Come to an evening of fine music on Saturday April 2nd at 7:00 pm at 5 Abode Rd., New Lebanon NY 12125. Donations will be used to help defray the ongoing costs of Victoria Lehtonen's medical care. The concert will feature an evening of jazz and fusion, featuring music from Art Blakey to Weather Report, performed by Simon's Rock faculty and students. Also featuring the live debut of Christopher St. Clair's thesis ensemble, with pieces written and arranged by Chris St. Clair, Nash Rochman, Bill Meltsner, Taylor Kang, and Alec Kerestesi.
My daughter Victoria (14) has been ill with Lyme disease, babesiosis, and other tick-borne illnesses since April of 2009.Victoria's treatment is currently being directed by a Lyme and tick-borne disease specialist. She is on an intensive course of antibiotic and antimalarial medications, as well as supplements and herbs. Even though we have insurance, our monthly out-of-pocket medical expenses are high. There are other alternative treatments not covered by our insurance which we know would help Victoria, but which we have not been able to afford. Your contributions will go toward meeting all these expenses. Victoria was featured in an informative article about the controversies involved in Lyme disease diagnosis and treatment which can be found at: http://www.ilads.org/news/lyme_news/80.html
We will also be providing a Lyme disease information table at the concert. For more information about the concert or to donate on-line please visit our website at: victoria.nfshost.com

Karla,
Hugs to you and your daughter. Hang in there!
This has been reposted in the "busier" section (don't tell or you'll get "someone" in trouble)...
And I've also sent it to Lyme advocates in NY to help spread the word.
