hi all,

i have been away for awhile, feeling ok, still sick though. I have been having a weird feeling in my head, and also nausea and gurgling in my intestines. I feel dizzy/woozy and also nausea all the time. I have been on antibiotics for over a year now, Biaxin right now. A freind suggested this can be from yeasts. honestly I an not on low carb and I have been eating quite a bit of muffins, pizza etc, not overkill but daily. Can this be yeast even though I take acidofilus?

Yes and acidophillus doesnt kill yeast.

It doesnt?

The thing is, i am not sure that this is yeast. Can yeast cause this kind of nausea? Its like all day long, and I have the woozy head drunk feeling and I am also having rages and feel sick all day.
Is Nyststin a good idea? I have some of that from a few months ago in my frigerator except i forget how much to take, and how mant times a day how long does it take for this to go away?

Yes, Nystatin may help, as I understand this is to clean out the yeast in your intestines.

I am on Nystatin. I think it is what is making me a bit constipated.

You might want to ask your dr for some diflucan or something like that. It is for all over body yeast.

The acidophillus is to help put back the natural flora as maybe a prevention, I think.

Take care, Amanda

Sorry I do not personally know about the problems you mentioned, but do know it CAN cause many problems.

I just know that I do feel better when I am on a low carb diet, it gives me more energy.

Sounds like yeast, and I would consider daily muffins or pizza overkill. Certainly enough to make a nice environment for a yeast-colony.

However, I wanted to add that Biaxin and Diflucan together is not good according to a recent article that was posted on this forum (and on the Eurolyme forum). They are not compatible, according to this article, and can be dangerous combined.

I find the above interesting (Biaxin & Diflucan).

When I was on IV Rocephin and Biaxin XL, I also did Diflucan without any problems at all.

I did my Biaxin XL in the morning though and always took my Diflucan just before bedtime.

Anyway, have you read "The Yeast Connection"? It is probably a really good place to start if you want to learn about the effects from yeast. My Lyme brain won't let me recall the author's name, but someone around here will remember.

William G. Crook, M.D.

BTW, yeast symptoms can and does cause some of the same symptoms of LD.

It definitely sounds like Yeast overgrowth symptoms to me. I am also having lots of different symptoms that I think stem from Yeast. I've heard that the antifungals (Nystatin, DyFlucan, etc..) are great while you are on them, but the yeast comes back once you stop taking them.

I'm getting ready to take Oregano capsules and a Yeast/Fungal Detox supplement to see if that helps.

Twinkles,

It took me 18 months to get a dx. I was working one week and not able to move the next.

As I was searching for help with the medical field, I also did some of my own research.

Over and over, I kept coming up with how important diet is to ones health.

I think the best advice I received was the saying: "If it is white, it ain't right!"

This means cut out the white flour, white sugar, white rice, pasta, white potatoes, dairy products, etc.

I have noticed a difference when I do this and when I don't do this.

At first, I didn't believe it and would include a Pizza or white rice or potato or two.

But, eventually I caught on...that it was really better for my health to leave these things out.

I still occasionally include "white" items in my diet...but have learned to keep it few and far in between.

I had my doubts the first 2 years, but was told that it takes time and to give it time.

I told the other teacher who came down sick the same time I did about the "If it is white it ain't right" plan.

She didn't listen to me. But recently went to a doctor that told her just about the same thing and charged her a lot of money.

She came back excited and with hope that after 3 years she too was on the road to health.

If you read about people who have had cancer and recovered....you will most likely notice that a change in diet was part of the plan.

Amazing...isn't it. I heard about how the Standard American Diet (SAD)is killing us.

So, it is a good idea to eat lower on the food chain and cut out the processed or man made foods.

Just food for thought! I know it takes time to change old habits. I too have a long way to go yet.

I don't live in an area where I can purchase organic foods. This is my next step and another story.

Try eating legumes, brown rice, fresh veggies, limit the fresh fruit and juices, fish, chicken, nuts, etc.

Let us know if that weird feeling in your head goes away along with the nausea.

Flush the system out with lots of water too.

Please remember that you don't just get Candida overgrowth from "Lyme" abx. You start the vicious cycle from the very first time that you took abx as a child. We were never told about probiotics back then. The problem existed LONG before these recent abx.

The recent abx have just magnified the already existing problem.

And yes, the problems that you mentioned could most definately be from Candida.

Diet alone or antifungels will not cure yeast.

I took 9 months of high amounts of enzymes. 90,000 mils a day.

Oxy Forte 5000 is a good one by American Biologics.

2 on a empty stomach 3 times a day.

Good idea if you could get a live blood viewing to see if Candida and Yeast are present.

My serum test showed nothing.

Candida can give many of the same Lyme symptoms.

Read what you can. A bunch is on the internet if you can not get the book.

Take care.
