Hello and welcome to the exercise thread.

Are you ready for another week of movement? [woohoo]

Here we encourage each other to exercise in any way we can.

It might be walking, vacuuming, washing the dog, baking, grocery shopping etc.

Or just tell us about your day.

Have a super week! [hi]

Pretty typical Sunday for me.

I started out watching a video of my local church service but it cut out in the middle of a very good sermon.

So, I switched over to the National Cathedral Service on Youtube but no audio. Gave up and just read the Bible.

I did a load of laundry.

Took my recycling to the bins at where I used to work. The bins at the close grocery lot weren't available today.

Talked to mom. Then chatted with my BFF.

Filled the safflower feeder.

Finished reading a good thriller novel.

Went to the library to get 5 books on hold and returned several.

Meatload, green beans, tossed salad and raspberries for dinner tonight.

Then another chick flick and reading.

What can we do?

I didn't do much today .. after 4 1/2 hours at church, we went to eat at a new place and really loved it. It's in a very old house downtown and is owned by friends from the theater where hubby used to work.

It was affirming to share stories. Ha. [Wink]

We will be back there again. Nice and quiet and actually off the beaten path. (for now)

Came home and I took a 3 hour nap. Zombie!

I will work on sewing kits again tonight for the shoeboxes. Made about 12 of them last night.

We meet tomorrow to put pencil bags in the boxes and whatever else needs to be done.

Our party is Nov. 5th. It's always fun!!

hiker .. the Bible is always the best anyway!!

Tut—what kind of food did the old house serve? Sounds like my kind of place.

Did my bike warm up, knee exercises and feet exercises.

Called mom. Then talked to a friend's mom about the insurance dilemma for state retirees. We traded information.

Worked on Bible study.

Guy came to properly vent bathroom fan through roof. He checked out the roof and resealed a few areas where nails were coming out. Said it probably had 3-5 more years before I need a new one.

So, I had to clean out the coat closet again for him to get to the attic and put everything back. Will do it one more time when they come to put more insulation in.

Just took the garbage down to the curb. Brr. Only 40 out with 30 mph winds. Hard freeze for sure the next few nights. And now it is snowing. [Eek!]

Burgers for dinner!

hiker .. they had sandwiches, like pulled pork and turkey meatloaf, salads, etc.

I had the pulled pork and the best coleslaw ever. It had fruit in it! HA! Tasted like they put a bit of fruit cocktail in it, but the server said it was grapes and pears when I asked her about it.

It was only a bit of fruit to give it that sweet taste. It probably didn't have white sugar.

Hubby had the turkey meatloaf and pea salad. They accidentally gave him red potato salad, so he got to taste both.

He even got to sign his name on the "Entertainers' Wall." I haven't seen one of those before.

I'm exhausted after working on shoeboxes this morning and two trips to WM. Then I spent time pruning my plants and getting ready for the freeze. I brought 4 or 5 plants inside.

I'm so sad that I won't have any morning glory blooms this year. The freeze is about 2 weeks early (At least) I covered the plant, but if it makes it it will be a miracle.

Tomorrow I will travel a bit to see my friend Sharon.

Hiker .. I don't know how you can put up with that wind all the time. We are expecting 11 mph winds and that is windy for us. LOL.

Another very windy cool day.

My neighbor came back over to take another look at my front door. He is having trouble finding the right parts and doesn't want to take everything apart unless he knows he can put it back together in working order.

Apparently, not only does he have to know who installed the door (guy retired and company is no more) but he has to know where the guy ordered the door from. I haven't a clue and the guy moved and disconnected his phone. I guess door manufacturers contract out work to put certain pieces on the door such as the latch that isn't working on mine. Such a nice neighbor to help. He said he is so "pissed off" now that he sees it as a challenge.

I did my balance and feet exercises.

Worked on Bible study.

Called DirectTV again looking for a discount. They gave me a one-time $30 off for next month. I think the day of long-term promotions are gone.

Cooked a chicken breast but forgot I had a leftover hamburger. So will have the hamburger tonight and chicken tomorrow.

Will watch the second gubernatorial debate tonight for Illinois. Maximum entertainment as neither candidate gives a straight answer, and they look foolish.

hiker-Try Spectrum if they’re in your area. Not my favorite company but they sent me an offer of 19.99 a month for 100 stations.

This morning went to pick up my new meds but they were out of stock. So I stopped and picked up assorted slices of pie instead.
I dropped off slices to both of my neighbors.

Walked dog to mailbox and found a syringe laying on ground at the stop sign. I called the Town to notify someone to pick it up. Today was garbage day so maybe it fell from truck or maybe not.

Had teleheath appointment with Immunologist.
I was in pj’s and in bed, lol.

Had soup and salad and pie. Totally delicious meal.

My car is acting up. It is overheating and telling me to turn off ac even though I don’t have the ac on? Sounds expensive.

I did 10 reps of exercise bands on legs and arms and had to quit. It’s like all the cells in my body have no energy left.

Just made chocolate mint tea. Time for a movie.

Hi guys and thanks Hiker for starting us off this week.

On the phone for over a couple hours getting Mom's appointments set. We're heading to Atlanta in the morning for a PET scan.

Today she couldn't have caffeine, sugar or carbs and no exercise before the test. We both did our PT though.

Tomorrow she can only have water and her meds until after the scan and bloodwork.

I went and voted with Josh this afternoon and then we stopped for BBQ and went to his house to chat and watch some scary episodes of Creepshow.

Already in bed. Mom is medicated so she'll get some sleep.

I'm wiped out, probably more emotional than physical.

Night guys!

[hi]

Ugh, Bonnie. I hate car expenses!

Hiker .. Has he tried Amazon for the parts? Stupid question, most likely!!

AK .. Hope everything goes well tomorrow! Rest up!

I was so tired and achy this morning, I could barely do my exercising at cardiac rehab. Just so wasted! I cut back on a few things and made it through.

Then went to visit my friend Sharon. She fixed eggs for us for lunch. I brought the cheese because she was out. She has farm-fresh eggs, so they were good!

Stopped to buy fried chicken on the way home for hubby and I to have for supper. It was good.

Still tired .. hope to catch up tonight.

My morning glory will be dead by tomorrow morning. What a crying shame!! Never got a single bloom. [Frown]

It's supposed to be 21 degrees tonight.

See you guys tomorrow! ( The Lord willing and the creek don't rise ) .. LOL.

Today was cloudy and cool. We wore coats to go out. This afternoon climbed up the mountain to the pears trees. Picked up enough pears to make at least 2 big batches of pear honey. The trees are too tall to pick the pears.

Made some granola with graham cracker crumbs in it.

Did the laundy, put it all in the dryer to dry. Still need to fold most of it.

Oh, I forgot to pick my saffron! The flowers only last a day. I guess I'll get a flashlight and go see how many are out there.

Hubby is complaining that he's not feeling so good lately. Hoping the Lyme/ Babs isn't flaring.

AK--I have been praying for safe travel and a good test results for your mom. Hope you treated yourselves to a good meal there in the big city.

Manna--Hope your hubby is feeling better soon!

I did my knee and feet exercises.

Went to the dermatologist. I go every 6 months due to the melanoma I had a few years ago. Got a good report.

Went grocery shopping and picked up my seizure meds from the pharmacy.

Called mom and chatted quite a while.

Did odds and ends around the house.

Went to start making dinner tonight and realized that last night I ate the tossed salad and vegetable but not the leftover hamburger. So, I guess I will eat the burger tonight and save the chicken I cooked yesterday for tomorrow. [bonk]

Did my balance exercises and feet exercises this morning.

Then had Bible study with my group. Our leader's leukemia is out of remission, so she will have to go back to chemo treatments. Sad for her.

Went to get my covid bivalent booster. I am not a big fan of vaccines so really had to pray about this one.

Did my shoulder exercises when I got home, since that is supposed to ease the arm pain from the vaccine and so far no arm pain and just a slight headache. The other covid shots gave me major headaches, so am hoping to avoid that.
Lots of people there but the clinic was run very efficiently.

Had a craving for a root beer and I so rarely drink soda but I stopped at Dollar General to get one. Drank half and will finish it tomorrow. Drinking lots of water, though.

Ran a banking errand for my mom.

Then took it easy with a book in the recliner. The book and the recliner are good friends. [Big Grin]

Am having chicken, zucchini, tossed salad and blackberries for dinner.

Finally got a decent night’s sleep, only awoke one time.

Had iv infusion this morning and the time flew by! My regular nurse was back, yippie. I told her about last months nurse, who after 15 minutes of infusion, realized she missed my vein. Had to get poked again, And then 2 bottles ran dry un-noticed until machine stated beeping. (when that happens, you must disconnect and flush lines with saline to get air bubbles out and then re-connect.)

Contractor who I hired in March to fix holes in my house eves that the squirrels made, FINALLY showed up today. But he only installed 2 windows that I also ordered. So I still have holes in my eves. But I LOVE the new windows.

Drove to Dollar General to pick up antifreeze due to car overheating. I filled radiator in their parking lot. It was bone dry. We’ll see if it over heats again. . . .

Finally picked up my scripts because pharmacy was out of stock earlier this week. I’m hopeful Ill get my spirit back and end the brutal night sweats.

I decided to climb stairs for exercise today.
I barely made it to top of stairs, heart pounding out of my chest. Had to lay on bed for a few minutes and deep breathe to get rhythm normal. Not my greatest idea.

Today was cold and the rain was coming down sideways. Had the last of my veg beef soup, it was one of my best batches.
I’m thinking of making French onion soup tomorrow.

My favorite Aunt is in the hospital with pneumonia and uti.
I couldn’t go visit her but I sent a get well card. Please say a prayer for my dearest sweet Aunt Theresa.

Manna--How is your hubby feeling?

BB--French onion soup sounds wonderful. I will be praying for your aunt.

I put away the patio chairs and small tables this morning. Deb and Charlie stopped by and helped me as the stairs down from my deck are really steep.

Rode the exercise bike to warm up for my knee and feet exercises.

Talked to mom.

Tree trimmers showed up without notice. Yesterday I got an email saying it would be 4-8 weeks and they would call a week in advance. Glad I was home so I could supervise.

Realized most of the marigolds got nipped by the hard freeze so I pulled them up. The aster, mums and dianthus still look good.

Called to talk again with the Medicare Advantage plan we may switch my mom to. Lady was nice and answered all my questions. Still hoping we won't have to switch but not looking good. Still don't understand why the hospital (Level 1 trauma Center) and physician's group can't come to an agreement with Aetna.

Took a wee nap in the recliner and read a bit.

Off to figure out dinner and then probably watch some TV.

Got up early to go grocery shopping.
My sister will be in town tomorrow and I always cook for her. I also bought plug in wax melt warmer and a pumpkin spice wax, both on sale for her.

Washed a load of throw rugs.

Took dog for 2 walks today, it was sunny but windy. Love the Fall colors.

I am feeling better. Tried to exercise with resistance bands but could only muster up a 5 minute work out. So I left the bands on the kitchen table and every time I walked by, I would do 10 reps.

My friend wants me to go to gym with her tomorrow @ 10am but I go earlier, especially on the weekends, to avoid people. Plus I wear a mask and sometimes feel uncomfortable when I walk in.

Watered all the plants.

Sat on the porch reading in my rocking chair with all the animals.
Enjoying the day.

Made baked chicken breast, mashed potatoes and broccoli.

I’ve had lots of Deja vu feelings today. Might be the meds.

Sorry guys that I've been MIA! Just struggling a bit with my own health...not sleeping or eating well.

Mom's PET scan results were in her MyChart online records and a friend stopped by for dinner tonight and helped me weigh through the medical jargon.

It appears to have metastasized to her lungs and one rib. Will have a definitive answer after the biopsy.

Her results will again go to a tumor board of doctors who'll discuss treatment options.

Night gang!

[sleepy]

I am so sorry for your mom! I am so glad she has you!

Try to get in some exercise if you can - if only stretching and some deep breathing.

Take care and sleep well.

AK--Sounds like the PET scan didn't show anything that you didn't already know about. I know it is still disheartening, though.

BB--Hope you enjoyed your sister's visit and I bet she not only enjoys your company but your cooking.

Ann-what have you been up to?

I had a pretty typical Saturday.

I did a load of laundry.

Then did my balance exercises, feet exercises, and shoulder stretches.

Watched the video that goes with the Bible study for this week and then worked ahead.

Baked salmon, asparagus and a potato for lunch.

Went to the recycling bins at the grocery parking lot.

Filled the bird feeders. About 80 today but so dry and windy that I didn’t stay outside long. No need to aggravate my allergies.

Watched a Beth Moore video and then spent some time reading.

Defrosted meatloaf for dinner and will have it with steamed zucchini and a tossed salad. Rarely do I skip my tossed salad at dinner.

Have a great evening!

hiker-Even though we all have the same routines, don't you find time is flying by? 2022 is winding down, unbelievable!

Manna-Hope everything is ok, miss your posts.

akin-Having been in the medical maze, your wit will be an extremely important asset for getting your Mom the very best of treatments. Together, you will find a positive strategy.

My sister got covid over 8 months ago. She has been diagnosed with the same thing Justin Bieber has, Ramsey Hunt syndrome. She has no feeling or taste on right side of face, doc’s want to do do another mri. She’s pretty tough, says she chews her food on the other side to taste foods and she’s learning to live with the condition.

She bought my dog a Bills doggy t-shirt. Little Ellie will be the talk of the neighborhood when she struts her stuff on our mailbox walks, lol.

My Aunt is still in the hospital but her fever is down and she is eating. They are hopeful she’ll be released next week and then to rehab for a week. Thank you God ⭐️

Didn’t get my afternoon nap so another early night. I had a good day so I’m very content and thankful.
