Massachusetts residents, your help is needed. Please contact your lawmakers and ask them co-sponsor the new Lyme insurance bill.

A "Voter Voice" system has been set up to make it easy to either send an email or make a phone call. Read about it here:

Good News regarding the progress of the Lyme disease insurance bill in Massachusetts! This bill would require insurance companies to pay for treatment of long-term antibiotics for Lyme disease and is desperately needed in every state. Sponsored by the former Chair of the Massachusetts Lyme Commission, MA Representative David Linsky, there are now 43 co-sponsors of the MA House version of the bill, HD 469. Apparently in Massachusetts, Senators are able to co-sponsor House bills, which explains why there are some Senators listed as co-sponsors of HD 469. Sponsored by Senator Ann Gobi, there are 26 co-sponsors of the MA Senate version of the bill, SD 985.

This is far more co-sponsors than a similar bill received last year and bodes extremely well for the passage of the bill this year. Passage in Massachusetts will help to set a precedent for passage of similar bills in other states. If you know someone in Massachusetts, it is not too late for them to write to their MA legislators and ask them to sign on as co-sponsors.
