It's gotta be one of my all time favorite shows. Leslie is hilarious and reminds me of the pre-Lyme me that was really uptight.

Leslie is played by Amy Poehler who used to be on Saturday Night Live.

Here is something I got off a fan site. It is from the episode called "Practice Date" where Ann takes Leslie on a practice date because she is nervous.

"Leslie: What if he shows up with another woman? What if one of my sleeves catches on fire and it spreads rapidly. What if instead of tic tacs I accidentally pop a couple of Ambien and I have to keep punching my leg to stay awake?

Ann: Those are all insane hypotheticals and I promise you they won't happen.

Leslie: They have happened. All of these have happened to me. Uh, no, there's more. One time I accidentally drank an entire bottle of vinegar. I thought it was terrible wine. Once I went out with a guy who wore 3-D glasses the entire evening. Oh, one time I rode in a sidecar on a guy's motorcycle, and the sidecar detached and went down a flight of stairs. Another time I went to a really boring movie with a guy and while I was alseep he tried to pull out one of my teeth. I literaly woke up with his hand in my mouth. We went out a couple times after that but then he got weird."

It's all said very fast and kind of monotone. Not really as funny if you don't watch the show.

Don't even get me started on the Ron Swanson character, who has a framed picture of breakfast on the wall in his office since he loves breakfast so much.

"Leslie: I want to be president someday, so I have not smoked marijuana. I ate a brownie once. At a party in college. It was kind of indescribable really. I felt like I was floating. It turns out that there wasn't any marijuana in it, it was just an insanely good brownie."

You would have to know the character Leslie, she is really uptight and just says anything that comes to her mind really fast.

"Leslie: I am so sick of moving like a slug. I want to move like a cheetah. Or a slug driving a remote controlled car. Something more plausible than that. But fast."

I love that show!! She is hilarious!

These quotes are so funny. I only remeber seeing the one about the brownie. I was laughing to myself about it days later, when my mom asked what was so funny. I asked her if she ever watched Parks and Recreation. She said "I love that show!!"

She first saw it on an airplane.

I am so glad I found not one, but two other people who love that show!

It has slowly become my favorite out of all those NBC shows.

Cordor, I used to live in Indiana, and I think they also nailed the atmosphere of what it is like there.

carly, I have found myself doing the same thing....laughing about an episode days later. When Leslie started going off about the Ambien and the tic tacs, I laughed for so long that my friends were starting to get worried I wouldn't stop! I just felt like I could relate to it, but it was also just soooo ridiculous. [Smile]
