Congrads,,, they always 'suspect' diabetes when the baby is so half grown.
Couple grandsons were big also, and they havent looked back, they 'feel' like a ton of bricks when you lift them!!!!
Eating is there favorite pastime!!! But they arent really fat. Mostly just solid!! Those boys are football coaches dreams.
Did I read right Merrygirl is a new mother also???

Congrats!
I think my side of the family is finished with babies, but now my husband's side of the family is just getting started! Got one great-nephew due this month!

My family is loaded with huge people. At 5' 5" I'm the runt of the litter! Many of my nephews are 6' 5" or taller. My twin sister is nearly 6', and my nieces are about that tall, too!

Good news like this is wonderful. Lymelady, congrats on being a very young great auntie.
28 great-grands for your dad? WOW! God Bless!
A 10 pounder + for sure your niece will never be the same. You guys grow them big for sure!
I've roasted chickens bigger than my kids (we're members of the 5lb club).
Merry, all the best to you with the birth of your girl in August.

AlanaSuzanne, did you know I became a great-aunt at the tender age of 21?? I have a nephew who is just 2 years younger than me, and he had his first child at age 19. His dad is my brother who just passed away. My parents ended up with 25 grandchildren, and so far, the 28 great-grands and counting.
Love that - you've roasted chickens bigger than your kids! LOL! Count on you to make me laugh out loud!
One of my sisters gave birth to an 11-pounder. A few years ago she had to have surgery to put her bladder back in place and to remove her uterus, because it had fallen out of her body! I'm wondering if my nephew's wife will one day face a similar problem!
