Welcome again to the exercise thread!

Let's keep up the movement as best we can and encourage each other to exercise. [woohoo]

I know with the heat it is hard to do a lot outside, so please be careful. But let us know if you are swimming, walking, doing yard work, doing physical therapy, cleaning etc.

Or just tell us about your day!

Have a great week! [hi]

Toxic again today but not as bad as last week.

Watched my church service online.

Ran a load of laundry.

Rode the exercise bike 30 minutes trying to get toxins out.

Called mom. Then chatted with my brother. We agreed to send mom flowers for her 96th birthday which is August 4.

Chatted with my neighbor who brought over mail that was delivered to him by mistake. It was my license plate sticker and I am so glad it went to him and not someone else. So, put that on the car. Always have to take off the frame around the plate but easy task.

Am reading an excellent book called “Brave the Wild River.” It is about two women botanists in 1938 who were the first women to run the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon and catalog the plant life there. Fascinating.

Leftovers for dinner and probably watch another movie. I have so many recorded.

Hiker thanks for keeping us motivated! Wow 96 is amazing! Interesting book there too.

Took Josh and his dog Ada home today. All by myself for the first time since my Mom passed. Had to keep busy when I got home for a few hours.

I terminated my plumber via text and am going to call someone my Mom's BFF used for the same issue I have. Her washer backed up into her kitchen sink and they snaked the drainage system for far less than what my plumber was going to charge and said I needed.

2 rounds of shoulder PT and shuffled around the house trying to stay busy doing this and that. I was pretty disorganized....sigh....

Busy day tomorrow so medicated and waiting for sleep to kick in.

Night all!

AK—Hope you get a good plumber and get the issue resolved. Josh may be seeing you for laundry soon!

Watered the flowers.

Went for a short walk and rode the exercise bike. Combined for 30 minutes.

Did my knee, feet, and shoulder exercises.

Made chicken salad for lunch and after it was made I looked at the Mayo jar and it was long expired. So, threw out my delicious salad. Don’t want salmonella.

Called mom.

Went to library. Then to recycling.

Am grilling organic venison burgers for dinner. The ground venison was on sale and I haven’t had venison in years.

Then dragging garbage bin to curb. I am exhausted. Overdid it today.

Have a good evening. [Smile]

Baking day. 30 loaves of bread.

Washed several loads of laundry and hung them out. Had to put it in the dryer to finish drying it.

Hard boiled some eggs for red beet eggs.

Gathered the eggs and fed the chickens and chicks.

Checked the corn - had corn on the cob for supper! Also cucumder salad, buttered yellow beets and ham salad.

Hubby and the boys graded a swale for water run off. We'll need more grass seed to cover that whole area.

In the 90’s today so I didn’t do much outside except water the flowers. Manna—the wet laundry would dry quickly here. Going to hit 99 by Friday.

Did my balance exercises and shoulder exercises and rode the exercise bike 20 minutes.

The balance therapist has set the goals for me and she wants me to be able to stand up from a chair without use of arms 12 times in 30 seconds as one goal. I managed 9 last Friday and 11 today and it made my legs scream. My hip extensors and hamstrings are weak and she set a bunch of other goals. I have my work cut out for me.

I got a call from my new doctor’s office that she is out for the rest of the year. She is pregnant and I bet she got put on bed rest.

Because I have never seen her although she ordered my last round of blood tests they suggested I see a new doctor that is coming in October. The appointments for her will open up in a month but I probably need to follow up on my low sodium before October. [Eek!]

I am torn with waiting for the doctor I had signed on with because I hear she is excellent but maybe this new doctor will be fine, too. In most clinics around here they don’t like you jumping from MD to MD. Only get one change and then you are asked to leave.

Have had a sinus headache now for about 10 days. Don’t know if it is allergies or an infection. And I would refuse antibiotics anyway as they just make me sick to my stomach.

Rested in the recliner for awhile this afternoon and then read.

Leftovers for dinner.

I still have lots of old movies to watch. Maybe watch one tonight.

Haven’t posted here because I was unable to exercise due to chronic strep but I’m feeling much better.

Went to outdoor concert yesterday but the rain clouds were approaching. People were leaving but I stayed positive saying they would blow over. Officials suspended the bands until the rains passed so me and my girlfriend sat on the sidewalk and played YouTube videos and were singing having a blast.

They cancelled the bands and the sun came out ☹️

Went back to my house and went swimming. The pool was bath water! After we ate chicken Alfredo with broccoli. We always have a blast, love her company.

This morning my girlfriend from out of town came over for lunch and we had such a nice visit. We sat on the porch and talked and talked and talked, ect.

Most of my friends have chronic or autoimmune illnesses, we all struggle. But I have a much broader expertise in research thanks to Lyme and company. It’s the only positive that has come from such a horrific infection.

I added swimming to my mornings. It’s breathtaking in cooler temps and it instantly clears my brain fog. I feel like a new person. My biceps have guns, lol.

I also added Breathe Right nasal strips due to my sleep apnea.
Incredible, they work! But my cat nibbled on my forehead @ 3:30 am to feed her, ugh, she has food issues and today I put her on a strict diet.

Reading Billy Crystal’s bio and it is hysterical. I can’t stop laughing.
Also reading The Palace Papers by Tina Brown. It’s a big book about the monarchy.

As I’m typing this, my cat is sitting 2 inches away STARING STRAIGHT at me to feed her. Diet isn’t going to be easy, lol.

Pets can do that BB. They lay on the guilt trip!

Manna your dinner sounds delicious! I had leftover canned chili for dinner...sigh...

Hiker I think you have me beat with that temperature! It's hot down here but feels good for my aches and pains.

Was on my feet most of the day going through kitchen stuff and throwing out more old, old food. My Mom had way too much stuff in this small house. I just did the drawers and didn't get to the cabinets yet.

Did PT 3 times today and pretty wore out and ready to watch some TV.

Stay cool friends!

Got things done today, but very little on my written down list of things to do.........

Picked the beans, the yellow and green beans are done producing. They are very buggy, so we will pull them out. Should give some to the chickens so they can eat the bugs.

Still have one more picking of the roma beans and the ploe beans are just getting started.

Moved the chicken fence so they have fresh grass again.

Used baler twine and wove patches to cover the holes in the garden fence. Its a plastic mesh and something ran through it a couple places.

The deer have been nibbling at the beans and sweet potatoes. And the guineas are eating the green tomatoes!! None have ripened yet!

Picked red beets and cooked them for pickled beets.

Picked some yellow beets to freeze.

Want to wash pickles and start another batch of 7 Day pickles. Have a few whoppers that should be used for relish- I think I'll try a dill relish this time.

I'm tired tonight.

Manna—you must have a long list because you sure got a lot done!

AK-kudos to you for decluttering. Takes a long time.

Bonnie, I am so impressed with all of your swimming. And I am glad you could enjoy friends. Got a chuckle out of your cat comments.

Went grocery shopping this morning.

It rained about 10 drops and then just got windy, hot, and steamy.

I did my knee, shoulder, and feet exercises. Rode the exercise bike 15 minutes.

Got a new 60 day devotional about Hope and read day one along with my usual devotional and National Cathedral morning prayer service.

Called mom.

Took a nap.

Reading a sad but true story about the Bataan Death March of WWII. I tend to voice from genre to genre in my reading.

Have a good evening! [Smile]

Went to Home Depot and Goodwill early this morning and also bought breakfast. Once fueled up headed outside and worked about 2 hours.

Pulled and cut some vines off the fence, trimmed bushes, raked, emptied out long rectangular flower pot dirt onto bare spots in the front yard and pulled some weeds.

Showered then met Josh for lunch and my friend came by with dinner tonight.

I am exhausted and sore. It's late and Josh left not to long ago. Yes, we watched another scary movie.

Definitely time to unwind.

[sleepy]

Watered the flowers and by 10 it was already 90 and humid. It’s 95 now is with a feel like temp of 105. AK, you are probably used to this.

Did my balance exercises. Then did my feet exercises.

Made a meatloaf and froze most of it.

Had a lazy afternoon of reading and working my cryptogram puzzles.

Leftovers for dinner. Pork chop with tossed spinach salad, yellow squash and strawberries.

See ya tomorrow. 😀

Manna .. you are so busy!!

AK .. good job on cleaning out stuff. I need to go through my canned foods again. I like to donate before their expiration date, for sure. I guess it's time to get rid of clothes too. Sigh.

Hiker .. That's frustrating about your doctor situation. Maybe for now you could go to urgent care?

I was at a show once and sat next to a man who had been IN THE BATTAN DEATH MARCH. He gave me his business card. I thanked him for his service. He told me he was in constant pain (from the beatings).

About 5-6 years later I found his card and wondered if he was still alive. Well, he had passed away, but reading his obituary was something else. Look up the name Frank Muther sometime. A man I'll never forget.

We got to visit with friends yesterday that we have not seen in more than 15 years. He used to be in a show my husband was in, and his wife used to help me make angels.

He went to LA because he's such a talented player (woodwinds). Had gigs out there and also did computer programming, which he taught himself while living here.

Before they moved to Florida last year, he was asked to perform with Elton John at the Oscars. (2022) They left due to the intensely negative culture out there. They have a 13 year old daughter. Now they live on an island near Daytona Beach. He works for Amazon, but will likely change companies soon because they will try to make him move to Seattle. Not happening!

We really enjoyed that visit! We hope to go see them one day. My friend "C" here just got back from Daytona Beach (LOL) and Orlando.

I hope to take a walk this evening, but my weather is like hiker's. Thankfully, the humidity is lower than usual, so it might work out.

Yesterday my girlfriend from out of town decided to stay an extra day so I thawed out 2 porterhouse steaks and shucked corn. We did exercises in the pool together. She concentrated on leg exercises due to vascular issues.

She said the pool water felt marvelous.
She said I looked marvelous! I bust out laughing because I’m reading Billy Crystal’ bio and he is known for saying “You Look Marvelous!”

This morning had my monthly ivig with another different nurse.
This woman had mad skills, the BEST iv nurse ever!

First, absolutely no pain.
Second, she placed the needle just above the bend in my elbow.
I’m known for bending my arm while I talk, which sets the machine bell off and machine needs to be reset and I apologize. Bell didn’t go off once today.
Third, she got every drop of medication out of bottles by slowly lowering the tip of needle that is going into the bottle as the medication drains down.
Forth, she hung garbage bag on iv poll so no contamination handling empties.

Genius!

I made steak and cheese quesadillas again with my leftover steak with homemade French fries. I wanted to eat on front porch while reading my book but the bees came out from nowhere. I ate in front of tv.

Unfortunately I was to tired from infusion to get in pool today, tomorrow is another day. 😀

Went to PT today and he increased the band resistance to red and now I'm doing pushups against the counter. He also talked me into participating in their program called 5 Weeks to Fitness. They're Mondays 10:30-12:00.

He's doing the exercise portion, a psychologist is doing the sleep part, I'm not sure who's teaching nutrition and the one I'm looking forward to is grow your vegetables.

I vacuumed the house and finally washed the bedding. Had a new plumber come out on Monday and he snaked the drain so everything's working thank God.

Hung bedding outside but my last batch got rained on so had to use the dryer a bit.

Put another load of Mom's household items in the trunk and dropped them off at Goodwill.

Also picked up a few groceries.

Night gang!

Did my morning devotions and then went to balance therapy.

I always work hard at therapy but my ear pressure was through the roof today and all the head turning etc. drove me crazy. We did work on hip adductors and abductors for more strength, too. Very weak there. I have a lot to improve upon.

But at least the clinic, like my house is air conditioned. [Big Grin] Another hot steamy day. Got a rain tease early AM with some thunder and lightning but not much rain.

Called mom.

Talked a long time with my Florida friend that I went to college with. We were racquetball buddies back in those times. Then worked together at the Park District in the summer teaching tball to young kids. Wish we lived closer.

Read a little bit.

Just ordered a gluten free pizza and will head to pick it up soon.

AK—thinking of you today as you interred your mom’s ashes. [group hug]

Wow it was a HOT one today 🌞

Talked to neighbors on each side of me in the morning while I was walking the dog and they were watering their flowers. Didn’t see them the rest of the day, they were hibernating inside with the AC on most definitely.

Spent 3 hours total in pool with breaks.
When I swim alone I have special precautions.
Always have phone within reach on pool deck.
Neighbors and friends know I’m swimming when my umbrellas on the pool deck are open.
I also always tell someone I’m going swimming.

I ultimately ended up doing 75 laps! That’s a record.
I’m very relaxed.

When I’m solitary swimming on my back, I reflect on blessings.
I stare into the sky and thank my Guardian Angel for keeping me on this most beautiful planet amongst all the things I love. This is my most healthy time and I treasure every moment as it’s my last. ❤️

My sister was in town and dropped off a HUGE goody bag of pasta salad, lettuce salad, watermelon, strawberry crème pie, dog snacks, beach towel and blow up water raft. My eyes popped out of my head.

WHAT A GREAT DAY I HAD!!!!!!
Hope you had a great day too! You deserve it!

Thank you Hiker for thinking of me today. We all met at the gate to Ft. Moore then once getting admitted we met at the cemetery office.

We walked from there to the 3 foot deep hole at the foot of my Dad's grave. There the cemetery staff placed my Mom's urn. I bought 2 red roses, one for me and my brother. After placing our roses along side the urn we shoveled some dirt into the hole.

It was just me, Josh, my Mom's BFF, my brother, his son and youngest daughter.

My Mom and Dad are now resting in peace together and it makes my heart feel a bit lighter.

Spent the day with Josh and his dog Ada. Met my Mom's BFF and a friend of mine for dinner with Josh.

Hiker I'm hoping the 5 weeks to fitness program will help whip me into shape for my AK trip. I need all the help I can get! I need to work on my arms and heck...the rest of me too! Hope we both will get stronger!

BB always good to let people know your plans. Better a safety net than none. 75 laps is amazing! God bless your sister for her kindness!

Tomorrow I'm either going on a road trip with my friend to see about student housing or we're going to gardens to view butterflies and flowers. Either way is a winner! Glad to get out a bit.

Sleep well my friends!

Bonnie, your day sure sounds wonderful. My BFF and I always text each other if one is going to walk alone at a park and text when we get back again. Good plan you have.

We actually got rain last night and I didn’t need to water the flowers. Hurrah!

Ran a load of laundry.

Did my balance exercises. Then worked on my hip extensors, abductors and adductors. Practiced sit to stand. Oh my, my legs sure feel it.

Went to the grocery to buy out their stock of incandescent 200 watt and 3 way bulbs. I hate the LED bulbs. Next week the rules change and most incandescent bulbs won’t be able to be sold. That makes me mad. [cussing]

Then spent time reading.

Meatloaf for dinner and then probably finish my book and watch another classic movie.

Had a sunny day. Quite warm. Hubby and the boys took down 3 trees today. Sawed some up in firewood. Saved a few pieces for the sawmill and chipped up the rest.

I folded wash and put it away. Did a few loads of laundry.

Picked over the beans one last time. Only got about a household bucket full.

Picked 2 dozen ears of corn. The first zucchini was ready!

Pulled weeds in the sweet pepper row and the egg plants & okra right next to them.

After they were done with the trees, they went in the pond to cool off. I stood at the edge and cooled my feet.

Daughter was working at housecleaning the kitchen.

Supper is in the oven, potatoes and beans from the garden and chicken in a sauce. Daughter made it, so I'm not sure what is in it, but it sure smells yummy!

While its baking, they decided to quick run out to the store for more floaty pool toys for the pond. Some of ours are old and leaky.

Hiker, good to hear you finally got some rain. It rained here too. Had several thunderstorms go through. None were bad.

Time to go out and feed the chickens & gather the eggs.

4 hour road trip there and back to check student housing with my friend. Shopped at a huge antique mall in Macon GA while there. We browsed for a couple hours but they had no AC! Thank God for fans but even then it was sticky hot there.

Ate a late lunch at a great Mexican restaurant.

Once home vegged and talked with my AK BFF and worked on my trip plans with her.

Watched a documentary on the actress Hedy Lamarr and now getting ready to hit the hay. Going to Josh's tomorrow to iron a bunch of his work clothes.

Hiker we do the texting and calling too for safety especially living alone.

Manna all the fresh veggies sound wonderful! Sure could have used a dip in the pond this afternoon too!

2 rounds of PT and alot of walking today for exercise.

Night friends!

[group hug]
