And we have exercised our way into December. Great job, everyone! [woohoo]

Let’s continue to encourage each other to get up and move so the holiday extra poundage doesn’t appear! [Big Grin]

Are you going to the gym, walking, shopping (online shopping counts as exercise for the fingers, right?), cleaning, or putting up Christmas decorations? All these and more count as exercise.

Or just tell us about your day!

Have a super week! [group hug]

I watched the National Cathedral Church Service.

I did a load of laundry.

Chatted with my mom for quite a bit.

Then talked to my neighbor for a long time. She is worried about Don, but even though he is in Hospice, he is still getting out a bit and that is good to see.

Went to the public library. I snagged the new Richard Paul Evans Christmas book called Christmas memory. His books are so sentimental.

I watched part of the Bears-Packers football game. Bears blew a 13-point lead.

I have a Hallmark chick flick on now as I get ready to repeat my spaghetti dinner from last night.

Finally got out of the house.
Gassed up the car.
Stopped for coffee.

Dollar General for household supplies.

1st grocery supermarket wanted 10.99 for a pound of bacon and 4.99 for a pound of butter. Walked out and drove to Aldi’s. 3.99 for a pound of bacon and 2.65 for a pound of butter. Much better! So many companies and stores that are price gouging consumers but our elected leaders are focused on Hunter’s laptop, yish.

Walked dog.

Vacuumed laundry room and dinning room.

Afternoon brought extreme fatigue so I laid down, but couldn’t sleep. Turned on tv.

I started dinner early. Decided baked chicken and stuffing. I opened the stuffing box and dropped all the stuffing cubes on kitchen floor. Got out vacuum.

Changed course and made breakfast for dinner. Eggs over easy, bacon and hash browns. It was delicious.

Picked up resistance bands but after 5 minutes, my shoulders were in pain. I’m out of shape.

Took pics of cats sleeping under x-mas tree.
Sent them to family and friends.

Thanks Hiker for getting us motivated for the week!

I took a day to myself. Returned the movie and picked up a few things at the grocery store.

Tried to nap and managed about 10 minutes due to the phone ringing too much.

Watched TV the rest of the day and now going to read before bedtime.

Hiker it's a good thing your sweet neighbor is still able to get out. Hope he's OK.

BB I use a resistance band for my shoulder PT. It's an orange one.

See you cool cats tomorrow!!!

Bonnie— You can’t lose with breakfast for dinner! I haven’t had bacon in ages.

AK-glad you could have a day to yourself.

Today I warmed up on the exercise bike for 5 minutes and then did my knee and feet exercises.

Went two places to get my supplements. They were out of one that I use and you can’t buy it online so I will just have to wait until they order more.

Rode the exercise bike again after lunch for 15 minutes.

Talked to a long time friend (since 8th grade). We don’t talk often but always seem to click when we do. Sadly she lives far away from me.

Called mom. Then called a florist to help mom order a Christmas bouquet for her friend.

Watched a Christian video.

Tried to nap in my recliner but couldn’t sleep.

Chatted briefly with a neighbor who brought me a handmade Christmas dishcloth. She usually would bring cookies but knows I am gluten free. Such a sweetheart.

Took the garbage bin down to the curb.

I am having baked chicken breast with green beans and tossed salad for dinner tonight. Easy dinner to make and I like easy.

Was up early getting ready for my 3rd and hopefully final dentist appointment for my crown. Receptionist informs me my appointment is NEXT Monday. Normally I would get mad at myself but I took it surprisingly well, i wasn’t in the mood for 4 shots in my mouth today.

Stopped for coffee.

I am getting my energy back and am so happy.

Came home, put on country music and put up more decorations. I’m out of lights, ornaments, garland, window displays, etc so I’m done. It’s looks SPECTACULAR 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

Took dog for 2 walks today.

I finally took down my door screen which has a doggy door built in it. I swapped it out for full glass panel. That was hard work. Windex’d it and it looks brand new.

hiker-thanks for reminding it’s garbage day! The minute I read your post, I got dressed and went outside.

My neighbor brought over tuna noodle casserole, enough for 2 meals. I never had it with peas in it, it was quite good.

Talked to family member for over an hour. I have to visit, I miss them.

I made out my x-mas list last week and slowly are adding gift ideas to each name. My plan is cross off a few people every few days, that way I won’t get overwhelmed. Christmas can be so stressful if you don’t have a game plan. Plus there is 4 birthdays, Oh My!

Made tea and peanut butter cookies. Time to relax.

Bonnie—one of my favorite casseroles was tuna casserole with peas. Since my mom was gluten free she put potato chips in it and it was surprisingly good. (Had mushroom soup in it, too)

BB, I like to get Christmas gifts well in advance also. Saves a lot of headaches and last minute rushing out buying. Our family started writing a list of ideas/suggestions of things we'd like/want and then the rest can pick n choose what to get from the list.

Baking day. Today I made 4 loaves of sourdough bread also. Hope the neighbor likes his loaf. The rest go along to the store to sell.

Helped daughter put her ugly quilt in the frame this evening. She is knotting it like a comfort instead of quilting it. Much faster this way.

Gabbed on the phone with a friend awhile.

Have 2 more loads of wash to do.

I'm tired tonight.

I am done Christmas shopping but this year I am only buying for my mom, so very easy. My brother and I decided not to exchange gifts so I may buy myself a few things.

This morning I did my balance exercises, feet exercises, and shoulder stretches.

Then I ironed a lot of turtlenecks. I tend to fold them and stuff them in the chest and they sure needed smoothing out.

I boiled some bratwursts and will broil them tomorrow for dinner.

After lunch I ran a quick errand. Bought myself a pretty wall calendar for the kitchen for 2023. I still like putting appointment on it as well as on my phone.

I rode the exercise bike 15 minutes this afternoon.

I finished the Richard Paul Evans book called The Christmas Memory. It is a true story from his childhood and very moving. I looked at the list of his books online and there are several I haven’t read that our public library has. 😃

Leftovers from last night’s dinner. The I will watch basketball—Illini vs Texas. Texas is ranked #2 in the country right now, but I always hold out hope for U of I.

Have a great evening.

I went Christmas shopping last night and it wore me out! My Mom is the hardest person to buy for. I always give cash and gifts to open so found 2 gourmet jams, one fig and the other apricot, a 3 pack of different truffle oils and 2 Italian seasoning grinders.

I'll buy a good rustic loaf of bread on the 23rd to go in the gift bag with the oils and spices. She loves the bread and dipping oil at Bonefish Grill.

Also while in Atlanta I found a coppery turtleneck for her.

Today I gassed up the car and went to my first cancer support meeting. Instead of an hour it lasted 2. It's Christian based and today was their first meeting ever. It went well but the 4 of us needed tissues. The meetings are every other Tuesday which I hope is doable.

So happy to read everyone's posts!

See you all tomorrow!

Rainy day here. I did a few loads of laundry.

Took care of the chickens & goats today. Got 3 eggs. Accidently stepped on one that was hidden in the straw on the floor.

Finished up one dress for my cousin and started cutting out the next one.

Called my brother and gabbed with him a little. Also gabbed with my sis-in-law.

Texted with 2 friends.

Checked the tracking on some of my gifts that haven't arrived yet. Looks like they are still all on time.

Got some sourdough bread baked yesterday. Sent a loaf to the neighbor to try it. He loved it and wants two loaves a month. I wasn't sure if it might be too sour, but he says its just right! I think I'll try a different recipe for my family.

I'm tired. Feel like I worked hard, but really didn't do that much.

AK-The cancer support group is a great idea for you.

Manna—what you get done in a day amazes me.

I went grocery shopping this morning and then went back this afternoon. Needed mustard for my bratwurst tonight.

Did my knee and feet exercises.

Rode the exercise bike for 20 minutes. My legs are tired.

Called mom.

Put important appointments on my new wall calendar although I will wait to put it on the kitchen wall.

Made an appointment with nurse practitioner at ENT for Friday. My Eustachian tubes are going crazy again and I want to make sure the ear tubes are still in place. Can’t get into the MD until midJanuary. So, if I need a new ear tube it may have to wait but at least I will know.

Off to broil the brats and add a veggie and tossed salad for dinner.

Ugh...one of those nights of just 3 hours of sleep.

Made coffee and drove to Hardee's for one order of biscuit and gravy, which is my Mom's fav. We split the order and I topped each with a fried egg.

Had to deal with a car insurance issue again. Since we have one car we lost our multi-car and multi-line discounts. The homeowner's policy is in my Mom's name and the car is in both with me as the policy owner. So I need to change the homeowner's policy names...sigh...

I went to visit Mrs H and her oldest daughter and stayed for over 2 hours. She's doing great and it was awesome to see her.

I'm so ready to get some sleep but have to get Mom's dinner and do our PT. Afterwards I'm hitting the hay!

Manna my sister was the bread maker in our family and I sure miss her homemade bread!

Hiker hope your ears are OK. Oh BTW my Mom developed tinnitus yesterday on top of existing hearing loss. Hope she's OK.

Well off to wait for my Mom and then bedtime.

Cloudy and around 60* today.

Decided to butcher a couple of the extra roosters this afternoon. Was Hubby's first time helping. I hadn't helped for years. We used to grow meat birds for our own use at home.

So 5 birds ready to eat. Want to make some bone broth with the boney pieces.

Got a dress cut out for my cousin. Started sewing it, but didn't get very far yet.

Need to mix up the sourdough bread tonight for tomorrow's baking.

UPS has seasonal workers helping deliver packages. Tonight a pick up truck came with packages for us. So much fun seeing what is coming!

I'm ready for a cup of tea and some dark chocolate!
Good night!

Say a prayer for my Sis-in-law, she's not been sleeping well at night.

This whole week has been cloudy and in the 40’s. Expecting rain later tonight and for the next few days.

This morning I made a meatloaf and froze most of it.

I also made blueberry muffins so I could have one with my eggs for lunch. The batch only makes 9 so I froze 4 and left 4 in the fridge.

I did my balance and feet exercises and then some shoulder stretches.

After lunch I rode the exercise bike for 20 minutes. Very boring but I had a Christian video on my iPad to watch while I rode so that helped.

I called my brother to wish him a happy birthday and chatted for a long time. Talked with mom briefly.

Manna, will be praying for your SIL. Not sleeping just ruins everything.

Repeating last night’s dinner of brats, salad and vegetable. I almost always cook for two nights when I cook. Otherwise I doubt I would cook. As you can tell I am definitely not a chef!👩‍🍳

Went to the dreaded Walmart this morning. Couldnt find a toy on my list. Bought all my ingredients for a week’s worth of smoothies I will make tomorrow. Forgot to get a gift certificate, ughhhhh!

Stopped at liquor store for wine and champs just in case. I rarely drink anymore, miss it but not the hangover on top of the morning Lyme hangover.

Wiped out when I got home. Made large kettle of fresh ginger, turmeric, lemon green tea. Neighbor called saying she was struggling so when I walked the dog, I dropped of a thermos of the tea for her.

Laid in bed watching Netflix. Decided to use my resistance bands on my legs. Quit after 5 minutes, no energy. Then my back pain started so I turned on the healing pad.

Been in bed ever since.
I’m too young to be this old.

BB, my Hubby used to say he feels like he's 90. I should ask him how old he feels now? He's been improving the past 2 1/2 years. Praise God!

Baking day. 36 loaves today.

Some packages came today. I ordered a piece of flannel to make a nightgown for my sis-in-law. Tomorrow I'd like to start at it.

Gave the chickens food & water & gathered the 5 eggs.

Untangled the dog. We are keeping her tied again. She doesn't like some of the delivery men, others she loves. Wonder what the difference is?

Slept better with the help of Melatonin gummies. Made a lunch of grilled cheese tomato sliders and soup.

2 rounds of PT a.m. and p.m. for me and Mom.

Major shopping day at the commissary and Sam's. Josh went with me to Sam's.

Bought some rum cakes as Christmas gifts for Mrs H and her daughters and DIL. Also snagged a rum Stollen for my Mom.

At Sam's we bought things for Christmas eve appetizers and snagged a bottle of Asti Spumanti for $9.98!

This year I'm not cooking Christmas dinner. Have a friend joining us and it'll be laid back with leftover apps and cocktails with Mom and Josh and we'll probably watch a movie.

Hiker it was my brother's BDay also. We've never been invited to celebrate with them since he remarried in 1988.

Manna it was almost 80 today so shorts and a tee shirt day...so depressing! Love to hear how busy you all are and am so happy your hubs is improving.

BB that was so nice to drop off tea for your neighbor. I bet that tea is amazing! I'm watching Netflix tonight too.

See you all tomorrow!

Rainy foggy day. Would have been a good day for hot chocolate but I have none on hand. Maybe tea tonight.

Rode the exercise bike 5 minutes for my usual warm up for my knee exercises and feet exercises.

Went to the nurse practitioner at the ENT office. She said one ear tube was starting to come out and the other was so covered with ear wax she couldn’t tell if it was in place or out of the ear drum.

So she prescribed antibiotic drops for the waxy ear. I hate to take antibiotic drops when there is no infection but if there is still a hole in the ear drum I can’t just use hydrogen peroxide or other ear wax removal drops as they would damage the inner ear.

I will go back late January to see the MD and I am sure he will have a better handle on whether the ear tubes are in or out. Wish I didn’t have to wait so long but he is so behind on surgeries due to Covid that he only sees patients in his office on Mondays.

Went to the pharmacy to pick up the prescription. It wasn’t ready so I came home, ate lunch and went back to get it. Only a few blocks away.

Then I rode the exercise bike another 20 minutes. Am exhausted.

Called mom and then spent the afternoon reading.

Will probably read and watch TV tonight.

Store bought gluten free pizza and tossed salad for dinner because it is Friday and I don’t cook Friday nights.

ak- every time I use melatonin, I awake so groggy. Broken sleep is my nemesis. All my pillows and comforter are on the floor in the morning. I’m ALWAYS tired.

MannaMe- I love bread, fresh Italian, rye, English muffins, pizza dough, sourdough, wheat not so much. Do you eat a lot of bread or are you sick of it since you bake so much of it?

hiker-no, not your ears. So aggravating having to suffer for another month. Hopefully the drops will help.

LymeToo-where are you?

This morning was rough, so tired from Walmart yesterday but forced myself into shower and get moving.

Stopped for coffee.

Went to Ollie’s for little boy’s toys. Couldn’t find any GI Joe or Polar Bear Express toys but ended buying LOTS of other items. And their book selection is to die for! HUGE and CHEAP! I was in that store for 1 1/2 hour, they have so much stuff.

Stopped at Panera for a salad. Wow are they expensive.

Walked dog.

Afternoon fatigue hit hard. I had no energy to chew my salad. Laid in bed but only napped for 10 minutes. How is that possible?

Tomorrow not leaving the house.

Sunshine today! Nice to be outside. Hubby and I tacked empty feed bags around the bottom edge of the guinea house to keep the cold wind out over winter.

I have 8 quarts of chicken rice soup in the canner.

Tracing off a pattern for a night gown for my sis-in-law for Christmas. Want to start sewing it this evening.

BB, I love fresh homemade bread. Haven't gotten tired of it yet. I don't eat a lot of it as I will gain weight if I go overboard on it.

Ollies is a fun store to shop in. You never know what great treasures you will find! Love their book section. Also like getting sheet sets and towels there. Good prices!

I don't like using melatonin either. 5 HTP works much better for me, without the groggy mornings.

Discovered the dog used my sewing room as the bathroom! Ugh! At least it has linoluem on the floor and was easy enough to wash up. When the boys came home from work, Sonny said he had to clean up the bathroom floor. He was amazed and very glad he missed stepping in it! Ugh!

Super busy day. Up early and did my PT. Once fortified with coffee started prepping salad for tomorrow's spaghetti dinner. Invited Josh (of course) and Mom's BFF.

Once Mom was up helped her with PT and fixed a big almost brunch of pork sausage patties, white corn grits, toast with butter and fig preserves and soft scrambled eggs. We both cleaned our plates!

After her shower we went to the Dollar Tree for gift wrapping supplies. She was so worn out afterwards but still crocheted the day away making Christmas gifts.

I fried boneless porkchops for dinner with mushroom rice risotto and butternut squash. We also had a small side of cucumbers.

I'm trying to cook more often for my Mom.

Manna just say no to the dog pee! LOL! Mrs H and her daughter's chihuahuas left puddles and other surprises for us.

BB these gummies must be mild. I take them a couple times a night.

Hiker those darn ear tubes need to stay put! My niece in FL had trouble with hers when she was young. Hope you can hang in there until your appointment.

Netflix time and then sleepy time!

I did a load of laundry this morning.

Then did my balance exercises, feet exercises, and shoulder stretches.

I went to the public library to get books on hold.

Watched a little bit of the Illini basketball game.

Talked to mom.

Wrote a couple more Xmas cards.

Took a short nap. Then chatted with my BFF for over an hour.

Watching a Christmas movie tonight.

Cloudy day with a few sprinkles.

Hubby & Sonny helped the neighbor build a roof.

Cleaned up my sewing room floor AGAIN! Tonight the door gets latched so the dog can't get in.

Got a few seams sewed.

Made chicken salad for supper and for dessert a bluebery cake.

Went out to take care of the chickens, and discovered one of the goats had a kid! She hid it under the guinea house. Put them both in the kid pen with fresh straw & hay.

Washed a few loads of laundry, including a load of bathroom carpets.

Need to fold all the laundry and put it away.

Busy day with PT and getting ready for company.

Made the spaghetti sauce and wrapped almost all my presents. I still have a bit more shopping to do.

Wiped down bathroom and set up TV trays in the living room for dinner.

This wasn't a great idea because my Mom's BFF didn't want to use a tray and almost spilled her spaghetti several times so no more dinner in the living room.

My Mom didn't want to mess up the Christmas table settings but I told her next time we're eating at the table. LOL!

Dinner was a success and we had a wonderful time. My Mom's friend left at 9:00 and Josh at 11:00. I just finished cleaning up and I'm ready for some downtime.

Hiker getting cards ready was on my to do list but didn't get to them. Tomorrow I hope to have some extra time.

Manna chicken salad for dinner sounds great! It's one of my favs.

Time to read and get some sleep.
