I have had migraine with aura since I was 16. Have found a lot of my triggers being weather, food sensitivities, mold...anyway had gotten them down to the point where I would only get four a year and they were managable...enter lyme, babesia, and ehrlichia...well they are getting bad again. I am trying to take precautions against yeast overgrowth and any thing else I can do to minimize triggers. They are becoming more frequent again (two in the last couple months) and Monday's sent me to the ER. The aura kept coming back (3 x in 2 hours)...What does everyone take for these type of migraine when they are actively treating lyme and coinfections with pharmaceuticals? Any help would be appreciated. I know that any form of detox would be good. Thanks!

I have cluster headaches (which is mainly an inherited condition). But there are several options.
Imetrex Comes in a nose spray and nasty.
Maxalt Taken within 30 min. of the start of a migraine. Melts in your mouth.
Nubain (Nalbuphine Hydrochloride) Injection Not bad but can make you sleepy.
*** Also, do you have a barometer to measure the pressure??

I have terrible migrains that can send me to the ER.....
I take Frova,it's kinda new but it's the only thing I find that helps.
I've tried everthing out there and Frova seems the best for me. My Neuro. gives them to me.
For the neausa I have to take phenergan. Evertime I feel ione comming on the upset neausa hits me right away!!!

Thanks so much all of you...I will write these meds down and take the list when I go to my neurologist. I was worried about the interaction with the antibiotics. Imitrex stopped working for me a while back. The heart implications with it really scare me. Maxalt sounds interesting since it melts on the tongue. Butalbital and Frova sound interesting too.
Getting a barometer to measure the barometric pressure is a great idea. I know that it was all over the place that morning.

Don't have a med to suggest, just an experience to share.
I also had migraines from the time I was a teenager. Never did find the triggers. But they were not frequent and I just suffered. However, if I took aspirin with strong caffeinated coffee immediately when the aura first showed up, frequently it would prevent the subsequent headache. This I learned from a school nurse.
They gradually went away over the years. But when I got lyme, I would have headaches and aura, but oddly enough, not together. Like the pieces of the migraine but separately. I never took anything for them except my lyme and babesia meds and haven't had anything like this in quite some time, knock on wood.

Thanks all for your replies - Shelley I will add Phrenilin Forte caps to my list...are those Homeopathic by chance? Lou, very interesting indeed...thanks for sharing your experience. It is interesting - the visual stuff has been kind of auraish lately even without the headache. Through this I have had to wonder...could it be that the hereditary factor in all of this was that lyme has been passed down through my family, since it can pass through the placenta and may be sexually transmitted...this doesn't explain why my aunt and mother don't have it - anyway interesting to think about. I can't wait to see if my migraines get better after treatment. Lou I am glad yours have.

Lou - also thanks for the tip about the aspirin and coffee chaser - actually my old neurologist suggested the exedrine migraine with coke chaser and this has helped in the past. Guess I better have soda on hand again. Coffee would probably be better though no sugar.
