Here is a copy of a letter I sent to the local PBA in Suffolk County NY. I am trying to get the strong unions on board to put the pressure on our local politicians.

Dear Sir,

My name is Kara and I am the proud daughter
of Officer Theodore --- who spent over twenty
years working in the Suffolk County Marine Bureau.
I am writing in regards to the concerns I have with
the increase in lyme disease and other tick borne
illnesses here on Long Island. I am sure you are well
aware that our wonderful officers, especially the
marine bureau unit is particularly exposed to the high
risk areas associated with your division.

Unfortunately I know first hand the devastation this
disease can take on a family and on your own body. My
father spent many years helping others and in his
retirement he is still helping me battle neurological
lyme.

I am asking you and the Suffolk County PBA to support
the Tick Management Task Force legislation and urge
County Executive Steve Levy to pass this critical
piece of legislation.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Kara
Smithtown, New York
