And here we go with an another week of exercise.
I love how we encourage each other to get up and move or encourage each other in life’s daily struggles.
So, this week, maybe you will be out walking, going to the gym, doing physical therapy, running errands, cleaning the house, doing laundry, cooking etc.
We would love to hear about your exercise or just tell us about your day.
Have a joy filled week!

Thanks Hiker for keeping us going and motivated.
Doing our PT's and thanks to this thread I added 3 sets of 12 of bicep curls and tricep extensions with 3 lb weights.
Busy day today. Cut Mom's hair and got the shower ready for her. She still didn't eat much so I made hamburger milk gravy to go on potato bread for dinner tonight.
Did 2 loads of laundry, picked up RXs, groceries, pillows that hold your tablet (bought 3 from Ollie's for $5.99 each). Mom loves hers and I'm sure Josh and I will like them too.
TuTu thank you for the encouragement!
My Mom is sleeping quite a bit and a friend said that she'll get used to the increase in dosage and will be up more.
I've got some down time right now so I'm being a couch potato!
See you guys tomorrow!

I watched our church service online.
Did a load of laundry.
Rode the exercise bike for 32 minutes.
Chatted with mom. Then chatted with my brother.
My BFF came over and we gabbed for a long time.
Leftovers for dinner tonight and then will settle in to read.
Way to go on the arm exercises, AK. Hope you aren’t sore tomorrow. I may have to look into those tablet pillows. What kind of tablets do you and your mom have?
Lymetoo, now that you have your sewing machine out, what do you plan to sew? You and Manna could have sew-a-thons.

Odds and ends type of day.
Warmed up on the exercise bike for 5 minutes before doing knee and feet exercises. The later rode the exercise bike for another 25 minutes.
Went to the public library to return books and get 4 more books. I finished their winter reading program, so they gave me a soup mug with a lid.
Went to recycling.
Talked to my mom. Then chatted with a friend for quite awhile.
Baked a chicken breast and made cranberry sauce, so I can have that for dinner. Need to steam a vegetable, too.
Took the garbage bin to the curb.

Hiker .. I have to first get motivated. LOL. Ladies at our church are working on the material our dear departed friend left behind. She used to make dresses for the shoeboxes. She passed away in October.
So I will probably start on those first. We already have about 15 dresses done! They are T-shirt dresses, so very quick and easy.
I just have to get motivated to thread the machine. I've never used this one before. lol
So .. today I thought I had speech therapy .. via the phone, but it was a holiday. (duh)
I went to the Rec Plex and walked 1/2 mile, went to two stores and a pharmacy ...then back home.
I may be meeting my friend C .. She took the kids swimming at an indoor swimming/play center here. We are meeting for dessert or something after they eat. (just to meet up)
I'm about to fall asleep, so they better hurry up. She sent me a pic a few minutes ago and they were still swimming.
I need to work on my Bible study. It's a long one this week. We are studying the Minor Prophets.

We did our PT exercises and I just finally finished the 3 sets of 12 curls and extensions and also I do standing right elbow to left knee then left elbow to right knee all with 3 lb weights.
I usually try to work out in the mornings but will have to break up my routines and squeeze in more exercises through out the day.
Mom was up a bit more today and she was crocheting away. My brother stopped by and a friend of mine dropped off some homemade soup.
Smoothies for breakfast and a slice of pizza for lunch and the soup and half a sandwich for dinner.
Ran errands this morning and had a much needed talk with another friend this afternoon.
Garbage is at the curb and getting ready to call it a night.

I did my balance and feet exercises this morning.
Went grocery shopping.
I have muscle spasms in my upper back. Never had that before. So, got into the chiropractor this morning. Still have the spasms, though.
I figure the spasms are either due to sleeping in a weird position, my beloved living room recliner or my exercise bike.
Avoiding the recliner today and skipped riding the exercise bike, too.
Took a nap this afternoon.
Leftover chicken with cranberry sauce tonight. Will steam some broccoli and make a small tossed salad.
Then reading and tv this evening.

Rain off and on this morning. Sunshine this afternoon. And a few times of wind. Could hear it roaring through the trees up on the mountain.
Got 2 letters written this morning. One to send along with a birthday card and gift for a friend.
Paid two bills that I forgot, due yesterday.
Got all the laundry washed, but not folded.
Sewed 3 of the dresses together. The 4th one needs the skirt attached to the bodice.
Ordered zippers for the dresses.
My turn to cook supper. Mashed potatoes, hamburger gravy, green beans, salad eggs, lettuce salad. For dessert I let them each have one square of my Valentine chocolates.
Fed and watered the guineas and chickens. 23 eggs today!
Want to go sew again this evening.

Hiker we have Kindles. I have a large newer one and Mom has a smaller easier to handle version.
Loving the tablet pillow!
Finished all our PT and did all my latest exercises before waking up my Mom. Also made smoothies.
SI joint PT is working wonders for both of us. Mom had no pain today so ate more and we went to visit her BFF who needed help with her serging sewing machine.
I had a guacamole, cucumber and tortilla chip salad for dinner and I made very soft rice with veggies in it for Mom.
While she was napping I ran to Home Depot to buy a much needed kitchen faucet. Now I need to call the plumber to install it and check the drippy one in the bathroom.
Our weather down here is crazy! It's going to be in the 80's and I'm not ready for the heat! I have so much to do outside and I'm just getting further behind.
My trigger thumb is to blame this time!
Hiker hope you can take something for the spasms. They can be so painful!
Manna looks like we both had hamburger gravy on the brain this week! I still have leftovers and hope we can polish it off tomorrow.
Well it's getting late and time to unwind.

Manna—the egg laying has really increased with your hens. Is that because of the sunflower seeds or are some of the chickens maturing?
AK—Weather is crazy here, too. Today I woke up to thunderstorms and it has rained hard all day. Will be in mid50’s tomorrow morning and then nosedive to 19 tomorrow night.
My back felt better today, so I warmed up on the exercise bike for 6 minutes.
Did my knee and feet exercises plus a few shoulder stretches.
Called mom.
Call her pharmacy for second day in a row. They keep texting that her prescription is ready for pickup but mom doesn’t drive and I live 70 miles from the pharmacy. They always mail her prescriptions and I can’t seem to get that across to them this time despite this being a routine for about 10 years.
Called her MD to fill her pain med. Wish she got automatic refills but I understand they don’t do that anymore. As if my 95 year old mother is going to be a drug addict. Lol
After lunch I rode the exercise bike for 20 more minutes.
Took a short nap.
Have a boneless pork chop in the oven for dinner tonight.

Hiker, more eggs from both the sunflower seeds and more of the chickens maturing. We were only getting 3-5 eggs a day when we should have been getting nearly a dozen.
Folded several loads of wash today, put most of it away. Still have 3 loads to fold.
Sewed the dresses the rest of the day. Have 11 ready to attach the skirts to the bodices. Have the first one pinned together and the call came for supper!
Spaghetti and garlic knots and ice cream for dessert.
I'm going to go sew some more, then weigh out the flour for baking day tomorrow.

Spaghetti sounds so good Manna!
Have the same RX issue down here Hiker. We can't fill any pain meds at Ft Benning because they put a cap on them which is ridiculous!
Did all PT and exercises and picked up meds and yarn for Mom. She wants to crochet hats and donate them to the infusion center. I also vacuumed the car.
Mom had leftovers for dinner and I had a can of soup and a repeat of yesterday's salad.
Hoping plumber can make it out tomorrow.
Night gang!

Brr. Cold and windy here now with temperatures dropping to 19 degrees tonight. Started the morning at 54 degrees.
I did my balance and feet exercises this morning.
Made a meatloaf and froze most of it.
Wahed the flannel sheets and remade the bed.
After lunch I rode the exercise bike for 15 minutes.
Made an appointment to look at carpet for my guest bedroom tomorrow morning. The store representative mentioned I taught her son in my science class some years back. If memory serves me correctly, he wasn't exactly a compliant student. Lol
Leftovers for dinner tonight. Then watching Illini basketball. They are without their best player so a win may not be in the cards.

I love meatloaf but I don't think my Mom is a fan. I don't make to many things that she doesn't like.
We did our PTs and exercises for the day. The plumber installed our new kitchen faucet and I just love it! Afterwards had a lot of errands and didn't get home til 7:30.
I grabbed a slice of pizza at Sam's and picked up wings for Mom. She's not eating enough and is losing some weigbt.
I think her medicine is too strong now. She was pantomiming sewing in her sleep. It freaked me out so I woke her up and she said she's dreaming about sewing dresses.
Tomorrow I have to pick up more meds for her and get a head start on the beef stew I'm making for Saturday.
I invited a friend for dinner and we're supposed to go out to listen to a live band later. Josh is still sick so I'm dropping off some stew.
I don't feel comfortable leaving my Mom by herself and will make it an early evening.
I need to unwind a bit. Tad stressed and been praying for strength and patience.

Manna .. I wish I could have a chicken on my condo balcony. LOL.
AK .. Hang in there. It's so hard to go through what you are going through. Be sure your mom drinks plenty of fluids. Much love to you!
hiker .. that's so crazy about the prescriptions for your mom!
I did the usual exercises Tuesday and Thursday. (today)
Cut the laps short because I needed to get on the road to a nearby city for our OCC meeting. We had a "fiesta" taco luncheon. We were celebrating this past year's shoebox totals.
We were down a few, but we were up by 15% last year .. so we are good.
It was a good meeting and we had fun. The food was good too.
See you guys tomorrow!

AK--Sorry Josh is still sick. Will keep praying for all of you!
Tutu--Taco luncheon sounds great.
I started my day dealing with mom's pharmacy again. They said they do not have a credit card on file, so could not mail her meds, but I was on her online account and it showed her card and my card on file. Guy was really rude and told me to call 1-800 number and hung up on me. Called the number and they could see the credit cards.
Called the local pharmacy back. Manager was still rude and then said my mom was always rude. I flipped out on him since mom is 95 and has some dementia. He told me to find another pharmacy and that I was wasting his time.
Reported him to customer service.
So, I called the retirement center and set up a ride for mom to go get her meds. She got there and lo and behold they charged a credit card that they had on file. I am so mad! (Of course, they charged my card and not hers which is the default, but that is okay). Sadly, I have to deal with this guy every month as they are the only pharmacy in her town that will mail her medications.
Then, I went to look at carpet for the guest bedroom. Picked out one right away and it is on sale. Gal will come measure next week and give me all the costs based on room size and amount of furniture to move etc. She was very nice and I may decide to recarpet my office depending on the price.
I rode the exercise bike for a 6 minute warmup and then did my knee and feet exercises plus my shoulder stretches. I exceeded my 100 minute per week goal for the bike riding.
Treated myself to a bagel with cream cheese and a cup of decaf coffee at the local "hole in the wall" donut shop. Sat there and read for a while.
Called mom to make sure she really did get her prescription and chatted for some time.
Tossed salad and a small gluten free pizza tonight.

Picturing a chicken on the balcony made me chuckle and I'm down for a taco luncheon too!
I have been struggling not to buy bagels. Mom would probably eat half and that'd leave the whole pack for me! Might have to go out for a bagel too.
Today has been very hectic. I'm so glad I made the stew last night.
My Mom has a colostemy bag and it leaked on her and the bed. She never woke up to go to the bathroom. I'll set an additional alarm to wake her up in the night.
She was so embarrassed but I told her not to worry that I had worked at an adult daycare in AK and had to shower and change some of the clients.
Took me quite awhile to clean the clothes and bedding.
Glad my friend is stopping by for dinner and hoping I can still go out for a bit tonight.
Anyways, before I forget I did all my exercises and PT before waking up Mom. We'll do our evening PT before I leave.
See you guys tomorrow!

AK--Enjoy your friend's visit and I hope you can go out a bit tonight.
I did my balance exercises this morning.
Then did a load of laundry.
Had my usual baked salmon, potato and asparagus for Saturday main meal.
A friend stopped by briefly. She is taking the new litter box that I bought for the cat I don't have anymore.
Then I took a very long nap. Hope I can sleep tonight.
Watched my Beth Moore Christian video for the week and read a bit.
May watch some TV tonight.
