The Lyme Disease Awareness Race Car has passed final inspection and is now ready to "race" awareness for Lyme disease!
The winner of the 'design a race car contest' will have their original design painted on an official race car in time for the weekend NASCAR races in North Carolina, where millions will see it live and on TV!
Please click on the link below to see the cool 3D pictures (watch for the bulls-eye rash to appear) and then cast your vote! You can vote once a day, so be sure to re-visit the site and watch the number of votes climb!
Boogity, boogity, boogity, let's go racing Lyme Awareness boys!
Please share this with your email lists, Twitter and Face Book friends too! Thanks!
PS. The winning car designer receives an all expenses paid weeks vacation, race passes, etc for the Charlotte, NC NASCAR races. If we were to win the contest, the grand prize will be donated to a family dealing with Lyme disease.

GOOD FOR YOU! Thanks TuTu!
Looks like we are getting close to 400 votes!!! TOO COOL!!!!
I realized this first phase of the contest is judged by the number of votes alone ... the most votes wins or gets in the top 10 finals.
So please do keep voting and ask friends to do the same!
You can send these easy instructions out to others, if you will please?

Hi TC,
I have been voting for your car daily since the day you sent the email and have also put the link on my Facebook page.
I know there is atleast one other lyme car out there that others on FB are trying to get people to vote for, but it isn't getting nearly the publicity that yours is.
Is there any way to check and see how your car is doing in relationship to all other cars that are being voted on? That may give some the incentive to keep voting DAILY.

TD... Thanks so much!!! Your efforts are certainly working!
I just checked and the votes are up to 941 already! That's too cool!!!!
As for the checking on other votes ... I've tried several ways to figure out IF that can be done and how. No luck so far! Darn.
But if I do come up with something, will let you know!
Thanks again!
Hey there Bill plus...
You must be the ONE in the 941. GREAT!!! Every vote counts and the totals are climbing so nicely!!! Thanks for doing it and thanks even more for remembering to do it!
I've missed two days of voting because I keep forgetting I didn't vote, even when I am there!
Duh me! HA!
So I am glad at least you are thinking about it and casting a vote.

Good news!
Thanks to you, as of noon today (Tuesday 9th) we have a total of 1,111 votes for our Lyme Disease Awareness Race Car!
We have 10 more days left to try to make it to the 'Top Ten Finalists' category! We are in competition with over 8,000 other cars, but I believe we have a chance to make it!
Here is the link where you can check out the car (in 3-D) and cast your vote.

Hi Tincup - first of all - gr8 design! Lisa brought this to our attention. What an insightful idea! We hope and pray for 'beyond what we could know to ask for' response. NASCAR has done a phenominal job of educating the masses and raising incredible dollars for causes like ours.
It has been a long while since I've been able to visit Lymenet; I cannot find your email address in my archives; but would like to communicate w/you directly.
I'm not sure if u r on FB; but that would be a gr8 avenue as well.
Have a couple of questions, but, more of a confidential nature.
Can u access my email (fm my profile?) and if not; what might be the best way for u and I to 'chat'?
Looking forward..
Thanks so much. Blessings, ~d

Since the vote will be close, I suggest sending a message out to friends and family - folks with an email base - and asking them to help us vote for the car to raise awareness for a public health issue that affects everyone -

UPDATE!
The contest site just posted the race cars by top votes, which means that the many many thousands of people who are visiting that site will see our Race Lyme Disease Awareness Car! That is so huge! That is the kind of visibility that has been the goal all along!
Currently we are in the 24th position, out of over 74,500 cars!
We have 3 days left to try to make the Top 10 List and need several thousand more votes to do it.
You can vote once a day, so please share this email with everyone you know and encourage them to vote to help us Race Lyme Disease Awareness!
To see our car go to this link and click at the bottom where it says "View The Gallery".

Have all my e-mail and facebooks going sent this message from canlyme to all this morning. Wow only three cars where voting is allowed - way to go.
"HI CanLymies, Voting is still open only on ours and three other entries in front of us "Lo&Izzy", "Leadfoot" and "Remembering Mom", the rest are closed, so we can gain some quick ground with enough support.
Vote again on each of your computers, get all your friends to vote and have them pass ...it around on as many social networks as possible. You can vote once a day, so please share this email with everyone you know and encourage them to vote to help us Race Lyme Disease Awareness!

What happens if we don't make it to the top ten, will it still get mentioned anywhere.
I am so mad at myself for not seeing this earlier

Maps...
I don't know what they will do with the web site or cars. BUT.. we've been seen by LOTS of folks.. not just our own but many who would have never seen us.
And we've brought a lot of folks together from inside and outside the Lyme community to work on this project... and most are having fun with it.

Looks like everyone needs to vote for the Lyme car before 1:33:38pm EST Thursday, before they close off voting - that's our guess re the final voting day. Looks like we can still pass some cars -

7,708!
It is moving so quickly by the time I write this it will have gone up!
Out of a field of over 78,000 cars that were entered in the contest, the Lyme Disease Awareness Race Car shot up the ladder and made it into 15th place by the time the voting period ended today. The team work on this project couldn't have been better! We ended up with 7,889 votes! Thanks to all who made it a point to vote for our special car. Thanks also to the individuals and groups that put the contest information on their websites, shared it by email, face book and twitter. Without all of you this success wouldn't have been possible!
The Lyme Disease Awareness Race Car will be on display on the official website for at least another 10 or more days. Thanks to your efforts, millions of people will have a chance to see it that normally wouldn't.
As a special thanks to all of you, another car has been designed that not only expresses our sincere gratitude to you, it will hopefully redistribute the energy we are all feeling into another worthwhile project so we can keep the positive momentum going. Please check out the link below and be sure to click on the 3-D button to read the message on the hood, and to see the car's roof and the spoiler on the back of the car.
To see the original Lyme Disease Awareness Race Car in its new official line-up (15th place)- click on the link, then on "Gallery". Then click on the button for "Most Votes". We are on Page 2.
I want to invite everyone to help us in a special effort to support our dear Dr. Charles R. Jones and his children. He continues to brave the many forces against him that are trying to force him into bankruptcy or retirement so he will stop treating the countless sick children with Lyme and tick borne diseases. Please check the website below which is under construction (pardon our dust as it is being developed), but which is being put into action early to assist us with our new project-
If you would like to join us in this effort, we would be thrilled! Please send your completed plans and details for helping Dr. Jones to us by replying to this email, so they can be included on this page for all to see.
Thanks again for your support to help race Lyme disease awareness! A sweet success it was!
