Have just finishing reading an article on the web about dogs being infected with lyme.

The vet points out if the treatment is not long enough; the lyme comes back with a vengeance and does not respond as well afterwards.

This is my first relapse with lyme and it feels 10 times worst than the first time 2 years ago. So far, Dr S. was correct on the first part, it does come back with a vengeance.

Can we assume that it's the same for humans and that now it will be harder to be treated this time around?

Anyone with a same story.

Hi there,

I have never tested positive for lyme, but have been clinically diagnosed... and went on treatment over a year ago.

I have had lyme for about 15-30 years.

I went off antibiotics after 6 months of antibiotic treatment because of a severe candida problem... I went off them for 75 days. First month off them, all I did was sleep trying to beat the candida... slowly worked my way to feeling better. 2nd month off antibiotics started to think I would never need antibiotics again, cause each day was a little better.

Then, about 45 days off antibiotics, symptoms started to creep back. I had new symptoms too... getting sick from the sun was one of the new symptoms. NEVER been sick from the sun. Also, another new symptom was dry eyes, then dry throat, then progressed to dry lungs, just about became fatal... until I thought... this must be lyme coming back. I was taking a herbal for lyme, thought it would be ok... did not want to go back on the antibiotics...

I did though go back on the antibiotics, and it was the best thing I ever did. I think? had I only stayed off antibiotics for one month, I would be SO much better now. I am not upset with myself though, as I had no idea what lyme was all about, and even if you read it, you just dont know if it is the lyme coming back...

Or maybe I did, yes, I think I did, just thought the herbal for lyme would be ok.

We all fall in this journey, that was a very tough fall for me, but learned SO! much from it.
