Here we go with another week of exercise! [woohoo]

Join us as we encourage each other to move about.
Are you raking leaves? Perhaps you are shoveling snow. Maybe you are shopping and cleaning for Thanksgiving guests etc. All these and more count as exercise.

And if you didn't get much exercise, that is okay, too. We would love to hear about your day.

Have a wonderful week! [hi]

I watched the National Cathedral Church service like I usually do.

I did a load of laundry.

I vacuumed the car and then swept the steps leading from the garage to the basement. So many leaves have blown in.

I chatted with mom this afternoon and watched a bit of football.

I filled up the bird feeders since some snow is expected the next few days.

Went to the recycling bins at the grocery store parking lot near me and also dropped library books in the drop box there. So convenient.

Then I went across the street from the grocery to Dollar General to get a few items like cans of tuna.

Planning to read and watch another Christmas Hallmark movie tonight. If I can't have romance in my own life, I can live vicariously through Hallmark films. [Big Grin]

Went early shopping but everyone else went early shopping too. The grocery stores were packed. Got a Butterball turkey for .79 a lb.
Still spent a lot.

Made an really nice early dinner, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and peas. I didn’t burn anything, yippie.

Took a picture of the dog wearing her Bills sweatshirt.
Then a picture of my boy cat wearing the same sweatshirt and sent the pics to my sister asking “Who wore it Better?” LOL.

The Bills game was the best and worst game of this year. You literally could not get up and go to the bathroom or you would miss something. It went into overtime. CRAZY. Bills lost.

Here’s what tailgating looks like @ a Bills game
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRxouPTG/

Got out the Christmas decorations and checked to see if I need to buy lights. Always need lights.

My princess cat was sleeping on top of her kitty litter house. She’s acting so weird. Later I applied her medicated spray and brushed all the animals.

Cleaned my bathroom and washed the rugs,

Rolled up my large heavy comforter and put it in the trunk of my car. I have to wash it at the laundromat because it’ll break my washer.

Stay warm guys.

Bartenderbonnie--I can just imagine you going wild watching the Bills game. Going wild does count as exercise!! lol

I warmed up on the exercise bike for 5 minutes and then did my knee and feet exercises. Then after lunch I rode the exercise bike for 10 more minutes.

I tried on my warm jeans and none fit. Uh oh. I am so hard to fit with jeans and now most places sell jeans that are very thin and not winter warm. Need to look for my long underwear!

Filled one of the bird feeders.

Went and gassed up the car.

Soaped the snow shovels. We are under a winter weather advisory tonight and tomorrow and seems like the snow forecast has now extended through Thursday.

Called mom. She was chatty.

Took the garbage out to the bin but decided there wasn't enough in the bin to make it worthwhile dragging it to the curb and getting it out of the snow tomorrow.

I may watch Illini basketball tonight. Tis the season where college football and college basketball overlap.

Hi, everyone!

Bonnie, sorry your team lost! But the battle is always fun to watch.

Hiker .. Are you staying warm over there??

We took our shoeboxes in today. We took them to a different church this year. Just so happens it's about 1 mile from our place... but 6 miles from church.

We enjoyed the excitement of dropping them off. Our job is done until next year.

OH, BUT WAIT!!! After leaving there, I went to WalMart to buy more flip flops. They are on sale and you can't beat 50 cents for shoes!

Any shoes are shoes when you don't have ANY!! I thought I bought 100 but it seems I can't count. So it was 96. Took at least 45 min to check out. Long story.

UGH.. Tried to buy underwear for the kids too, but the sale was off and they finally gave them to me for the sale price since they were online for the sale price.

It took 3 people to complete the transaction and then I still had to go to customer service to get the refund for the overcharge. Sheesh.

I guess I need to start on my Bible study for Wednesday.

It's cold here and will snow tonight. It may be snowing now.

Take care, everyone! [hi]

Tutu--96 flip flops is great. Bet the checker wasn't too happy, though. lol

It snowed off and on all day, but fortunately, the pavement was too warm for it to stick. So, I ended up dragging the garbage bin to the curb when I got up this morning.

Did my balance and feet exercises.

Made muffins and then cooked a pork loin.

After lunch I rode the exercise bike for 15 minutes.

I finished up the book I was reading and took it back to the library and came home with 5 more. [Smile]

Talked a bit with my brother. He and his wife are coming early next week just for a couple of days, so we were figuring out the schedule. I will stay with mom and they will stay in a hotel as usual. I know mom will be so happy to see him but it also throws her out of her routine which seems to affect her memory more than usual.

Off to fix dinner.

TuTu-that is so sweet of your church making boxes for others less fortunate. It’s such a great idea!

hiker-I also returned my library books today but I stayed 1/2 hour and couldn’t find a book I would be interested in reading. Sometimes that happens. Sometimes I get a book I’ve already read. [bonk]

Stopped and got Chinese take out. Ate 1/2 and now I’m ready to finish it off.

Haven’t talked to anyone, no neighbors, or my aunt or my sister.
Probably my mood, don’t feel like talking. Haven’t been able to go to the gym either.

Watered all my plants.

Vacuumed dinning room and picked up all the cat toys.

Was supposed to make my smoothies for the week but ran out of energy. Takes about one hour, slicing up the veggies and fruit then pouring them in individual bottles. I need to lose 10 lbs (in my dreams) and they help fill me up.

My anxiety is starting up over my schedule next week. Dentist, primary, LLMD and an infusion. Plus Thanksgiving. I don’t think my body will cooperate but I CANT cancel any appointment. I used tell-health for my last primary and LLMD appointments so they want to see me. I did not choose these dates, it’s all they had open. We’ll see . . . .

Watched the whole season 5 of The Crown on Netflix in 2 days,
Appreciate any ideas on good shows or movies.

Thank you guys for the happy birthday wishes for my Mom! Dinner was great and the carrot cake was awesome! My Mom scored with cash and a lovely orchid.

Josh stayed til 3:00 a.m.! Boy was I worn out the next day.

Today I took her and her bestie to the PX where she bought a cute little purse. Afterwards they had a meeting of the International Wives Club so I attended also.

My Mom's social life is more active than mine! The same club is taking us all out for a Mexican dinner this Thursday.

My plan on losing weight before Thanksgiving so I could gain a bit during that time is failing miserably!

Hiker I know what you mean about clothes not fitting!

Hope you guys getting cold and snow stay warm. I still haven't worn a jacket yet down here.

Off to read or watch TV!

Night all!

Snowing again all day today. My porch is getting a bit icy because of the wind whipping.

I did my 5 minute bike warmup before my knee and feet exercises.

Worked on Bible study.

Called mom. Checked in with my brother about a few things before he comes for a visit.

After lunch I rode the exercise bike for 15 minutes.

My neighbor came over to tell me he has cancer all through his body and probably only has 3-6 weeks to live if that. In my heart, I already knew as he has had no energy the past few weeks and his kids have been over there constantly. Please pray for Don. I am very sad about this. I couldn't ask for a better neighbor.

Time to make dinner and read.

Damp, cloudy, rainy, snow showery day. Currently 34*.

Cut out a dress last night. Sewed it together this morning except for the hem. Packed it up to send through the mail. Caught the mail lady before she left. She waited till Hubby got the label printed. When I told her what it is, she wanted to know if I sell dresses?

Her grand daughter likes cotton dresses. When I get some made this winter I shall let her know, so she can get some for her. Now I've got an incentive to get girls dresses done. I have 2 banana boxes full & 2 bags of ladies dresses to cut down to girls dresses.

Want to cut a dress for myself tonight.

Cut the dead stems & leaves off the dahlias and boxed the bulbs up to plant next spring.

Folded wash and put it away.

Daughter made chicken noodle soup for supper.

The girls went shopping this morning and got a few things for our Christmas Box that we are giving to a family that had a hard year.

Hubby helped Daughter clean out the goat pen so the doors can be opened easily. Also patched a hole in the wall between the goat pen and the chicken pen.

This morning I was outside the barn filling water buckets and heard a ruckus in the barn. When I opened the door discovered there were goats in the chicken pen!! Eating chicken feed! Should told 'em they're gonna have to lay eggs if they eat that feed! LOl

Never a dull moment around here.........

Me and Mom went to the commissary and bought things for Thanksgiving. I'm making a ham, potato salad and deviled eggs to take to my brother's.

I'm also making bread stuffing baked with 2 turkey thighs and half a breast on top for me, Mom and Josh to have later for second dinner!

Mom was going to do the turkey and dressing but we got a call today that they've scheduled her bone biopsy on the 23rd. It was the only one available before her follow-up on December 1st.

So we're heading to Atlanta on the busiest traveling day of the year!

Please keep us in your prayers!

Hiker I'll be praying for your sweet neighbor Don. Sure hope he's not living alone!

Manna laughed about the goats! I was talking to a friend of mine on Saturday about goats. She said her horse wasn't a very good lawn mower and I suggested goats.

Today I went outside to take my hoses off the spigot and had no luck with one of them. It's always something! Hope it doesn't get below freezing before I can tackle it!

Time for either a cup of cocoa or tea.

Later friends!

[hi]

AK—Your little mom may be sore after that biopsy. Will pray for safe travel.

My neighbor, Don, does live alone. His wife died of cancer 18 months ago. They both smoked. His kids live in town so they have been over quite a bit. He is a dear dear man and we watch out for each other.

Manna—your goat report made my day. [Big Grin]

I'm so sorry to hear about Don. It's heartbreaking. I will be losing a few good friends before too long.

Praying that God will heal them.

ak-May God watch over you and your Mom on your traveling.
Safe trip.

hiker-so sorry to hear about your neighbor. He sounds like a really nice guy and values your friendship.

Washed and changed sheets on bed.

Put dye in my hair. Gave dog a bath. Then I showered the dye out and it looks pretty natural, that is, different streaks of color through out. I have dirty blond hair.

Started veg beef soup yesterday. Finished cooking it today and brought over a lg container for neighbor with 1/2 loaf of Italian bread. She just called me to tell me her and her husband loved it!
(soup is my specialty, can’t burn the crockpot).

Switched my infusion to tomorrow morning. Trying to lighten my load next week.

Walked the dog.

Cleaned my sunroom and rearranged all the plants I brought in.
And my 15 year old Christmas cactus has pink flowers blooming.
They gotta be the easiest plant to take care of.

Time for tea and an apple.

Tutu--God will heal them but it may not be on this earth.

I did my balance and feet exercises.

Then we had our last women's Bible study for 1st Samuel.

We are going to meet every other week for a while just to chat and pray. Our fearless leader is really feeling the effects of her chemo treatment and deserves a break. She puts in a lot of extra time looking up resources for us. I know she wants to continue to lead, so no one has volunteered to take over. Pray her chemo treatment and whatever meds she takes for her leukemia put it back in remission.

Went grocery shopping.

After lunch I went back to the library as two more books came in. Got home and saw an email that another book I had on hold also came in. Oh well, it can wait until after Thanksgiving. These 2 books could not (you have a week to pick them up)

I didn't sleep well last night. Kept thinking about Don. So, I took a short nap this afternoon.

I forgot to defrost meat for dinner, so will have canned soup and salad.

Baking day. 38 loaves of bread and 4 packs of dinner rolls. Also tried sourdough bread again - its not rising very well. Not sure what do do with it.... add yeast or make pizza dough out of it instead?

We had a little snow overnight and it didn't melt very much. The boys were complaining its cold outside! I think the swift change from not needing a jacket during the day to freezing temps is a bit hard to adjust too.

Hubby worked at the cold cellar again today. Put up lights. Also put new lights up in the shed where the freezers are.

Gave the chickens & guineas food and water tonight. We made an opening so the little chickens can go over to the big ones and then outside if they want to. Seems like some of the big chickens are so bossy and pull feathers of the little ones. Reminds me of children pulling hair!

Hoping to wrap up our Christmas box tonight. We like to wrap it so you can open it without tearing the paper off.

Tomorrow 2 of my nephews are coming for the weekend. The boys are planning to have a good time!

Sonny was fixing a 4 wheeler today. He brought two of the tires in to check for air leaks. Put them in the shower and sprayed soapy water on them to see where it bubbles. Big brother is grumbling because little brother didn't clean the shower. Boys! lol

Got my dress cut last night and most of it sewed together. Hoping to finish it tomorrow. I'm too tired tonight!

Busy day for me too. Up early and dealing right off the bat with the hospital in Atlanta. Phone appointment tomorrow with pre-procedure instructions for Wednesday.

Took out Christmas Club funds and deposited a check at the bank.

Stopped at Mom's cardiologist with a copy of the EGD procedure and wrote him a note about upcoming biopsy to get the OK to take her off her blood thinner until the first week in December.

Then off to pick up her RX at Ft Benning.

Home to drain hoses and tackle the problem hose, which finall came off with WD40 and channel lock pliers. Insulated the spigots with styrofoam covers.

Later picked up Mom's bestie and off we went for the Ft Benning International Wives Club dinner at the Mexican restaurant. We had a blast!

Now the plan is to read and relax.

Night gang!

AK—I have never thought about insulating my outdoor spigots with Styrofoam covers. Is that something you buy or you just made yourself?

11/18

I slept in a bit. Rode the exercise bike for a 5 minute warmup and then did my knee and feet exercises.

Did odd chores around the house--watered plants, cleaned a few areas etc.

After lunch I rode the exercise bike for 10 more minutes.

Talked to my mom for almost an hour.

Went to the chiropractor. Now it is time for Friday evening relaxation. Gluten free pizza and tossed salad and then a book or a movie.

It's a good night to grab a blanket and be a couch potato. Very chilly and windy out, but only flurries today.

Snowed all day. Didn't know we were supposed to get snow. Didn't lay on our road until late afternoon.

Took the boys an hour and a half longer than usual to get home from work. Lots of cars going slow. Heard reports of black ice. They did slide a bit but made it home safely. Daughter got home safe also. Took her an hour longer to get home.

Its not that much snow. The temps dropped so much and things froze up.

Hubby and one of the nephews put up a temporary set of shelves in the cold cellar. We put 6 crates of jars out, of mostly older fruits. Just in case it gets too cold. Don't want to waste any of the best food.

Reorganized the jars still in the house.

Sorted through my garden seeds for next year. Figured out what I need to order. Peas, beans and spinach & lettuce.

Its 24* outside now. Our bedroom is going to be cold tonight! I need to go dig out a few more blankets for our bed.

Supper was bbq chicken thighs baked in the oven, cubed potatoes and peas. For dessert the whoopie pies that came back from the store that hadn't sold.

Sonny is quite pleased with the amount of whoopie pies he sells. He almost gets as much for them as he gets from his day job.

Hiker I buy the covers from the hardware store, Lowe's or Home Depot.

Manna I don't miss black ice at all! When I lived in AK my last car was a Ford F150 4x4 four on the floor. Even with studded tires I always slid a bit at one stop sign near my old apartment.

I rested today and just made soup and sandwiches for lunch for me and Mom.

Took a pizza to Josh's and we went out to listen to one of our favorite rock bands tonight. I danced around with a friend of mine who was there with her hubby. I'm sore already! My neck and hip are mad at me! When will I learn that I'm not a spring chicken anymore?

Anyways we had fun and I'm ready to read the newest book I downloaded.

Night everyone!

Made brunch and cleaned up then washed veggies for the curry my Mom made for tonight.

Ran and got a couple things from the grocery store. A pound of butter for $4.88! Yikes! Also rented 2 movies, an action movie for me and Josh to watch tonight and an animated movie, Encanto for me and Mom tomorrow.

All I have to do is wash dishes tonight and veg with Josh. Yay!

See you all tomorrow!

AK--Sounds like a great day. What action movie did you get?

Manna--It is downright chilly here with wind chill going down near zero tonight. But at least no accumulating snow.

I ran a load of laundry. Have a lot of it on the drying rack in the basement.

Did my balance exercises and feet exercises.

Made a healthy lunch of salmon, asparagus and baked sweet potato.

Rode the exercise bike for 12 minutes. I have to listen to music while I pedal or I would be so bored.

Watched a valiant effort from my Illini football team as they lost to undefeated Michigan.

Then took a snooze in my recliner.

Not sure what I am having for dinner. Guess I could go to AK's for vegetables and curry and then to Manna's for a dessert of whoopie pies!

Will probably watch a Hallmark Christmas movie. I have been recording the new ones and have a lot to choose from.
