I know I am not the first to be prescribed Amantadine. I was wondering about others experiences with it.
I will say it has helped with fatigue and fasciculations. However the first few days were pretty anxiety filled. It also had the same happen when increased to 200mg.
I am now considering a med for the anxiety. Before I was just anxious with no energy. Now I am just anxious with more energy. This whole disease is overwhelming. Who wouldn't be anxious?
I feel as though things are settling a bit now. Is this med used long-term?
I have been on abx now for 7 months. I would say fatigue and energy are my biggest issue now.
I also started PT this week, it is pretty embarrasing when your arms and legs shake and quiver after using rubber bands and 3 pound weights.
Thanks for your insights.
Take care and peace.

No negatives for me that I recall. I used it instead of Plaquenil which reeked havoc on my hair.
What are you taking it with?

I am taking it with Tertracycline.
I just switched from Biaxin/Plaquinel. Which I was on for 4 months.
Did you feel the Amantadine made a difference in your recovery?
Thanks and peace.

Dr. Donta says that there is no point of taking pH changers with tetracyklines. Only with macrolides and ketek.

No, I wish it had been more helpful for me.

Very Interesting because Dr. D is the one who prescribed it.
It was prescribed to help with fatigue. My research has shown that this med is often used in MS and Parkinson's for fatigue.
Take care and peace.

I've been on it for a couple months now at 200mgs a day... I have not noticed any significant effect in improving my fatigue...dang it.
Hope it works better for you.
I know Dr C down here has used it with some success for his patients with lyme induced parkinsons. If you're shaking perhaps it will work for you also.....unless the shaking is just cuz you're muscles are out of shape... and not the involuntary twitches associated with this disease. good luck............zman
