Lisa,
I got so tired of Norton and did a bit of research about this. I found a program called Avast that I like a lot. If I recall, it's either shareware or a lot less than Norton.
I think I have it 6 months or so and it's working fine for me.
I hope one of them helps.

here are some more questions that may help to resolve and isolate a problem when trying to find someone to help you:
When did the problem occur? Has it happened before? What were you doing when it happened? Have you installed any software or hardware before the problem began? Are you up to date with all your virus and spyware protection? IS your fire wall up? What is the nature of your problem? What system are you using? What (I.E. windows 95, 98, ME, XP .. ETC..) What brand computer is it MAC, PC; Generic or Compaq, DEll?
Microsoft updates need to be done regularly for software fixes..
Always when working on computers the current version of what ever you are having a problem with and details of the problem are essential to resolving a problem.
Have you run a spyware removal utility?
These two spyware scanners are free and if you run them every week they will keep your problems to a minimum:
Adaware SE by lavasoft download here:
Click here for Adaware SE download when a window pops up click on save then save to desktop and double ckick on the icon to run once it is downloaded.
Spybot search and destroy: download here:
Is your virus scanner up to date? A free virus scanner: Avast for english home users:
IS your Microsoft windows up to date? run an update on microsoft here: Click here for Microsoft Update Page
Many times problems are a result of not updating a software program since new viruses and spyware are constantly being created to impede the function of software programs. Updates are essential to maintaining and keeping a computer functioning properly.
