I've been taking amoxicillan for a couple of weeks until I see the LLMD in a couple of weeks.
I'm so damn tired I can't function. I have two little ones at home and I can't take the fatigue.
I try to lay down when I get the baby down for nap and put a movie in for my three year old. I'm still exhausted when I wake up.
I get plenty of sleep, but I'm tired. It hits around noon and last until about 8:00pm.
I know some people are much sicker than me and I don't mean to complain, I'm just so tired of being tired.
I feel like I spend the day trying to figure out how to get a nap that doesn't even help. Plus, my patience is short with the kids and this is not how I want to be!!!
Thanks for letting me rant and for any suggestions you may have!
I also take a 1000 mg vitamin c timed release, B-50 complex (any stronger and it makes me nervous), my fatty acid pill as I call it(omega3, 6, & 9), and my staple royal jelly, ( it is not really jelly or honey or any thing like sugar), it's what they feed the queen and works for fatigue and pain, and b-12 shots twice a week.
If I miss any of the above I feel like crap. Fatigue was my first symptom and I wish you luck.
Methylcobalamin B-12 injections daily
Cordyceps
Siberian Ginseng
Green tea
magnesium Mag Tab SR

not cheap though and it's a III rated drug so you have to get the special security prescription slip and there's no refills (same with provigal)
Also if you aren't getting good sleep at night, I found the adderall really helps. And then I was taking restoril to help for when I couldn't sleep. It's not quite doing the trick lately though so we're switching me to xyrem which supposedly gives you very deep sleep.
good luck!
I can't imagine having to take care of anyone. I can barely take care of myself. That must be exhausting.
I have two kids as well (both are so sick right now because of lyme) breaks my heart. I feel so much pressure to get well to take care of them. I also started taking anxiety medication because my nerves are shot and I didn't want to be short with my kids anymore.
my dr. prescribed provigil yesterday. haven't taken it yet. I'm nervous about side effects. i'll probably start tomorrow. good to hear it works for some.
tikbit,
where do you get the vit. c timed release?

Please remember that you have a chronic infection and your body will need lots of sleep for many months to get well.
Using drugs to function is sometimes needed, but always keep in mind that rest is the best thing for heeling.
At my worst I slept 14-16 hours a day and wanted more. Perhaps you can find someone that you can work with to keep your kids a few hours a day and when keep theirs. I found 4 kids in the house was not much different than 2.
Stop doing anything that is a "should" and focus on just doing what you and your family need, food, laundry, cleaning and your rest time. It doesn't sound fun and it isn't. Just keep the goal of your health in mind.
Rest and be well,
Mel
Rest, sleep as much as possible. Your body heals while you are sleeping.
I learned to do only the immediate important things and forget the rest. They will always be there for another day.
sweet dreams

Vitamin c and ginko, even COQ10 makes me really nervous. The vitamin C's ok as long as I don't take to much.
Any store should have timed release C's. I know the healthfood store will, but Walmart, CVS,& Walgreens has it as well.
I wouldn't pass up the royal jelly if you're at the health food store. That's the only place to get some that will work. Just make sure you get the pill form and not the kind that' mixed with honey since most of us are trying to avoid sugar. 1,000 mgs if you can find it.
Not kidding, I didn't think it would do anything but hey if it makes the queen live indefinitely there may be something to it. It's helpled everyone I've told about it. Certainly can't hurt.
I took it in the first place for depression and at the time my knees were on fire from a cold front coming in. I didn't know it helped pain. By the time I got home from the healthfood store , and I took it as I left, the pain in my knees was completely gone. I thought maybe it was a fluke, and tried it again several times.
It really helped the pain. Side effect was it gave me energy and a sense of well being without being wired up.
That doesn't mean you still don't need the Provigil. This lyme is notorious for fatigue and you need all the help you can get. the b vitamin complex will help your nerves. Let me know how you do. you can e-mail me
I had a sleep test and found I was waing 233 times a night. Half from pain--the other half from hystamines that my body was releasing (with toxins) when I was herxing.
I got a CPAP machine and it CHANGED MY LIFE!!!!
That is when I turned the corner.
Thanks,
Linda

There is something in the herbs that helps fight the fatigue without the jitteryness of adderall or the toxic side effects. These herbs actually help the liver function better while boosting energy dramatically. When I take them its like someone allowed blood flow to my brain all of a sudden. At 4pm I take a cup of the "tea" and I feel immediately more awake and alert without being jittery. It also does not keep me awake at night like 4pm coffee would.
Very powerful. They taste awful but work great. You make a decoction with the herbs by boiling them down to a concentrated liquid.
i will find out what herbs are in the tea and in what concentration and post it here. You may even be able to order this combination on the internet and make the decoction at home without having to see a chinese med doctor.
hope this helps ....I'll find out on thursday when i go in what it is...probably lots of ginseng i would bet...i'll post the herbs under the heading "chinese herbals that fight fatigue"

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm trying to keep my eyes open long enough to read them.
Aligondo Bruce, you are too funny. Thanks, I needed a laugh today.
Baby just woke up so I'll be back to read again later.
Tikbits script is pretty much how I handle it.
1000-2000mg C
B Complex
and B-12
I used to brew Manchurian Mushroom Tea years ago and that seemed to pick me up also, although it may have been all in my head. I wonder how it would react now to all the antibiotics? Probably explode.
