I've read a bunch of postings about people who have passed the disease onto family members. How did you manage to do that. I guess I don't know how it can be transmitted. I would really like to know in order to prevent this from happening to anyone else.

It has never been proven by a study....however, many children have been born with Lyme...when their Mother's were infected before or during pregnancy.

Also...based on the fact that this spirochete WAS Syphillus over 5000 years ago...until it split off into a zoonotic disease...should help answer that question.

too many moons ago, I can't remember half the SN either but they will come back to me as I see them..maybe..?!!
Cognitive issues going on.. Heck I can't even remember if I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express last night or not.. LOL

I'm really shocked to hear this. My Dr. has never mentioned anything about transmission. Please let me know if any of you know other ways the disease can be transmitted to another person.

I just read through the link you posted, and found it very disturbing but also good information.


This really is one nasty disease, and although it's overwhelming to read things like this, it also seems very important to understand what I'm up against.

I have never heard Lyme was derived from Syphillis. That doesn't mean it is not true. They have two entirely different genetic makeups. They are both zoonotic diseases though. They believe Syphillis originated from Sheep. If evolution dictates anything after an organism evolves to stay alive the former organism ceases to exist. That is why I don't buy the people from apes theory why are there still apes and no neanderthals left then.

As far as the contagious factor there is much controversy on this subject. My money says it is far more contagious then they are letting on or want us to know. Same thing as the CDC saying HIV can't be transmitted by mosquitos.

Now that I finally figured out and tested positive for Lyme my lyme-dar is on. All around me I am watching friends etc. come down with lyme symptoms and am wondering did I give it to them or vice versa. Either Lyme carrying ticks have become a huge epidemic or it is more contagious then through ticks alone. Sometimes I wonder if it is even Lyme most people here have. I am not too sure if it is not some kind of genetically mutated spirochette bacteria similar to Lyme, Gulf War Syndrome of sorts. Mainly because the Lyme boom seemed to appear in the mid 90's not that there wasn't Lyme just not nearly as many cases. Just my two cents.

Four people in my family (of 5) have Lyme! About 70% of the population would more than likely test positive (although many are symptom-free). I think that it's sexually transmitted, as well as through breast milk. Read something the other day about contamination from various food products too! Is nothing safe???!!!

My husband had it first then me then the dog. My guess would be any bodily fluid. No ....I do not kiss my dog. LOL We feed him our left overs. poor thing .He responded very well to tetracycline.
