Hi there chilly exercise buddies! Welcome to the exercise thread this cold Sunday morning!

If you're out shoveling snow, sledding, skiing, doing dishes, baking, washing clothes, weight training or PT please post it here!

We like to encourage one another to be as active as we can. Just about anything goes here!

Happy Birthday, Lymetoo!

Watched my church’s service this morning.

Did a load of laundry.

Vacuumed upstairs.

Talked to my mom.

Went to recycling bins near my house.

Stopped at library for some books and also got the old classic movie, “Lilies of the Field.” Am watching it now.

Thank you, hiker!

We made it home. Now I'm busy washing clothes. This will take awhile.

I hate fragrances.

Hope your birthday was awesome TuTu!

Hiker I haven't seen that movie for years! Might be a good one to watch with my Mom.

Made spaghetti for dinner along with a salad and garlic bread. Had toasted Panettone with cream cheese for dessert. Josh and my Mom's BFF came for dinner and we had a great time.

Also did two loads of laundry and ran a couple of errands.

Wow it's late and didn't realize it! Josh didn't leave until after midnight. Hope I can get some sleep. Night all!

Cleaned the kitchen and bathroom including mopping the floors.

Did my knee exercises.

Watched the Illini-Purdue basketball game. It was a good one going into double overtime. Illini lost.

Talked with my BFF for quite a while.

Cooked a chicken breast to turn into chicken salad tonight.

Need to haul the garbage to the curb and call my mom.

Washed the last of the scented clothes today. Had to wash some of them twice.

[Mad] [Mad] [Mad] [Mad]

Also made a trip to two grocery stores.

Made a dessert for us.

I need to share it here so you guys can get fat too. LOL.

Baking day.

Snowed yesterday and overnight and today. We have 5 1/2 inches or maybe a little more.

Took a dish of peelings & such out for the chickens. They were happy for the treats. Also had some bread for the guineas. Total quietness as they were busily eating the bread. Guineas are very vocal birds.

Peeked in at the baby kids and mama goat. She asked for and got a few slices of bread too! Gave her a bit more hay too. The rest of the goats got their share of bread as well as the dog!

Hubby hooked up a heater in the bathroom today. Should be warmer in there now.

Manna--I bet the baby kids are cute. Will you keep them?

Washed my flannel sheets and put them back on the bed.

Odd weather here. In the mid40's now, but going down to zero tomorrow night. All the weather changes give me a headache and bother my ears. But at least the snow all melted today and so it won't refreeze tomorrow.

Did my balance exercises.

Worked a bit on Bible study.

A good friend called and we jabbered for 2 hours. [Big Grin]

Went to chiropractor this afternoon and will just relax tonight.

We keep the girls and sell the boys. Daughter would like to have at least 6 milking goats. She'd like to make goats milk soap.

Did some sewing today.

Washed several loads of clothes.

Emailed back & forth with a friend.

Gabbed on the phone with my sis-in-law a little bit.

My turn to cook supper. Potatoes, ham and string beans. And for dessert Sonny's batch of whoopie pies that flopped. Turned out a bit rubbery. Must have mixed them too long. There is only one left!

Up early and ran errands. Had to deal with tax assessors office for Mom (always fun) in regards to her VA tax exemption status.

Bought another set of sheets for my bed, stopped at the grocery store for a few things and home in time to heat up leftover spaghetti for me and Mom to have for lunch. Also had salad and garlic bread.

Josh stopped by for dinner so we had burgers, chips and dip.

TuTu I'm gaining weight all on my own! LOL! I know exactly what you mean about washing odors out of clothes. I have to put my clothes outside before I wash them if I've been around cigarette smoke. I can't keep them indoors at all.

Manna your dinner sounds so good! Your life sounds like a wonderful adventure with all the animals around. I love goats milk soap! I received a bar with a natural sponge that was actually in the bar as a gift. It was awesome!

Hiker our weather is kinda doing the up and down thing too! At least it feels like winter now. I need to clean the kitchen and bathroom too and hope to get to it tomorrow.

See you guys tomorrow!

Daughter & I & the dog went for a walk this afternoon. Walked a mile. There was slushy snow on the road some places, other places it was bare.

Finished sewing my little scrappy quilt top together this afternoon. Now I can start another project.

Washed a load of towels and folded them.

Fed the Guinea's some bread. Today some of them ventured out of the barn in spite of the snow. Mama goat wanted her share again and the dog.

Manna--I look forward to hearing about your next project!

I went grocery shopping. Very windy and chilly and the temperature has dropped about 10 degrees since this morning. Going to have windchills way below zero tonight.

Despite the cold weather, the sunsets have been amazing here. I imagine the sunrises are, too, but I don’t get up that early. [Big Grin]

Picked up my prescription and then dropped off library books.

Did my knee exercises.

Worked a teeny bit on my income taxes inputting deductions. I don't even have my 1099 R form, yet for my pension, so I can't do much.

Talked to mom for quite a while and then got on her medical portal to fill out questions for her podiatry appointment tomorrow. I can't take her because I have other appointments tomorrow, but she should be fine on her own for this one. I do wish she had consulted me before making the appointment, though.

Trimmed my bangs. They always seem to grow faster than the sides and back.

Off to rustle up some grub for dinner and then read a bit.

Up early and made coffee, put away dishes while waiting for Mom to wake up. She came out of her room after 11:00 so made a lunch of grilled cheese tomato sandwiches and canned minestrone soup.

Ran a couple of errands today and then home to watch a couple movies with Mom.

Mom made rice and I sautéed a winter melon in butter and miso and that's what we had for dinner.

You guys are doing great on the exercising! Oh, I forgot to mention that I got a haircut yesterday. I like it much better than my last one which was so short you could see my scalp in places! Eek!

Stay warm friends!

Just came in from the barn. The second goat had her kid tonight. A big boy! She needed help, so Daughter had to pull him while mama goat pushed. He's a cute one.

I started sewing some little girls dresses that I cut down from ladies dresses. I think I got one sleeve sewed in when Daughter came asking for help with the goat. I'm just thankful it all ended well.

Thank goodness all went well with the mama and baby goat!

So far today I've just been sitting here in the livingroom with Mom. Made a light brunch of pear/yogurt salad and half a blueberry bagel with cream cheese and butter.

Wanted to take Mom out and about today but it's supposed to rain and she's still in her jammies.

Sometimes it's hard to get her motivated to go out.

Hope you guys are having a more productive day than I am. LOL!

Later friends!

Baking day. Baked less than usual as its still snowy and supposed be more snow showers tomorrow morning before we get some sunshine in the afternoon.

Took notice its still light at 5! We are moving toward spring!

Took bread and slop out for the chickens and guineas. All the guineas were in their pen except 2. I got them in and fed them, but before I could get their little outside pen door shut, 2 more went out. Hopefully they decide to go in all by themselves. Its supposed to get cold tonight. 10* and 2* tomorrow night! Brr!!

Chilly here today but will warm up to 20 tomorrow!

Had Bible study with my group this morning. Great study, but we are all sad that another member has cancer--brain, spine, lungs, liver. Not good. [Frown]

My mom has cellulitis in her foot again. Am waiting to hear x-ray results to see if infection has penetrated to the bone.

She made also need new shoes and finding shoes for her small feet at age 94 is not going to be easy. I asked the podiatry nurse where to buy her shoes since I don't live in her town and she didn't know. I would think a podiatry office would be able to offer suggestions. [cussing]

Did my balance exercises.

Went to get the platelet injection for my shoulder and after drawing blood from 3 veins we finally got enough. The representative for the company that sells the platelet injection kits brought his centrifuge and made sure everything went right.

So, my shoulder will be sore for a day or two and then hopefully it will begin to feel much better. I really like this orthopedic doctor.

Manna--You are so right that it is staying light longer. I like that!

It's very cold here too. It was 5 degrees last night, but we are warm and toasty.

My husband's birthday was yesterday and he wanted something from Bob Evans. It's been a little icy here, so we ordered from Uber Eats.

They totally saved us when we were in OK last Saturday. We had not eaten real food all day Friday and then had to stop due to the snow in OK on Saturday.

We ordered Church's chicken and it was the best meal I've had in a long time .. or we were JUST STARVING!!!!

Anyway, we don't have Church's here. Sigh.

The food from Bob Evans was not very good. We do like eating there, but this was not great. The rolls we bought were cold and hard.

(I warmed them in the microwave and they were still inedible.) [Eek!]

Got the money back on that, could have complained about the whole meal, but we didn't. I DID call Bob Evans later and they are sending gift cards.

So today we have done just about nothing. HA! I'm fixing chicken wings tonight. It MAY get above freezing today, but I doubt it. Tomorrow we unthaw.

(We got the snow on Wed.)

I did manage to go to exercise on Tuesday. I did very well, considering the fact that I had missed two weeks of it.

I just agreed to teach crocheting at the local library in February. That should be interesting.

We should be able to go back to church on Sunday. This past Sunday we were still traveling and they had to cancel services due to the heavy snow.

Stay safe, everyone! Be sure to stock up on food and supplies. Seems that the shelves are fairly empty in many places. We are in pretty good shape here.

hiker .. I'm sorry to hear about another friend with cancer. It is rather rampant right now. I have two close friends who have it.

Tutu, you have been busy. We are getting some snow tomorrow night. Enough that I will need to shovel so it doesn’t get icy when I drive the car up and down the drive but probably not enough for Bret to come do the drive for me.

I made turkey chili this morning and froze most of it.

Did my knee exercises. My shoulder hurts too much to do my back exercises which are really shoulder exercises. Hoping the platelet injection kicks in sooner than later.

Worked on Bible study.

Got X-ray results for mom’s foot. Her little toe has a dislocated joint. Of course the podiatrist was not in the office today and the nurse wasn’t very helpful. Will call Monday to see what the options are.

I know sometimes they can put the joint in place with local anesthetic but I am willing to bet this would be difficult. I don’t want my mom under general anesthesia with an operation on her foot. Then she would need to go to rehab at the Covid filled nursing home. And general anesthesia for a frail 94 year old would be risky. Rats! [Mad]

Having a tossed salad and gluten free pizza tonight. Watching Illini basketball.

Just vegging out with Mom today. It was rainy and cold today but not low enough to freeze.

Talked with a friend of mine who is an anti-vaxxer and she has a second round of Covid. She also infected her ex, daughter and grandson this time around. She works with children under 3 who don't have to be masked and several were sick with Covid. Needless to say she put in her 2 week notice. She said she's had enough.

Hiker your poor Mom! You'd think the podiatrist's office could order some shoes for her. Wish I could have had dinner with you! I had leftover winter melon and rice...sigh...

Tutu happy BDay to your hubby! We have Church's chicken down here and they are good! I don't fry chicken and when I have a hankering they're my go to place. Have fun at the library!

Manna brrr, it's cold where you are! I'm not ready for spring yet. I know I need to do alot of work outside and am worried about not being in good enough shape. I'll try and do the best I can.

Off to watch some TV.

Hiker, could a chiropractor help your mom's toe? I'm amazed at what they can do, sometimes.

It was 10* this morning when I got up and the warmerst I saw it today was 20*! Currently it is 11*. Brr!

Hubby put sent the boys to put a heat lamp in the well house to keep it from freezing. We put a heater under the house at the sink to keep those pipes from freezing and set a straw bale in front of the crawl space opening. The cats were shoving the foam out of the way and going under there. Letting cold air in.

Today I did laundry and got most of it folded. Still 2 baskets waiting.

Our seed catalog came yesterday! Now to decide which seeds to buy! Oh the fun of dreaming of all the things we'll grow and how lovely and weed free the garden will be this year!! :-) LOL I can dream, right?

Gabbed with a friend who called this afternoon.

Manna-The chiropractor can’t help with mom’s toe. It is such a painful procedure to put a joint back in place and she needs at least a local anesthetic. My excellent chiropractor doesn’t do that kind of thing. Just praying she doesn’t need surgery.

I still have weeds from this fall in my gardens. Sheesh.

Did a load of laundry this morning.

Did my balance exercises.

Listened to the Bible study video for this week's lesson.

Baked salmon, asparagus, and sweet potato for lunch. Am defrosting spaghetti sauce to have with rice pasts, green beans and tossed salad tonight.

Talked to my brother for a long time.

Took a short nap.

May watch a recorded show and some NFL football tonight. Will mute the game and read at the same time.

Am hoping the predicted snow passes us by. So far we have only had small snowfalls but I expect that will change in February like usual.

Finished folding wash and put it away.

Took bread out to the birds and goats and dog!

Gathered the eggs that had been laid so they don't freeze until this evening.

Chose the fabrics to make a pocket hanger to put on the door for our mittens, gloves, and hats. Want to make a second one for the crocs and sneakers to keep them out of the way until spring.

Baked 3 Lemon Meringue Pies. They turned out really nice. The boys can hardly wait for them to cool to start eating them!

Its the boy's night to do dishes, so I think I'll go sew.

I was up early so did 2 loads of laundry and went to the local grocery store for a few things.

After Mom woke up I cooked brunch and we went to do some more grocery shopping at the commissary.

Josh called me while we were shopping to tell me he's sick. He's not sure if it's Covid but his principal told him to quarantine for 5 days. So he's not going to make it for my birthday on Tuesday and told me not to wait until he's better. So it'll just be me and Mom going out to dinner.

We picked up soup, OJ, Dayquil/Nitequil, Cheezits and Gatorade for him.

After unloading everything at home I went and picked him up some Mexican fast food and dropped everything off in his carport.

If he has Covid it'll be the second round for him.

Did someone mention homemade pie! I'm snowshoeing right up there with my fork in hand. LOL!

It's getting in the 20's down here tonight so that's cold for us. I was wearing a hat, scarf and gloves today.

You all stay warm!
