Hello, I'm new to lyme disease. I was diagnosed about 1 month ago. I was lucky to have it caught early as I had the rash and knew what it was. I am allergic to lots of medications and I couldn't take doxycyclein and was then put on rocephrein(sp?) and was allergic to that too. Finally I was able to take zithromax. I just finished 3 weeks on it and now a week later my symptoms are returning ( severe headache, bodyaches, total loss of energy)My doctor says I need to wait another week but didn't explain why. Meanwhile I am feeling more miserable everyday. I feel like I'm going crazy and can't get anything done. Has anyone had any experience like this? Should I keep waiting or find another doctor?

You mean wait another week before going back on the Zith??? I wouldn't wait, unless this is a severe herx. [didn't sound like it]

Is your dr an LLMD? Lyme Literate MD? You need a good LLMD to have the best chance at getting well.

A good LLMD will also check you for co-infections, like babesia. And a REALLY good LLMD will TREAT you for babesia no matter what the test result says since the tests are so lousy and miss alot.
