I was just now reading more of the Patriot Act and ran into this:

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/cpquery/?&dbname=cp109&sid=cp109lxkwK&refer=&r_n=hr333.109&item=&sel=TOC_208072&

Looks like we will have our own version of the SS.

Here's an article about it that I found:
http://www.counterpunch.org/roberts01242006.html

For you guys that consider yourself, conservative, or right wing, the article is by, Paul Craig Roberts, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration.

teques,

doesn't this alleviate your concern about the violations of Posse Comitatus?

No, lymedad. Do you want the Secret Service acting in the role as a National Police Force?

Now, what a minute... Conservatives used to believe that the Federal Government had taken way too much control away from the states and the people. Why are you wanting to put more and more under them?

Yes, the situation is very nearly out of control! Where are the protestors? My theory: too many of them are on the net yelling their outrage to each other, instead of on the street yelling their outrage-- but no; even out there on the street, unless much greater numbers get involved in an actual way, the paid criminal thugs (who used to be called "the police force", and are SUPPOSED to function to protect our freedom) just throw the dissenters in jail. And the, um, ...'news' (yeah right..-so much for the guarantee of freedom of the press!.) that comes out of the corporate dictatorship-controlled mouthpieces just trumpets, "violent protestors arrested and pepper- sprayed" (i.e., assaulted-do you guys know what it's like? it can cause permanet damage, and is even more painful than being hit by a nightstick!!!), etc.--In reality the main reason for their detention was to deprive them of their right to free speech. (on occasion they have been forcibly ...'removed'.... to "free speech zones' where nobody can see them-- that's NOT what the founders of the United States of America had in mind when they guaranteed freedom of speech, folks!)

This ...'patriot act' is REALLY a TRAITOR PROTECTION ACT!
What do you think Paul Revere and those guys would have done? Would they have swallowed it "lock, stock and barrel" as they played video games and ...'watched'... fox news?
Here's a site worth reading:
(click "Here" in the line above)

The address of the site is: http://www.ratical.org/ratville/CAH/USAPA2.html , in case some 'puters can't get it by clicking)

(So just like anything the net CAN have a positive effect, if we use our hearts and our brains to break out of the shell of ignorance we have let these criminals construct around, these hearts and minds, and put our human spirit into action.)
