Since being diagnosed with Lyme, has anyone out there experienced scary violent nightmares? Everyone has nightmares from time to time but these seem to be more prevelant and more vivid coming in frequency.

Hey Nuke,
Yep a very common symptom of lyme...and maybe even some of the side effects of meds...however I don't remember experiencing any while on abx's...I usually sleep better and longer while on abx's.
Yeah very vivid and scarey....try and remember that even when killing these creeps when they die they release toxins in the bod as well as the brain that can reek havoc to the synapse messages going on from cell to cell in the brain and cns. Sooooo like an electrical panel getting a bucket of water thrown on it....short circuit city.
These dreams will wax and wane just like the rest of our symptoms.....zman

Hello,

when my children (then ages 6 and 5) were diagnosed with lyme, one of their symptoms was nightmares. Actually they were night terrors, where the kids would look like they were awake, but they were sleeping..and they had horrible nightmares.

The nightmares were so bad that they we up for hours as it seemed so real. We had to spray "monster spray" on the inside and outside of the house, we bought them dream catchers, checked under the beds, closets..etc, but unfortunately the nightmares kept coming.

My daughter use to have them 4 -5 times a week and now she only has them occasionally. It is wonderful to be able to sleep through the night again!

Wishing you happy dreams
