Not sure everyone who could be an activist, at least occasionally, is doing so. I have the impression that a relatively small number are carrying the load.
It would be nice if 2009 brought more lyme activists into the fold.

I think it can also entail just some simple actions, like just telling people, calling an organization to let them know and see if they want to write up an alert in their newsletter, or making up a little flyer for your area and posting it, etc.
Or if you feel like it, go to your local government and testify at a public meeting and get some discussion going.
Or figure out some angle in your area you'd like to address, like signs for dog parks, or protecting kids, or garden assoc'ns, whatever your interest is.
Don't forget about May Lyme Awareness month. It's a time when newspapers/newsletters/associations like to feature the story.
It feels good to do something!
