Very scared!! Never been on picc line treatment under the care of an llmd. So I'm hoping for this to go a little smoother!
Not sure the dose yet but I know she wants it done twice a day! Has anyone done this? Any herxes?
I've herxed way to bad before but my nurse gave me the drip in 20 minutes instead of it supposed to have been an hour, so I had major seizures!!!
Any help would be great!! Thanx, Jamie

Look who I see... it's little "g"!
How ya bean? We missed seeing you!!!
Green Pea and I were just talking about you the other day and hoping you were doing ok.
I have not done the IV doxy.. and it is right slow on the board tonight.. due to storms I reckon.. and being a weekend.. but I thought I would say "hey" and bring this back up for the morning crew.
I wish you the best.. and keep us up on your progress.
OK?
Take care of YOU!!!
Guiney,
I was able to quell a developing infection in my picc line with a product called,
'T-Cell Formula' by the company Ecological Formulas.
Hotness, redness developed at the picc-line hole; internal sensations of 'inflammation'(as I would characterize it)in the form a straight line were going up my arm, but no "red-colored line" on the outside going up my arm. Complaints to 'the world' about this elicited 'negatory response;' "NO RED LINE! = No INFECTION!" This developed over a week. When the 'invisible'(internal) linear sensation of inflammation was 2/3 of the way up my arm I became extremely anxious. I anticipated a 'heart attack' in a week. So, I bought a bottle of T-cell formula as a last resort, default gesture. This was 1999.
Response:
1. Hour(s) later diminished intensity of invisible linear sensation of inflammation.
2. By by the 4th day, the internal linear sensation of inflammation(hotness) was gone, and I was back to the 'normal' sensations of having a picc line in my arm,e.g. feeling the tug of the line.
If you should try this, I'd suggest getting the freshest possible bottle you can get to maximize the results. Admittedly, I did not do this, as I just didn't think to.
This has a limited number of peptides, associated w/ immune system functioning.
There are many other T-cell preparations, including one offered by, I think, the company called, "Natcell" in Quebec(?)city-area, Canada.
Tip: Learn how to count the drip-rate on your I.V. so that you monitor it your self, and have someone else do so as well, double checking, as when the medicine 'hits,' this would be the last thing you'd probably think of. If possible, have another near you at all times when the symptoms come on.
A whole bag of rocephin got dumped in my arm in less thatn 10 minutes because of the cheap nature of the i.v. stop apparatus on th eline, and other, contibuting "factors." No seizures, but the effect was real bad.
Good Luck

Forgot to mention it is good to schedule the nurse for the day of surgery. If you can get the surgery early then you won't waste that day.
