I am having a heck of a time using my puter. It is always stuck. rebooting does no good,,it brings me right back where I was.

Puter is only a year old,,and had the hard drive completely replace d a couple months ago.

Using McAfee antivirus which says things are fine,firewalls up. It is an Inspiron 5305, Mozilla firefox,vista,which has worked great.

When it works it is fast,,,when it doesnt it is stuck for minutes on end. SOMETIMES I find I can unstick it by right clicking a few times before I left click,,,seems to turn something on or loose,,other times I cant even back from a page OR cancel it even. Red X at top turns dim and doesnt respond

Its getting worse,how do I fix?? It doesnt even give me restart or shut off on start menu!! only way is to turn off electricity!!
