>>Can you Herxe from mag./vit. IV..

I really doubt it. But, you might be allergic to a filler material OR it could just be the physical stress from IVs and IMs.

I finished a month of rocephin a month ago. I swear my body had more problems with the iv procedure than the rocephin. I had clotting problems etc, which it doesn't sound like you're having, but your veins etc could be irritated if they are sensitive or you have any coagulation or blood problems.

Jamie
sorry you are having such a rough time of it.

I don't know if you can herz because of the nutritional drip, but it may bring more keets to the surface. Remember keets like mg and steal it from your body. If you give more to your body to make up for the loss, then you can fight better.. better movement of substance in and out of cells including keets. If they get pushed out, then abx and your own body can fight them.

And, if keets are dying, you are herxing!

Are you on abx treatment with the nutritionals?

I do a myers drip (mg and other nutrinets) once a week. initially I got a couple days of syptom releif. now, abt 8 wks later it's signifigantly better.

Make sure you are communicating well with your healthcare provider to see if the frequency and duration of these treatments are benefitting you.

Hope you feel better soon

What is your saliva pH? Are you acidic, neg. charge from the toxins released (die-off) which is triggering more TNF alpha - proinflammatory cytokine - positive charge, alkaline)?

SOME inflammation is a nec. part of the healing process. I repeat, some. Too much is just too painful. Okay to slow it down a bit. I know, you want to be well TODAY! Very understandable! But to set goals is more realistic. Say to yourself, "In 3 months I am going to be much much better". That sort of thing. SEE yourself well.

"You will see it when you believe it." Not the other way around.

Hang in there.

Oral MgCl2, done consistently for the first time since becoming infected.
A scary reaction; my entire nervous sys., including spine , as best I recall, literally burned(!). I felt made of wires. Burning out to tips of fingers and toes.
Thought I was going to die. Leaped from couch, in great anxiety, not sure if I should call the hospital, or do a 911. No massive headache. I could feel my nerves.
I believe this was a herx.
Some journal notes on this buried somewhere deep in file.
Intake diminished, and so did intensity of reaction.
Subsequent regimens of oral MgCl2 yielded no such response.

E.g. of Mg-deficit Sx at this time:

1. Reaching into pocket for change to pay for donut and coffee set off tricep and deltoid twitch. No 'pocket-billard game', as someone facetiously suggested.
2. Severe thigh, and calf muscle, and foot cramp pain to point of screaming in pain.
2.1 Heel of one foot resting on arch of the other foot, and/or rubbing itch of sole with foot, set of severe cramping of muscles of many muscles in leg(s).

3. Eye lids twitched so much, I could have been a warning-traffic light at an intersection that went bad.

So, perhaps the i.v. Mg reaction is a herx.

Paradoxical effect of vit.s b2,b6, and vit.C is to trigger macrophages to produce quinolinic acid, a natural brain toxin, to cause reepeated firing of nerves, manifested as neurological, psychological and psychiatric Sx; if your putting strange objects in the frig, for ex., or your short term memory has gotten too short(can't remember the phone number as the operator is telling it to you), then if your taking very high doses of these vits. these might be the problem.

Niacin(b3) and magnesium temoporarily stop quinolinic acid production. The former vit. is a multiple-edged sword; it can increase liver enzymes(cell destruction/damage), and, given that lyme affects the heart, and b3 causes histamine release(inflammation), you'd likely feel it in your heart. 25mg of b3, AFTER you re-stock your Mg. will help a lot. These effects are with oral intake of the above nutrients. I.V. intake and its effects I know not of; they may be different, esp. if taken with a host of other things in the I.V. bag that counteract such effects.

1st reactions seem to be the worse.

This combo apparently helps you to make/ utilize the "carrier". It's getting where it is needed.

Now...counter the toxins released.

DQ...figure out the equiv. capsules-slurry of you know what.

Others...sorry about being so vague! I feel I have to be very, very careful about what I post.

Those who have found someone to do IV nutrient drips are very, very lucky!

P.S. It is INDEED a herx.

Hi there Marnie, Gosh this is a somewhat old post....

I stopped doing the drip after a few times of doing it...

Okay Marnie really confused here (not hard to get me confused)

You said:"This combo apparently helps you to make/ utilize the "carrier". It's getting where it is needed.

Now...counter the toxins released.

DQ...figure out the equiv. capsules-slurry of you know what."

HUH? You also said you had to watch what you say here....

I'm truly sorry for that! BUT you can always email

just to explain what you meant.. did you pull this post back up?

If I am lucky to have an llmd " to do IV nutrient drips are very, very lucky! "

Why? and if this combo drip is good for me I may just ask to go back on it!!!!!!!!

My llmd just extended my IV treatment for 2 or so months.

Your opion matters greatly to me, I think you are a wonderful and needed person for LymeNet and like myself, people with Lyme!!!

So, if you feel more comfortable emailing me I'd love that...

I go to N.J. on the 10th of this month, so any input or info before hand would be great!

Thanx, guiney

Dq...research B1...or see my updated nutshell for info. Re:"wiring" symptom problems as a result of MgCl2.

Go slower.

Reason why Valletta chose Mg pyrophosphate and sub. B6.
