Hello all. I had this idea to raise funds for

research. Art work auctioned on Ebay done by our

Lyme infected children. It can be a painting/

drawing/ or similar artworks. I would take pics of works/

post on ebay. I do believe Ebay has a non profit

rate. Buyer pays shipping so no problem.

Then require patient to send it to buyer. Funds

raised could be sent to patients choice of

fundraiser or where input received should think

it best sent. Paypal account set up for the fund

of choice. I do think these kids can contribute

and as an aid to help them contribute to the

research that is much needed. Or maybe they had

rather use the funds to provide for a Washington

forum? I would be more than willing

to pass this idea to a well connected Lyme site

but I am willing to do what I can. What do you think?

Hmm. I can't help with the logistics, but I'd say it's a pretty good idea.

It would probably make the kids happy- to know that they were helping other Lyme patients, and also because someone out there is willing to buy their artwork.

But you would need publicity outside of Ebay- people would probably be worried that it was a bogus charity- and you were just keeping all the money for yourself.

And you would get more interest if you advertised outside of Ebay.

If you get started, and get enough kids involved, you could probably get an article in a paper- or even an interview.

You are right Nicole. But Ebay is (world)

advertisement. And charitable sales are great. I

have been an ebayer for 10 years. I do have a great

record there. And all sales would be placed with

account to fund choice so anyone could confirm

total. It goes bank account to bank account so

there can be no fraud. Advertising is easy

nationally. It is the timing that would

important. From the sales listing to the sending

the buyer the goods. It would be imperative that

the children donate for the sale by a deadline

in order to advertise the sale and post works. So

all could be incorporated into one shop with advertising.
