I'd like to get something I could stream in netflix movies through my TV.
TV is 10 years old so not sure how much longer it will last but hoping it holds out.
Funds are an issue so need to go with something that will just get the job done.
Looked on the netflix site and brain and vision were not working well enough to figure things out and havent' been able to for some time now.
also not able to figure out why I am not able to watch movies on the computer. I have downloaded whatever it said I needed to down load and I still havent' been able to get things to work.
As I am typing this...I am thinking that might be my first step.
To go back and try watching via the computer again ...which means I would need to contact tech support for netflix ...which means I need to wait until the brain is working well enough to do that

Ok something else happening here. DVD holder will not open.
The DVD player keeps coming on by itself...shutting off the reception for TV.
I tried to unplug the DVD/VCR player but didnt' have the strength to do so.
so, DVD player may not be totally gone. I just need to unstick the holder for the DVD's.
it is acting like it has one in it and won't let go of it.

Able to unplug the DVD/VCR player last night.
Thankfully, the TV is now working.
TuTu...I assume you don't rent movies to watch??
Tried to contact netflix to trouble shoot why I can't watch movies on the computer but it was a 5 min wait of music playing in my ears.
I lasted about 3 seconds...can't handle that.

TuTu...you dont' watch movies??
Able to check on line and Sony has a DVD player for $50 that has good reviews.
Wtg for brain to figure things out as what is the less expensive way to go...
streaming movies or renting movies
Red Box is a $1.00 here but haven't tried that yet...most the time I don't think the brain has what it takes to do that..
I watched a friend struggle while she was here with trying to find some movies for us to watch..
no way could i have been on my feet that long trying or figure things out...
Netflix is $8.00 I think to stream as many movies as you want via the TV
Now, I need to go back and do some research on what it cost to get the equipment to stream movies
Brain not up to that right now or gut...gut is hurting

Also saw a portable DVD player on line with a 10 inch screen.
Wondering about that...wondering if my eyes could handle it.
It would help me to be able to get outdoors more and take my mind off of lyme symptoms while I am laying out.
Glad I don't need to make a decision right away on this nor do I have the funds to do so...so just thinking via the keyboard.

Hi,Kam - I'm certainly not an electronics wizard, but I'll take a shot at some answers.
Any of the new Blueray DVD players should come already set to stream Netflix. And they are really not that expensive. I got mine for around $80.
As far as Netflix on your computer ???? You just need a Netflix membership. I think the lowest one is $8.00 per month. You should be able to get a free month trial. Once you have a membership, you just log on and pick any of the movies available on "Watch Instantly".
I really dislike Redbox. I hate running back and forth to get or return movies. Netflix all the way for me. I do both - get the dvds sent to me and sometimes watch instantly on my computer.
It's nice to know that I'm not the only one whose brain fog keeps them from dealing with tech support!

Ruby...thanks for letting me know the newer Blueray/DVD players come ready to stream netflix.
I did not know this.
I can't stream netflix on my computer due to something being wrong with the silverlight that is needed.
Which Microsoft wanted funds to see if they could fix it and a brain to help them through the process.
Better just to get a DVD player adn watch it on TV.
So, things are beginning to fall into place.
Maybe out of next month's budget i can get the DVD player
