New Lebanon Public Library 550 State Route 20 New Lebanon, NY 12125 (518) 794-8844 New Lebanon Library and Capital Region Chapter of Empire State Lyme Disease Association present the riveting film UNDER OUR SKIN.
A gripping tale of microbes, medicine and money, UNDER OUR SKIN exposes the hidden story of Lyme disease, one of the most controversial and fastest growing epidemics of our time. Each year thousands go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed, told that their symptoms are "all in their head." Following the stories of patients and physicians fighting for their lives and livelihoods, the film brings into focus a haunting picture of the healthcare system and a medical establishment all too willing to put profits ahead of patients.
Sharon Hawkes, Director of the Lenox Library and founder of the Lyme Disease Digital Library (www.lymebrary.com), and members of Empire State Lyme Disease Association will be available to answer questions after the film.
