I am wondering if anyone knows of a great online company that sells flower seeds and tree seedlings?
I need seeds and trees that are for zone 2, 3 and 4.
I have been searching and can't find any thing.
I don't live in the States , so I need a company that sends seeds to other countries.
Thanks.

- You can't get seeds where you live? That has my interest piqued. A total desert country? Antarctica?
Holland sells tons of tulips bulbs to be shipped all over the world. I recall the most beautiful Discovery or PBS program about that a year or so ago.
I wonder if, through international travel, customs has any kind of irradiation requirements for agricultural matter in order to control plant disease. You might want to check on that so that whatever you might by for shipping would not be zapped along the way.
Your Customs Office may have a set of guidelines - and maybe even suggestions for vendors for what you want.
Curious, I took a look and there are some leads here:
Google search: "International shipping" seedlings, seeds "Customs regulations" -

Thanks, you're so funny, smart and talented.
haha
I actually can only find limited types of seeds. The green houses in my region seem to have a monopoly, and sell really expensive plantings in the spring.
Yes, I figured customs would be a problem. I will keep searching.
The Holland idea is great, if not only just for research! I love bulbs! I just tortured myself this fall trying to plant 200 or so in my new garden.
Trees are probably even more of a problem, I suppose. I have bought trees for $3 each, which isn't too bad, but I was hoping to start a little hobby farm.
I don't know how to start tree seedlings on my own.
I will do more homework.
It can't be that hard.

- Oh, my. I never thought about the monopoly in flowers and trees. I know farmers are faced with harsh monopoly problems of major proportions regarding growing their own seed, etc..
I've tried to grow decorative trees from tiny seedlings and they never survive in my apt or on my deck. I found that the more established, the better chance they have.
I must say that I'm reeling from the reality of monopolies on things I had never even considered. Hope you have good luck finding some affordable beauty for yourself.

Dear missing, Try searching for a Native Plant Society near you or in your planting zone. These groups have members who are home gardeners as well as professionals.
Many Native Plant Societies host Native Plant Sales in the fall and spring as well as free or low-cost seminars. And many can provide you with a list of local growers who sell to "the public" (not just to wholesalers).
If you're in Canada, I may be able to offer a few more ideas, but am less familiar with other continents.
Does not knowingly sell GMO, local owned, and uses local small farms. Sells flowers, trees and seeds.
Did I tell I love them? Can't wait to start planning the garden.
And if they can't ship to Canada call them or email and ask them who they recommed I'm sure they'd be willing to help you out.
