Welcome to the Exercise Thread!

We like to post our activities here to encourage one another to be as active as we can.

If you're baking, gardening, walking, doing chores, kayaking, swimming, etc. post it here. We'd love to hear about it!

Here we go with another exciting week!

[woohoo]

My daughter and granddaughter are visiting me.

Have tendonitis problems in sides of both both legs.
figured out that aspercream lidocaine works to numb it enough
to be able to walk normally. The roll-on version is great!

Walked around a local farmer's market with lots of extra exhibits,
including two adorable alpacas.

Walked around nature center trail.

Having fun!

Walked and stood a lot this morning - doing morning chores and watering outside and inside plants. Will try to take it easy.

Hi Ann-O bet those alpacas were cute!

Still not feeling great but up early and trimmed bushes, washed my bedding and put hoses out.

Then went and bought more Covid tests. Running a fever and still stuffy.

Later gang!

Ann—sounds like a good day.

AK—Can’t believe you still have a fever. Sheesh.

Watched the National Cathedral Church Service.

Did a load of laundry and cleaned the bathroom.

Went to drop off recycling at the bins at the grocery store and put a few library books in the book drop there, too. So convenient.

Rode the exercise bike 6 minutes, did my knee exercises and feet exercises.

Talked to my mom. Then talked to my BFF and then my cousin. Lots of lip and vocal cord exercise. Lol

Time to relax. I used to take Sunday as a day of rest and maybe I need to start doing that again. [Smile]

Had a family backyard BBQ.
Had LOTS of meats, hamburgers, hotdogs, ribs and polish sausage. Beautiful low-humidity day! Kids were in pool, adults all had a relaxing day!

I had wide-spread pain everywhere. I was really struggling but made it through.

After everyone left, I HAD to get into hot shower for 30 minutes to feel better. Then I rolled on my big exercise ball to ease my back. My 2 injuries from yesterday were sore.

Tried to take a nap but just laid there getting mad so got up.

Ann-I would LOVE to see an alpaca.

ak-so sorry you’re still dealing with the covid, ugh.

hiker-so glad you’re putting your new bike to use.

Hope there’s something good on tv. I need to take my mind far away..

Took a nap this afternoon.

Our son called and gabbed with us for awhile.

Had leftovers for supper.

Gabbed with my SIL for an hour.

Just remembered that the keets need to be fed and its getting dark. They'll be going to bed!

Silverwolf, glad to see you on the exercise thread.

And you are right. One chore at a time. Hope Trek is back with you soon.

I spent the morning dealing with my mom's health insurance and her big podiatry bill from March. Was told it was denied because when they removed the keratoma and drained the pus it was not preapproved. So, reached out to the clinic to see what we can do. Paid the rest of her medical bills so the bill collector doesn't come after her.

Then dealt with my own medical bills.

Watered the flowers outside. Actually did that while talking to the insurance company as that call was 90 minutes.

Rode the exercise bike for 6 minutes. Did my balance exercises, feet exercises, and shoulder stretches.

Called mom.

Cleaned out a few files and redid a lot of passwords for various sites I go to. Then had to make note of all the new passwords. [bonk]

I tried to get registered at my mom's medicare plan to see EOB's online, but I guess my dad already registered years ago, so had to call them back and get them to change the email since he has passed away. Will be a few days before I can try to register again.

Went to the chiropractor. Had her take a look at my bruised ankle after the manipulation. She thinks a deep bone bruise but since it isn't swollen she doesn't think I broke the fibula.

Cooked a chicken breast and will have it with asparagus and tossed salad for dinner. And enough will be leftover for tomorrow night!

Time to haul the garbage can and landscape waste to the curb.

Hi, everyone .. esp Silver! I hope Trek can come home soon!

I made a quick trip to the store today for a few items. Otherwise, have not done very much physical stuff the past two days.

I watered all the plants, including the ones the subdivision planted. I hope to keep them alive.

I managed to finish one part of my Bible study late this afternoon. I still have another book to read for that, and then the book for our church's Bible study.

The one for the Bible study here is We Will Not Be Silenced by Erwin Lutzer. It's very good, but a tad depressing!!!! I'm hoping for better news at the end of the book.

Baking day, so its a busy day. Keeps me stepping to keep after everything. And then when the 2nd to last batches were in the oven, the electricity went off! So Sonny hooked up the generator and I got my bread all baked. The electric came back on just before the last pans came out of the oven.

Also did laundry, it all went in the dryer today. Got it all folded and put away, or in the wash basket for the boys to put away.

Picked the pickles, the tomatoes - wasn't so many because somebody had the fence open into the garden and the guineas got there first! Picked the pole beans again too. There is almost enough for a meal.

Welcome S wolfie! Hope everything will work out when Trek comes home.

Manna you stay busy as a bee!

Hiker I have almost 3 steno pad sheets of passwords! Hope your ankle gets better soon.

TuTu hope your watering will do the trick!

Went to a new walk in clinic and the whole staff was awesome! Tested negative for Covid, flu and strep. PA said my throat was red and she was surprised how swollen my face was. Diagnosis a bacterial sinus infection so happily accepted a shot of Rocephin (brought back memories) and Dexamethasone.

Also 10 days of 875 mg of Amoxi and 5 days of 40 mg of Prednisone.

Seeing light at the end of the health tunnel!

Picked up breakfast for me and Mom, went to PO, took garbage cans to the curb and watered plants.

Ready to read myself to sleep!

Night all!

AK--Hope the new meds help your sinus infection.

Manna--I giggle every time I read that you "picked the pickles." I had a friend's young daughter want to know if she was planting pickles this summer not understanding they came from cucumbers.

I rode the exercise bike 7 minutes, did my knee exercises, and my feet exercises.

Listened to National Cathedral Morning prayer service as I usually do.

Went to an upholstery shop as I want to reupholster my 34 year old couch. Found a material I liked right away. The shop owner said he probably wouldn't get to it until December, but he will get me an estimate and assuming I can afford it he will come get it from the house when they are ready for it. No other place in town does pickup and delivery.

This place mainly does the interiors of cars, but also furniture. He said since Covid hit they have been even busier than usual--guess everyone is working from home and wants their furniture redone.

Took a short nap this afternoon and have been pretty lazy--reading.

Leftover chicken for dinner.

Challenging night, up and down. Crying.

Got into pool but could only muster 10 laps and got out.
Laid on lounge chair but got overheated so headed to bedroom.

Took 1 hour nap.
My animals know I’m not feeling well so they surrounded me.

Made turkey thighs and broccoli.
Ate in bed.

Called and cancelled my kayak trip tomorrow.
Totally bummed.
My friend understands but it’s so hard letting others down including myself.

Tomorrow will be better.

I'm so sorry, Bonnie!!

AK .. Glad you are on the right meds now! Get well!

hiker .. I'd love to get our sofa recovered one day ... or maybe I'll just buy a new one. I'm sure a new one is the cheaper route. Right now I know I wouldn't tolerate the new fabric.

Manna .. Pickle plants, huh? WE used to HATE when my mom made pickles. She had a recipe for 12 day sweet pickles that would send you packing.

We would come home from school and our eyes would burn like crazy while she boiled the spices for them. The pickles came out sweet and crunchy, the way she liked them. I never have cared for pickles of any sort.

I went to exercise today and then to see my friend Sharon. She fixed eggs for us for lunch. They were very good since they had just been picked up the day prior. Yummy.

I stopped at the farmer's market in town and came home with kettle corn. HA!

I'm all ready for my Bible studies tomorrow. I got it all done last night.

Have a great evening, everyone!

Made a mistake on my meds. Have to take that 875 mg of Amoxi 2 times a day! I need some Diflucan!

No fever or red rashy face anymore. Not much head pain but my face is still swollen.

The prednisone I'm on has made me hyper so probably overdid it.

Made gluten free pancakes, bacon and sautéed green apple slices for brunch. Also made dinner of shredded Diakon radish with tofu and Mom made rice.

Worked on the new 8 foot shade brackets that Josh is helping me put up on the front porch this Sunday. I'm doing all the prep work and will mark were he needs to drill. Hoping it's an easy quick job.

Hiker way to go on the 7 minutes! I can see the upholstery place being busy. I know quite a few folks working from home still.

BB hope you get to feeling better! Your pets sound so sweet!

TuTu I used to love pickles on burgers, sandwiches, etc. but can't eat them anymore because of the vinegar. Get horrible anaphylaxis!

Well, guess I'll watch a bit of TV. Binge watching Grace and Frankie on Netflix.

Night all!

[hi]

Ak--What about some probiotics taken 4 hours away from the amoxicillen?

BB--Hope you feel better soon.

Watered the flowers outside. Gorgeous day here.

Did my balance exercises and feet exercises. Also rode the exercise bike for 8 minutes.

Drove over to my mom's and spent the afternoon with her. She had dinner plans with a friend, so I drove back home. Took her the new remote I found online for her 50 year old TV. TV works fine but the remote was shot. New one works great.

Off to deal with Amazon issues and then dinner.

Hiker glad you got to see your Mom and congrats on 8 minutes!

Worked on helping my brother put on a toprail on the chain link fence this morning.

Took Mom to get her hearing aids cleaned and then we went out to lunch at a good Mexican place.

Dropped her off at home then went to get a much needed haircut and then bought groceries.

I'm exhausted. Working tomorrow for the first time since having Covid.

I'm already in bed vegging at 8:00!

See everyone tomorrow!

Get ready for another giggle, Hiker! I picked the pickles again this afternoon! Hoping I soon have enough for a batch of Seven Day pickles.

Picked the tomatoes again too, but weren't very many because the guineas ate most of the ripe ones. I'm thinking the dog is opening up the fence to go look for mice in the zinnias, and then the guineas just walk right in.

Had a doggie roast planned last evening - it rained so we had to go with plan B. Put the hot dogs on cookie sheets and baked them in the oven. After supper it wasn't raining anymore so the boys took the 4 wheelers up on the mountain trails.

Dug out and laid the brick for one of the two steps to the greenhouse.

Picked the pole beans.

Washed a couple loads of laundry and hung it out to dry.

Dug up some carrots and red beets.

I guess this was a harvest day!

We had sunshine again!

Manna.. drive your family crazy .. GO FOR THE 12 DAY PICKLES!! [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Good job on the bike, hiker!

AK .. Yeah, I suspect it's the vinegar that I never liked. I don't tolerate it at all. I even quit putting them in tuna fish. It tastes fine without them.

It stormed and rained all night last night. Then it was a heavy mist today most of the day. All the plants just LOVED it!!

We may have gotten more than an inch .. I'm hoping it was about 2 inches. It was a nice cool day in the 70's. Back to 80's tomorrow.

My brother and his wife are coming in less than two weeks, so I need to get busy around this place!!! Lots of deep cleaning to do.

Went to Bible study at church this morning, then we did OCC inventory for a little bit. Came home for the Bible study here at 1 pm.

Our church group got off schedule this month, so we will meet again in about 2 weeks. We have one more chapter in our book about modern-day Christian martyrs.

Tutu— we are still waiting on the rain you got. Went south of us again. And I hear you on the deep cleaning. I am surprised anything I put in the fridge wants to stay there. I need to clean it out.

Rode the exercise bike for 9 minutes while I was straightening some things out with Amazon.

Then did my feet exercises.

Had Bible study this morning. Smaller group than usual but excellent discussion.

After lunch I did my knee exercises.

Washed the double sliding patio doors inside and out. Shoulder not happy. Still have more windows to go.

Filled the hummingbird feeder despite not seeing any around. One can hope.

Think I will walk across the street to my neighbor’s garage sale. People have been waiting in their cars for an hour before they opened. I won't be buying anything but love talking to my wonderful neighbors.

Have a great evening. [hi]

I made pot of chicken noodle soup yesterday. Babied my body and stayed in bed watching tv on a beautiful sunny 80* day. . .NOT FAIR!!!!

This morning was a struggle with headache, sore throat, sneezing and coughing, crying jags, pain, but OTC meds helped, along with a shower and coffee. Stayed in bed till 3pm and was feeling a little better.

Took covid test, negative.
Been gargling with sea salt every 2 hours, it really works.

Refused to waste one more absolutely BEAUTIFUL day and got into pool. Did 10 laps of arm strokes and 10 laps of walking forward and backward. Did not get my head or ears wet.

Weather channel said to limit your time outdoors due to fine particle matter pollution and mold. I’m wondering if that triggered my relapse the past few days.

There must be a slow moving storm to the west of me. A huge dark skyline for the last 2 hours but my backyard sunny. Someone getting ALOT of rain.

Took dog for a walk then sat on the rocking chair on the porch.

Second sunny day in a row! It was baking day so I wasn't out much until later this afternoon.

Hiker, my Daughter saw a hummingbird on the front porch this morning! We have a big flower pot with red geraniums and red petunias in it.

Took pictures of the keets so I can list them for sale.

My sis-in-law called twice to gab.

Lymetoo, I think the 12 day pickles would drive me crazy! I'm tired of it in 7 days! My mom would shorten it by changing the water or boiling the syrup morning and evening and call it a day every 12 hours, instead of 24. That is more my style!!

BB, your chicken noodle soup sounds delicious!

AK, hope you are soon feeling good as new again.

My Four Oclocks are blooming and they smell so good. Went out on the back porch last evening and stopped to figure out what smelled so good? They were just around the corner in the little flowerbed.

Struggled through the day. Was happy to see Ms H today but she still has a bit of a cough and lost some weight. Today was the first day I've seen her since we both came down with Covid in July.

My face is more swollen today and I smell something off in my nose, probably sinuses.

Seeing my GP tomorrow for a regular appointment and will ask about facial swelling.

Was happy to hear how you all are doing!

Ak--Hope the GP was helpful today. Facial swelling can be due to steroids.

Busy day or so it seemed.

I watered the flowers and did a rain dance. May actually get some rain tomorrow.

Did my balance exercises, feet exercises, and shoulder stretches. Then rode the exercise bike 10 minutes.

Called my mom and yakked.

Washed the 4 front windows in the living room.

Sat with my neighbor at her garage sale and chatted.

Wrote a letter and mailed it.

Ran a quick errand.

Filled the safflower feeder. I have 2 hawks hanging around and they scare the smaller birds away.

Tossed salad and gluten free pizza for one tonight. The store bought pizzas are the perfect size for one person.

Plan to be a couch potato this evening.

I have a special family member coming into town tomorrow.
So happy, can’t wait.

So I went to farmers market and bought lots of pretty colored vegetables. Then went to grocery store. I am fully stocked.
It took me twice as long to shop as I have limited energy and severe brain fog.

I also have a few people coming over to swim. I will have to conserve my energy.

I also have an ivig infusion in the morning.
I don’t think I can sit for 4 hours. We’ll see. . . .

I did get into pool today but was moving in slow motion. Did 10 laps and just walked around the pool forward and backward with high steps. Then I sat in lounge chair and it ripped and I fell through.

Took dog for walk.

Talked with my sister.

Neighbor called and told me to come over and pick what I want from his garden. I was so tired so I drove over, lol. I grabbed tomato’s, jalapeño and green peppers.

Dinner was left overs.

Went to my GP today and she told me I can take Mucinex for swelling and stuffiness along with the antibiotics and Predisone. Swelling has gone down a bit. She also said it could be viral (great).

Went to Sam's for groceries afterwards and didn't like the price increases on almost everything but still bought things I needed.

Drove to the bank later and picked up a large green pepper pizza. Ate 3 slices chased with a Mountain Dew. The bright side is I had a salad for lunch with added garlic and red onion.

Watched Netflix this afternoon and evening and now getting ready to read a bit.

BB hope all goes well tomorrow!

Hiker awesome 10 minutes!

See you all tomorrow!

BB--hope you enjoy your relative's visit!

AK--Food prices really are ridiculous, aren't they?

I had a lazy day. No exercises. Felt like my body needed a break.

I did do a load of laundry.

Made my usual Saturday baked salmon, asparagus and sweet potato lunch.

Watched a Beth Moore video (Christian speaker).

Finished up a book and then went to the library.

Storms moving in now. We had rain in the early AM and I will be happy for more as long as it doesn't get severe.

Probably watch a Hallmark movie tonight and read.

Up early and did PT for shoulder and SI joint. Helped Mom with PT for her SI when she woke up.

Made gluten free pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs for brunch then we ran some errands today.

Made fried rice and cucumber/green onion salad for dinner.

Time to read a bit before bed.

AK .. Your diet amazes me. I can't touch anything close to what you eat on a daily basis. You are super woman!!

Went to church around noon and got communion ready. Did odds and ends around here. Pretty lazy day.

See you guys tomorrow!
