While riding in the limo to the cemetary today, my nephew got to tell a story about his recent trip to NYC with his fiancee.
They were standing at an ice cream vendor by Central Park. He bought two cones and was trying to give it to his fiancee. She wasn't hungry for it, so he kept waving it front of her face saying, "Lutenant Dan, ice cream" (Forrest Gump).
They started walking down the sidewalk when a runner came up behind him. My nephew was tapped on the shoulder and found a sweaty Tom Hanks. He introduced himself as "Tom" and told my nephew that he hadn't heard that line in that context before. He found it funny and followed him to tell him that.
My nephew said he was speechless and could only say, "Oh, My Gosh".
Tom Hanks continued his run.
They only wished they could've said, "Run, Forrest!"

Nice story. A repeat show last night of Letterman had Tom on with some very funny stuff about his dogs and skunks.
I can't imagine my ever refusing an ice cream cone waved in my face !
