Two of my children started zith last week for LD.

They are scheduled to start Mepron this week.

the zith has made my daughter tired, but she's doing ok...calmer that usual. My son has also been tired, and has had a tough episode with rage...Hoping it's just a passing thing.

I'm hoping others could share their experiences with zith mepron combo...especailly children, teen experience..

Thank You!

Hi Achey,

My teenage son has been on IV zith for nearly 2 months. He initially did it with mep for 3 weeks. Some pretty strong herx's, but the week off of mep, he really improved. Improved more on 3 weeks of zith, than 3 months of rocephin.

Doc is doing IV zith, with plaquenil, and artemisinin, for babs now. He's still improving, though he caught a virus which set him back a little. Hopefully, your children show strong improvement as well.

thanks NP
My two are on oral zith....
I hope they don't need IV's..I've been on IV since Nov... LLMD doesn't think they will.

How has your son managed school?
My son has missed abt 20 days so far before dx...this past week has been school vacation week, so no one there knows yet. I guess it will be a busy week.

dr jones had my kids on mepron/zith combo for 6 months...no weeks off though..just straight through..they herxed every 4 weeks like clockwork..my son had periods of rage/cognitive stuff..my daughters herxes were mostly physical. but they got through it..and are free of babs now.

make sure you take the mepron with fatty food. my kids used to have a tablespoon of pnut butter right before they swallowd the mepron, or a scoop of pudding or somehting like that..it helped with the taste too, but it was high fat whcih the mepron needs to be digested properly..
