The Canadian Parliament, scheduled to return January 25, has been told not to return til March.

All the laws in process will be lost and the reason given is to prepare for something. I forget what it was.

The timing coincides with the Olympics being held in Canada in February.

I know - they all do winter sports and qualified for the events!

While there, ice suppose they could pass legiskition, deal with a legal backlog de-luge,

race through any slippery issues, and be on the b-rink of jumping to slalomly announce

that they are ready to put Sk8ter in charge of getting pinkpixiedust's skaters book into every bookstore in the land.

I wonder who has the power to tell the equivalent of the US Congress not to report for work in Canada, or anywhere else.

And I fear what the reasons could be.

I'm glad this is off-topic. Means I can be off-base here and that's ok.

Lymetoo, what? The US Congress is joining the Olympics too? Well, they've been dealing with slippery slope issues and icy public reception for a while.

And I don't think there will be any decisions coming in time about healthcare coverage for the athletes.

Maybe if all lawmakers got some fresh air and exercise - and even some rest - they'd be able to start over and think more clearly.

Lymetoo

I meant the US Congress is the equivalent of the Canadian Parliament.

Sorry for any confusion.
