October 14th - 20th 2007 is International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW). IIPW is an annual event that educates health care workers, health care administrators, legislators and consumers about the importance of reducing the risk of infections.

International Infection Prevention Week is a great opportunity for Lyme infection prevention awareness. Prevention messages need to be publicized throughout the year, not just during spring and summer months.

Hospitals and public health may be concentrating their awareness efforts this week on MRSA or flu awareness. Let's make sure Lyme is not forgotten!

Have you told your story yet? Can you take the time to submit a Lyme prevention article to your media contacts on behalf of Infection Prevention week?
