Every year a Lyme Disease Advisory Committee of around 10 people advises the state about Lyme awareness and advocacy.
This year's meeting is Friday March 16 in Sacramento, at the CA Public Health Dept, 1615 Capitol Ave, at one end of the Capitol Mall.
The meeting runs from 9:30am - 3:30pm, with a lunch break. The public listens to the discussion, can make remarks on specific agenda items, then make general remarks at the end of the day.
It's a great way to find out what the state is doing, have some input and meet Lyme folks from around the state.

Btw, at one of our recent state meetings, an audience member talked about working for a major public works organization with lots of co-workers getting Lymed outside.
As a result, CALDA, now LymeDisease.org, educated over 1500 public workers there this past year with a great power point program!

The annual Sacramento meeting of the Lyme Disease Advisory Committee will be Friday, March 16. If you are close enough to come, it would be great to have you in the audience. (A good crowd shows state officials that people care about this topic.) Another option is to listen in by phone. At the end of the meeting, there is an opportunity for public comment, typically limited to 3 minutes each. Agenda and call in info is posted below.
If you can come in person, here are a few items of note: If you drive, allow time to find parking in one of the public garages/lots in the area. You'll have to pay for parking and walk a few blocks. The meeting breaks for lunch. There are a number of casual lunch spots (sandwiches, salad, Chinese food) within a few blocks of the meeting place. If the weather is nice, you could also picnic on a bench at nearby Capitol Park.
