I Have been treated for Lyme on and off for 5 years. 2 doctors say I have it and 4 say no. Going up to NY to Dr.B next week can anyone explain these tests results and body temps.
Elsa one Positive-One equ and One neg.
Western Blot Equ-bands 31 and 66
co-infections positive tests done 2 times at Ignex and the third time at another lab and it was neg.
I feel awful and that I am losing my mind.
Dr. B has you track your temps 3 X daily mine are mostly 99.6 on an avarage.
white blood cell count a little high, In your opinion what do you think.
Thank You,

Well, it depends on the expertise of the doctors who are telling you that you do/do not have lyme. If four docs without lyme treating experience say you don't have it, these are not very useful opinions.

If you are going to Dr. B, he will give you the straight scoop, better than any of us here at the newsgroup.

The trouble with testing, even at good labs, is that there are more types of each of the tickborne critters than we are able to test for. More babesias, more bartonellas, and they are still finding new borrelias. Testing results are only part of the diagnostic picture.

CRAZY!!! just like the rest of us!!

Band 31 is a "classic hallmark borreliosis antibody"
Band 66 is the "second most common borrelia antibody

I think you need to listen to the drs who say you do have Lyme. If for no other reason than if you are NOT treated you run the risk of permanent damage......if you ARE treated, you'll get better.

If you're treated and you don't have Lyme; nothing lost.

Band 31 is, frequently, the first band to show up for Lyme patients.

If Dr B says "You have Lyme." then you have Lyme. He's the best.

Most labs and most MDs are worthless when it comes to Lyme.

Many Lyme patients feel awful and many of us ARE losing our minds. That's why it's best to stick with Dr B.

Chic, glad to read you are going to Dr. B soon!

Welcome to this 24/7 support group board!

Here's TREEPATROL's and TINCUP'S combination newbie links.
http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/029917.html

Print off the links then check them off as you read as you could spend several months reading all of this.
print & read Dr. Barrascono's info first; you will come back to this often.

Also, see Cheryl's extensive web sites on: LD DIAGNOSIS, SYMPTOMS, & TREATMENT ... wonderful!

Some guidelines from Betty/others on using this message board:

* Do NOT use all caps when posting; it's hard on our eyes. But I know one of our members has macular degeneration, and all caps is what she can see & read so exceptions like this are acceptable for good reasons.

* We chronic, late-stage lymies can NOT read long paragraphs. So please limit your paragraphs to 6-8 lines max of text and double space between paragraphs.

* You can EDIT your text comments anytime. You can NOT edit your subject line so please make it as specific as possible instead of ``help, question'' etc. in order to have more readers/replies in trying to assist you. There are between 30-40 NEW/replies to post daily so we can't read all the posts on our limited time here...thanks for understanding.

* If you use the ``quote'' icon, please DELETE [B] bold at the beginning & ending of the quote. This makes it easier on our eyes.

* To just reply without quoting, go to the top or bottom of screen in the black & white area to reply or post a new topic. Many of us couldn't see it when we 1st started posting. Thank you for helping us all out!
