This message sent from the Lyme Disease Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania by Harvey L. Kliman ==================================================== Now's the time to get Dr Oz on Oprah's show to cover Lyme disease and the documentary "Under Our Skin". Let's show Oprah we really care and need the national publicity her show can provide. There's a sample letter below if you don't feel up to writing one..
Go to the link below and scroll down to the reply box. If you are not registered with Oprah, you'll have to sign in or sign up to post a reply.
Oprah has not spammed me or any people I know who have signed in to urge her to get this done, so don't expect spam to be a problem.
Here's help to stand up and be counted on OPRAH - go to the link below.
Today we are up to 535 responses so we are doing way better than the toilet paper people. We have made it onto Hot Topics on Oprah's main community page http://www.oprah.com/community
However, we have many thousands of people suffering from Lyme disease, so I think we can do lots better. What about it, people? Do we want to be on Oprah or not?
It looks like they are not limiting people to 200 words. One message is over 1200 words. However long yours is, please break it up into paragraphs to make it easier to read.
If you are too ill to make up your own letter, at least post the one below and sign your name (first only if you prefer) and state. That way you will be counted! Please add your own story if you are able.
Harvey
Dear Dr. Oz, I am too sick from Lyme disease to write coherently so am using this form letter someone drafted for me, to beg you to encourage Oprah to do a show on Lyme disease. So many people are suffering -- many do not even realize they have Lyme disease because they have been misdiagnosed. The film Under Our Skin has inspired small groups of patients across America to bring it to their communities. It brings people together and is a great ice-breaker. Oprah can play an important part in stimulating communication that will eventually save peoples' lives. She can do a great public service by letting her audience know the true story about Lyme disease, the hidden epidemic. Thank you for your past support.
