.

I went to the grocery store this morning for my weekly shopping.

Did my knee exercises.

Talked to mom and now I need to make reservations to have Thanksgiving dinner delivered for both of us to her apartment. Since she doesn't really know how to use the internet and there is a retirement center portal that must be used to make all dinner reservations, I take care of that.

Went to the chiropractor. Her manipulation really helped last week, so thought I would get another. Since I have met my insurance deductible it is just $10 so I feel like I can go more often until the New Year.

Rainy and windy here today. Getting chilly again.

Mom and I went to Joey's, our favorite local thrift mall. We walked around for a couple of hours and enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Back home we watched a Japanese movie. I made dinner of prepackaged turkey and cranberry ravioli and zucchini noodles with pesto.

Hiker I'm glad you're spending Thanksgiving with your Mom. Last year was tough spending holidays apart. Sure don't want to go through that again!

Off to look at landscaping ideas on Pinterest.

I attended Bible study this morning. As always, great discussion. Wish we could meet in person rather than zoom but with leader having leukemia we have elected not to do that.

Did my balance and back exercises.

Listened to national cathedral morning prayer.

Talked to my brother. Can’t wait to see him on Monday.

Tutu-If I remember correctly you like the author Mitch Albom? I just finished his new book, The Stranger in the Lifeboat. I didn’t think it was as good as some of his other books, but still a good read.

Didn't do much today because I didn't sleep well. So just lounged around and watched TV with Mom.

Hiker I bet you're excited to see your brother. Hope you all have a great time!

Wiped out and calling it a night!

Went to allergist. She didn’t think I had any symptoms of MCAS. Did not think my Eustachian tube issues were allergy related. But ENT doesn’t think they are sinus related. Sigh.

Suggested I change pillows, get hyperallergenic pillow covers and an air purifier for living room and bed room. She didn’t even think it was worth allergy testing me. I will go back in six weeks to see if the few changes I make help.

She wants ENT to scope further up nose and sinuses to see if surgery would benefit the congestion. I don’t see him until February but honestly am more concerned about the ear pressure and imbalance.

So, ordered some new pillows. Picked out air purifiers and pillow covers. Probably need a new hypoallergenic mattress cover, too.

Did my knee exercises.

Made gluten free blueberry muffins to take to mom on Sunday.

Talked to mom. She is so confused about when I am coming and leaving versus when my brother is coming and leaving. Aah!

Filled my bird feeders.

Going to be a couch potato tonight.

Hi, everyone! I'm still here!

I had a very busy day yesterday. Had a church council meeting in the morning, then a doctor's appointment at 1:30.

Then I went to exercise, since I missed it in the morning. I was totally wiped out when I got home. I also went to two different grocery stores.

I had to buy more boxes of stuffing and gravy mixes (and boxed potatoes) for our church's Thanksgiving baskets. Then later I went to another store for my own shopping.

Our church always adopts 6 families from a local school. This year we have 21 children in those 6 families. Wow!

At Christmas we will take baskets to the same six families and also bring a gift for each child.
They also get a gift certificate to buy meat at the grocery store.

We really enjoy buying them the Christmas gifts!

Today I stayed at home until about 3 and then ran errands and picked up some meds.

Hiker .. I can't remember a book by Mitch, but the name is familiar for sure. I lost my love of reading when I got sick with Lyme. I could barely read anything.

I do manage to read for my Bible studies and a few other books, but I'm way behind on the books I want to read.

AK .. your thrift store shopping always makes me want to go do that. I used to have a great place to just mill around in, but it was switched over to a Dollar General. Sigh.

See you tomorrow!!

Stay warm, hiker and manna!

Hi everyone! Well me and my Mom went on a shopping adventure today. We drove an hour north of us, not to far from Atlanta and went to a particular department store and shopped for about 2 hours. We ate lunch in the area and paid about $22.00 for 2 bowls of soup and we split a sandwich.

I thought it was pricey but delicious!

We ended up coming home and went to the same department store in our town and Mom finally bought some shoes.

So just getting ready for bed and a busy day tomorrow with my Mom and Josh. We're all going to the thrift mall this time so it should be fun.

Oh also I have my alarm set for 8:00 so I can go to the gym and sit in the sauna. At least that's the plan.

Hiker I've noticed my Mom is starting to show some cognitive decline and memory problems. It's very hard to deal with. Sending you a hug!

TuTu you've been busy in a good way! Josh wants to go to Angels Antiques in Alabama next week and that place is big! We'll spend about 3-4 hours browsing and wondering what some of the antiques are. Wish you could join us for the adventure! I call it treasure hunting LOL!

Stay warm my northern friends!

I want to go treasure hunting with you, AK!!

I did a load of laundry.

Also did my balance exercises and back exercises.

Talked a long time with my BFF.

My mom’s neighbor called to say mom’s phone is not working again. I am sure it is an ATT problem and not with the retirement center. Neighbor said mom was very upset. This has happened multiple times the past two years and it is frustrating.

Cooked salmon, green beans and potato for lunch. Having gluten free lasagna tonight.

Tutu—how kind of your church to help the families. Our church works with the alternative school and with local hospice as well as a few other organizations.

AK-please report on any discovered treasures.

Had a few free minutes to catch up on what you are all doing.

Daughter's friends are here. They spent the afternoon shopping and now are resting until the pizza & veggies & dip are ready to eat.

Brought the laundry in from the lines but didn't get it folded yet.

Working at the 2 dresses for my niece. Need to get them finished before she comes next week. One just needs the hem and the other is needs the front skirt put on.

Hubby has a cold and is so tired of coughing.

Cooked our thanksgiving turkey and took the meat off the bones yesterday. Put the bones back in the roaster and have bone broth cooking today. Yummy!

Ha! So much for good intentions! Couldn't sleep until 6:00 this morning and turned off my alarm at that point. Woke at 11:00 and rushed around to get me and Mom ready and fed before picking up Josh at 1:00.

I bought some older, made in the USA Pyrex containers and an older Tupperware measuring cup.

We only went through half of the thrift mall because my little Mom was tired.

Picked up Mexican fast food and ate at Josh's.

Tonight I got all my ingredients ready to make pumpkin cranberry muffins in the morning.

Josh is taking me and Mom out to dinner tomorrow (no Sunday cooking for me) to celebrate his remaining student loans being paid off. Bless his heart, he had to work his way through college and had very little help except a bit from my Mom and Dad.

TuTu I agree with you about being relieved that Hiker doesn't have MCAS!

Hiker I hope they get the phone working for your Mom! Scary not being able to stay in touch with folks.

Manna do you freeze the turkey meat now that it's off the bones? I try to cook things in advance too so things aren't so hectic. This year I'm just making a ham and potato salad to take to my brother's for Thanksgiving.

I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving this year!

See you all tomorrow!

Yes, AK, the turkey meat is in the freezer now that its off the bones. I also can do the mashed potatoes ahead and freeze them. Just got a stuffing recipe that can be mixed up ahead of time & frozen.

I like to try to make as much food ahead of time to have more time to spend with guests instead of cooking.
