I'm having such struggles getting this hormone thing right. I had been doing pretty good and then my doctor changed things.....said I would feel better....is anyone else having trouble in this area.....

Yes, I don't have any estrogen, testosterone, thyroid and we're still looking at growth hormone.
I'm on replacements for everything. I have panhypopituitarism.
I've read that the disease messes up the Pituitary-Hypothalmus axis.
It's sure to contribute to the sleep problems

I'm trying....it's just hard.....I feel as if my insides are attacking me...I have one of those sick headaches coming on and all I want to do is cry but right now I can't even do that.....everything seems big....when I know it isn't....I hate being controlled by my body.....

Having your hormones messed up can make you feel really crazy. Hang in there, it can get better.
Hormones are tricky, because each one affects several others, and not always in the way you hope or want it to. So it takes time and patience to make the slow adjustments required to bring things into better balance.
You have to trust your own response to things as much as what your doctor tells you. I always make my hormone changes VERY slowly, and never more than one at a time. That way I can see how my body reponds, and single out which thing is causing the change.
Sometimes just changing the amount you are taking causes trouble, even if it is moving in a direction that you need it to. Everything is delicately balanced, so the balance has to shift, and the shifting period can be unpleasant.
What hormones are you taking, and what did your doctor change?
Wellbutren (I'm not sure that spelled right) Estriol, Testosterone cream, Prometrium, DHEA, Cortef.....the list goes on an on......I was on a different type of cream that had more than just the testosterone....but he said that the Estroil under the tongue was better.....I just don't know if it's just all the changes or if I'm not getting enough.... Have you ever used Colostrum Lozenges? Thas is something else he recommended.

Did you call your LLMD? I recently found out my body was not absorbing the estradiol cream. So we've gone to shots. [I've had a complete hysterectomy, thanks to Lyme.] I immediately got rid of my hot flashes, thank goodness.
What kind of symptoms are you having?

I'm taking the one under my tongue and it seems like since I've been doing that it has gotten worse......my whole outlook has gotten bad

Is testing for hormones equally important for guys as it is for men?
And is the types of hormones the same to test for in both cases?
I recall a thread on this board about 5 months ago stating that men should check for Testosterone, Progesterone, DHEA, Estradiol and Cortisol.
Anything else?
Do you guys test through your doctor or do you do the spit test through the web?

Is it safe for those of us younger to replace our hormones? I am only 27 and this disease or some other (CFS) has destroyed my hormones big time. I have no estrogen, prog, cortisol, etc. I hear bad things about HRT all the time, does this include Bioidentical hormones? Is replacing these worse than not having any?
