Nice find.

Dr. Baker is entitled to his opinion. I disagree with it. So much for "Evidence based science".

Dear ALDF:

I strongly disagree with "Chronic Lyme disease: in defense of the scientific enterprise" by Phillip J. Baker (for publication 7 14 2010 FASEB Journal).

My active Lyme disease was ignored for two years. Instead, I was treated for CIDP without lasting benefit 25 times in as many months. My HMO follows the IDSA diagnostic and treatment guidelines for Lyme disease.

I suffered much. Then I was properly diagnosed out of plan. IV & oral antibiotics were much more effective and less costly than the HMO's ongoing IV Immune globulin for CIDP.

Once on the Lyme treatments, I started to slowly get better. I no longer was offered the IVIG by my HMO. At times I stopped taking antibiotics and my paresis returned. Without IVIG or antibiotics, the paresis becomes life threatening.

Yet Mr. Baker obviously perfers IV Immune globulin for my paresis. Why? It does not make sense.

I protested to FASEB. If they print your editorial I cannot consider them credible.
