I am still in the Christmas festive spirit but I ate way too much yesterday.

So, time to get exercising again this week. Join us as we encourage each other to get up and move.

Walking? Snow shoveling? Going to the gym? Cleaning? Baking? We count it all. Or just tell us about your day.

Here’s to ending 2021 with momentum going into the New Year! [woohoo]

Drove back from mom’s in the fog this morning. I know she was sad to see me go, but I am ready to sleep in my own bed. Her extra bed is from my childhood and is over 50 years old so not comfortable.

I unpacked and did a load of laundry.

Took recycling to the bins in the grocery store parking lot along with the rest of the town’s population. Lol

Watched the National Cathedral Church service on YouTube.

Talked to my brother and did a lot of scanning of financial documents from mom to send to him via email.

Had a short nap.

A, now watching some football. Fixing a salad and small gluten free pizza for dinner tonight.

Have a good evening!

Hiker thanks for getting us going. I'm a little under the weather and am sure it's my mast cells acting up.

I've stayed in bed reading all day and napping.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.

Had leftovers from Christmas dinner for lunch today.

Took a nap this afternoon.

Went for a walk down the road later afternoon. The dog and a cat went with me.

The boys went for a ride up the mountain, then went back on the road a few times. The dog went with them on the road, but not up the mountain. Funny dog!

On my way back the cat wanted to be carried part of the way.

Texted with my sister awhile this afternoon.

Gabbed with my sis-in-law this evening.

We had a nice dinner upstairs on Christmas Day. There were 9 of us and we enjoyed the chats and the food.

She seated the women at one table and the men at the other. Clever! HA!

My husband and I were the last to leave. He is NOT a social person, but will talk indefinitely if he is enjoying the conversation. LOL.

So it was a great success.

I got sick after we got home and was sick all night .. (I hear ya, AK!! .. danged mast cells!) My biggest mistake was forgetting to take my cromolyn before lunch!!

Sometimes I can get away with it, but not when eating foods I normally don't eat. I think one thing that got me was anise in some cookies. Oh, the misery.

Thankfully, I was OK Sunday morning. Whew.

We ate at home on Sunday and took naps, then I went to a few stores to pick up a few things. NO shoppers and NO traffic to speak of.

It was about 3:30

AK and Tutu—sorry to hear you felt crummy. Hope all is well now.

Did my knee and back exercises.

Zipped to the bank.

Worked on Bible study.

Called mom. Then called my old P.E. teacher to chat. I really need to go visit her. She is in a retirement center just a few miles from mom.

Got a notice that 4 employees at mom’s retirement center and nursing home have Covid. And so the post Xmas spread begins. [Frown]

Just took the garbage can down to the curb. Even though it is still getting dark early there is more light in the day now than a few days ago. So, I guess we can say we are moving towards spring!

Baking a chicken breast for dinner. Cooked some cranberries to go with it and will have steamed zucchini and a tossed salad.

Mom and I went out and about for a bit of shopping. We're both working on a couple projects. Mom is going to spray paint an old frame and I'm adding some wood to lengthen the top shelf of her sofa table to put her new Japanese doll that was one of her Christmas gifts.

I made stew from some of the leftover prime rib, baked potato, corn, broccoli, celery and carrots. Added in some onion and two packets of beef gravy mix and a bit of instant mashed potato. It was delicious! Mom says I'm a good leftover cook. I hate to waste food!

I'm mostly recovered from the hub bub of the holidays and we've eaten almost all the leftovers. I'm afraid to get on the scale so I'm putting it off.... [Roll Eyes]

So glad to hear everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

My poor husband has been at the tire place all day, minus when I took him to lunch.

He left at 9:30 to get new shocks. Found out he needed new brakes and struts. (It's old .. 150,000mi)

So he was told it would be ready about 1 or so. I took him back around that time.

He still is not home. They received the wrong part but didn't tell him that until about 4 pm. It's now 5:15.

We DID get $100 discount and an oil change voucher out of it, but would someone please let him out of there!?!

Did my balance exercises today.

Watched the snow fall, but it didn't amount to much and turned to rain.

Went to allergist NP. She wants me back at the ENT sooner than later as ear tube is falling out. In her words, "It looks wonky."

So, I was able to get an appointment Jan. 18 with ENT. Allergist is sure my eustachian tube problems are not allergy related. Mentioned ENT needs to scope not only eustachian tubes but sinuses and sent a note to him about that. I really like this nurse practitioner at the allergist.

Called my BFF and chatted for a long time.

Off to fix dinner--a repeat of last night. AK--You and I are on the same page about leftovers.

Our neighbors brought us some fresh produce yesterday, so we are eating good right now!

We had Unstuffed pepper soup (used some of the peppers) and cucumber salad (another one) and for dessert had a mix of strawberries, blueberries, and grapes (more of it) with lightly sweetened whipped cream stirred into the fruit.

Rainy day. Did the laundry - still need to finish folding it.

Hubby is fixing, cleaning and oiling a friend's sewing machine after it was dropped on the floor.

Finished reading Notes from a Doctor's Pocket by Dr Robert Lesslie I want to get some more of his books, very interesting.

Me and Mom ate stew on rice twice today! Taking leftovers to Josh tomorrow. We're going to the movies and then grabbing Mexican fast food afterwards.

I took Mom's car to the shop this morning and had fluids checked and the tires checked again. They topped off fluids and said the tires were fine.

Mom and I finished our projects and then relaxed binge watching our latest Chinese historical drama.

Now I'm reading Voltaire's A Treatise on Tolerance and Other Writings. Makes my second book on philosophy since the 26th.

TuTu your poor hubby! Hope his car is in tip top shape now.

Hiker hope they can fix the ear tube! Is that the reason you've been off balance?

Manna that soup sounds delicious! Me and Mom are soup people. Of course ours is usually canned and we eat half a sandwich to go along with it. Fresh produce sounds divine! Your book looks interesting.

Off to read!

Tutu--Hope your hubby got the car fixed and came home. Crazy.

AK--Last night I binged watched the fall season series of 911 that I recorded. My eyeballs were ready to pop out of my head!

Manna--I looked up the author, Robert Lesslie, and ordered several of his books (used) from Amazon. Figure they would be good to have around when I don't have a library book or when I travel.

Went grocery shopping today and also bought a few snacks for New Year's Eve. However, the store was out of potato chips. Can you believe that?

I did my knee and back exercises.

Went to library. Am all ready to be snowed in. [Big Grin]

Called ENT and got on cancellation list and nurse messaged me that I can come a week earlier than planned. Hurrah!

I was thinking about the allergist's office. Very smart. You check in and they tell you the number of the exam room and you go straight there. No waiting in the waiting room at all. Wish every doctor was that way.

Called my mom. Then called mom’s best friend just to wish her a Happy New Year. She and her whole family have covid. All are vaccinated and the cases aren't horrible but she and her husband are elderly and spent several days in bed. Covid is really on the rampage here.

Filled the bird feeders. Supposed to get some mixture of snow and ice tonight and then snow on Saturday. I want my birds to be happy in the winter weather!

Off to do the crossword puzzle in today's paper. Then fixing a cheese burger, broccoli and salad for dinner.

Ran some errands before meeting Josh at 3:00. We went to a 4:00 movie and got the matinee price on our tickets. We saw the new Matrix movie which turned out better than I thought. Noshed on our Mexican fast food afterwards at his house.

Hiker I'm envious of your cold weather! Please send some this way. It's going to be 77° tomorrow and my flowers are still thriving. I'm still reading my Voltaire book which is really interesting.

I still have books I bought from the last sale that the library had. Hope to read something a bit lighter after I'm done with my current book.

Off to read!

Hiker . . hubby got home at 6pm. They close at 5!

The parts store sent the wrong part TWICE, but this place didn't tell my husband that until 4pm.

He worked in a parts store during high school and college and told them that was pretty ridiculous!!

Slept in a bit today. I always grab the newspaper off the front porch around 4:30 AM and then go back to bed.

Did my knee and back exercises again today.

Worked on Bible study.

Read awhile this afternoon and then took a short nap.

Have had a sinus headache today. Winter weather here is weird this year. Yesterday it was in the 30's. Today it is in the 40's but foggy all day. Tomorrow is mid50's and then by Sunday we are having a low of zero and a high of about 10. My sinuses do not agree with the weather changes.

Leftovers for dinner.

Ran to make a payment for Mom this morning. We binge watched the rest of our Chinese historical drama all day long! We're both worn out but it was worth it. My little Mom enjoys them so much!

Still not 100% from all the eating so ate sparingly today. Applesauce, cucumbers and steamed edamame.

TuTu that's ridiculous that your hubby was there that long!

Hiker we had hail today in some parts of town but it was in the 70's! Right now it's 77° in the house and I have my ceiling fan on. Wearing shorts tomorrow....sheesh!

Back to my book!

Sorry to hear about the headache, Hiker.

I have one too from buying a mattress cover that has that "cooling" effect. It is too toxic for me. I knew it probably would be.

I've only opened the box and that was enough. It's very heavy and would be extremely difficult to air out or off gas.

So, it goes back tomorrow. Sigh. I was hoping it would help my back AND keep me cool at night.

AK .. Hope you didn't get any hail damage.

It's supposed to be in the teens on Saturday night and may snow.

We are leaving Monday for Texas. I hope the precipitation is gone by then.

Nite nite!

Feeling much better today.

Did my balance exercises.

Washed my flannel sheets and put them back on the bed.

Filled my suet feeder. Need to go buy more.

Waxed my snow shovel. Going to get 5 inches or so tomorrow after some icing.

Called mom. Now up to 13 cases of covid in her retirement center. Only one is a resident.

Cleaned up the house a bit as my BFF is coming over tonight to celebrate New Year's Eve. I doubt we will make it to midnight, though.

I am contributing champagne, shrimp. cheese and crackers, walnuts, and medjool dates. I know she is bringing treats but don't know what.

Off to have a salad to tie me over until she comes and so I can say I had something healthy to eat this evening. [Big Grin]

Tutu--Did you see the news where fish were raining from the sky in Texas? Guess they got caught up in a water spout. Crazy.

Finished sewing my Block of the Month Quilt top together. Its not perfect, but I like it. I think I learned a lot about cutting and sewing patches together. Mostly all I had done before was sewing square patches together.

We had a cloudy day with a few splashes of sunshine today. It is raining this evening and hubby says heavy rain is predicted overnight.

We plan to stay up to see the New Year in. Have plenty of snacky stuff left from Christmas.

Did the washing today. Still have some to fold.

Have some guineas advertised for sale. Too many males in our flock will create friction come spring.

Happy New Year! [Big Grin]

I also took down the Christmas decorations while I watched the Rose parade. Will probably turn the Rose Bowl on soon and put it on mute.

Did my balance exercises.

Did a load of laundry.

My BFF left some wonderful goat cheese for me as well as a bit of chocolate. I have some shrimp and other snacks left along with a tiny bottle of champagne, so I will have repeat of last night minus my friend.

It is sleeting and snowing now. Potentially up to 5 inches before it stops. Going into the deep freeze temperature wise as well.

May 2022 hold many blessings for all of you! [group hug]

Yes, hiker! I saw that about the it raining fish!! I told my friends that I was still waiting for the cats and dogs!! lol

If you had the parade on mute, then you missed the band directors band. They were so good!! 270 strong!!

I loved the wildlife one too. (The Wild Kingdom)

Ak .. that's so cool that your family is coming!!

I can't wait to see my brother and sister in law. I just dread the traveling. It gets harder every year.

Flying isn't any easier.

I sure hope we can see a few friends down there that we have been missing out on the past few years. It's time!!

We are getting ready to leave on Monday, so I've done a lot of things today to get ready. I even cleaned several rooms.

It's cold out there .. might be snowing. We may actually make it to church unless it starts snowing a lot.

Manna .. stay warm!!

Its been raining the past few days. We have flood warnings until Sunday afternoon. We don't need to worry about flooding personally. Our house is up on the hill.

Sorted out all my seed packets and took note of what we need to order yet. Sonny wants to grow some hot peppers again this year. He's thinking of trying a ghost pepper. I need to order beans and carrots and sweet peppers.

We stayed up to see the New Year in. Had some tired people today, but since it was raining we were rather lazy and didn't do much.

Looks like the cold will reach us tomorrow evening. 32* by 10 PM.

Me and Mom watched part of the Rose Parade too. Then she put me to work spray painting a couple frames and hanging family pictures in the hallway.

New Year's day dinner was a smashing success but we didn't eat until 7:30 and my brother and his family stayed a couple of hours. Josh stayed until midnight so we could finish watching Karate Kid III.

Hiker leftover hors d'oeuvres are the best! We had a sparkling wine, cranberry juice and ginger ale drink after my brother and his family left. It was delicious!

TuTu hope you guys have a safe trip! We're leaving Wednesday to drive to ATL for an MRI and lab work appointment for my Mom. We'll get the results the following week to find out how effective the radiation treatment was.

Manna me and Mom were chit chatting about what to plant in our little raised garden bed. We're thinking lettuces, cucumbers and maybe tomatoes.

Off to read the tail end of my book!
